Well should there? Personally I think the previous games did fine without nudity but I wouldn't not buy the game if it had it in there. Do you think Bioware should take the M rating this game is most likely going to have all the way? Or should they again just leave it to our imaginations?

If the game is going to be "M" then why not...  As long as it doesn't become nudity for the sake of nudity. The desire demons seems to be natural TBO. And if done tastefully then it could add something to the romance part as long as they really render it nicely and not make it too exploitive to just the female folks....

But, I was ok with the level in DAO and DA2. I am not prude but I don't want "Leisure Suit Hawke" either lol.

cd project , maker of the witcher series is in Poland.
Bioware is in Canada AND the US.
The Fox News argument is relevant.

Wow, I read that and I imagined a LSL "love scene" using the equipment from the Inquisitor's torture chamber. Excuse me but I have to go think about how my brain works.

Speaking of that, did you catch the "kinky equipment" in the Repentance quest in DA2?  It took me about three play throughs before I really stopped and looked at it. Then I was like "Is that what I think it is? OMG!"

Who gives a damn about Fox News?I hate censorship because people are always going to find ways to be offended by something. Why should Bioware or anyone else censor their own Mature rated games just because dumb parents don't read the label?

Who the **** cares?? If it happens to work with the game's over-all mood, environment, aesthetics, graphics, character interaction, etc. then they should go with it. If it doesn't--if fade-to-black, tasteful shadows and camera angles, partially clothed shots, etc. works better for the over-all mood and tone they're going for--then they shouldn't.
Seriously people, we're talking about a max of 30 or so seconds of animation in an otherwise 20-something hour game. Who. The ****. Cares??

But this is exactly the point. What we've been seeing lately is games where the over-all mood, etc., would support nudity, but we don't get that because of puritan idiots from America.

I agree but remember not all yanks are puritans, even the ones who act like they are. But you are right America does seem to have too much sway i these types of decisions.

If nudity became the norm it would stop being such a taboo subject as it is now. Does it add anything to the game? Not really, but it could maybe start a cultural change where people didn't have as big of an issue with it. The issue is whenever a company decides to do it they face massive backlash from a lot of sites so other companies don't follow suit.

I think nudity in real life shouldn't really warrant as much controversy as it does, because really, in the end your penis is as much a part of your body as your arm, but for some reason, your penis is exceptionally more offensive to reveal? In a video game, it's kind of strange for people to pander excessively to nudity to gratify their sexual appetite, but overall it is harmless.

I really do not care either way, it will not sell the game to me... it will not stop me from buying it. If they do go down the no nudity route (which im very sure they will) I would prefer something more like Mass effect 1, they were obviously naked but camera angles were used to obscure the naughty bits... Dragon Age Origins was very strange, its looked like they were going to do full on nudity and at the last minute bottled it and stuck underwear on them.

Lots of full, fleshy breasts please...

...afterall the Broodmother was one of the creepiest bosses in Origins.

p.s. Vorcha should be a playable race in Inquisition.

No, simply because it's not necessary and wouldn't add anything but controversy with all the conservative groups.

Not really. The Witcher and The Witcher 2 had nudity, and the game was praised for its dark and mature theme. Heck, even the prime minister of Poland was proud of the series, and literally gave Obama the Witcher 2 as a gift.

Actually, I think the reason we don't "get" to have nudity is because the developers don't actually want it in their game. DG has pretty strong opinions about it at least.

No sh*te, I like how every time this comes up they say "DO WANT YOU WANT TO DO BIOWARE DON'T WORRY ABOUT PEOPLE," and then Gaider comes in and says, "We are."

My issue is not with nudity per se, but with plausibility.

If it is plausible for a scene to have the characters unclothed, I hate it if they make them wear underwear just to avoid offending the f*cking fundamentalists. If you don't want nudity, then be honest about it and don't show scenes were it would be a necessity to be believable, and if you do want the scenes, then show them without censoring.

I love the mood of the ME1 romance scenes, but then came Faux News and since then they're sh*tting their pants at EA at the thought of a repeat. Cowards.

Sorry for the crude language, but this really sends me up the wall.

What? If anything the love scene with Liara in Mass Effect 3 showed more skin than the scene in Mass Effect 1. Don't kid yourself, that Fox report was a blessing for Bioware. Free publicity on one of the major news networks in the U.S.

And for the love of God, stop that silly argument that if you don't want nudity in games you're a fundementalist. I did a poll on THIS FORUM with over 850 people and it was split down the middle with who wanted nudity and who didn't. Considering Bioware's pro homosexual stance, you'd think fundementalist wouldn't frequent this forum.

A good game doesn't need to show ******, we're adults and can imagine what they do when they fade to black.

The Witcher 2 scenes were cheesy and comical when I saw them. Especially the famous Triss in the bath scene, it was like watching one of those soft porn flicks that played at 23:00 when you're  a 16 year old teen.

As usual, you didn't bother to understand what I wrote: I have neither a particular fondness nor a particular aversion to nudity in video games, but I have an aversion to censorship which makes scenes appear like a parody. In scenes where characters would be expected to be unclothed, they should be. They shouldn't be given some stuff to wear just for the sake of people who'd be "offended" by nudity. Really, I can't begin to express my contempt for such a mindset.

Anyway, it's all a part of my "dressing for the occasion" principle that Bioware violates at every turn with its "iconic" presentation of characters.

Camera angels and use of shadows.
