Not inherently, because it would depend on how the nudity is portrayed. In order for something to be nonsense, it would actually have to BE nonsense (like, for actual reasons), not just you saying that it is.

IMO not a whole lot. i will say 95% of the posts here that "want more nudity"  just because they wanna see naked people. That is there ONLY motive.

Art is in the eye of the beholder. Some people see porn, something unclean or unnatural, others see it as natural. 

however. the game does not "need" nudity. so far most of the stories and romances have been more about relationships than just "Let bang ok?" Yes you could argue that Isabella's romance was that way but, in all honesty thats Isabella's personality, and if you go for the relationship with her, she ends up comeing to find and accept love from someone else. Did we really need to see Hawke and Isabella do sexy time naked. Not really.

In The Witcher, almost all the sex was clearly of the "Lets bang ok?" Type, about the only real relationship he has is with Triss.

This all comes down to "what is right for DA storytelling" do we need to see it, I don't think so, The nudity really will only draw in the teenagers, and sadly FNC agian for no other good reason but to have something on a slow news day.

I'd agree with you that romance scenes don't necessarily have to show nudity to be effective. I remember enjoying Isabela's where before the camera cuts away when all she'd discarded was her knives not her clothes. That said i found the Triss/Geralt elven bath sequence both amazing & witty. So if they feel they don't need to show nudity to have really effective sequences then ok, but if they are just avoiding nudity out of fear when it could be used to improive those sequences then it is less ok.

Nudity should where it is appropriate. DAI won't be an erotic game so there isn't any need for gratuitous nudity but some scenes just call for it. The most notorious example would be ME3 shower scenes with Traynor. Underwear just doesn't belong there. So if Bioware wants to make sex cutscene they should do it right or just fall back old tested "fade to black".

This. The brief nudity in Dante's Inferno (between Dante and Beatrice) is a good example of how to do nudity in video games (even though that nudity was animated like a motion comic and not rendered in-engine), or the prologue scene in TW2 when Geralt and Triss wake up before the battle.

I feel that there is tasteful nudity (ME and DAO), and then there's nudity just for nudity's sake (Witcher 2). Personally I could care less if there was nudity or not, so long as it's tastefully done which Bioware seems to always do.

I certainly don't want shower scenes (Traynor & ME3) or love scenes (DA:O) in the undies. I don't want witcher 2 either but I don't see Bioware taking it there. I certainly want something between DA:O and ME3 though. DA2 was lacking in the romance scene department...imo. Anyway, I say it depends on the scene.

Piles of bodies lying in a stream of blood.

All that is normal, tastefull and acceptable.
But few scenes with naked people and suddenly there is an massive outcry.

Take this for example.



Haven't seen anyone against scenes like this.

The reason Bioware doesn't put nudity in their game is not because somebody or something is censoring them against their will.

The reason that Bioware doesn't put nudity in their game is because Bioware doesn't want to put nudity in their game. And to be honest, I don't think that Bioware should be forced to put something into the game that they don't want to put into the game.

The answer to the question of "Should there be nudity, or no?" is "There should only be nudity if Bioware wants to put nudity into the game".

The answer to the question "Does Bioware want to put nudity into their game?" is "Not at the present time, no."

The fact that I didn't get laid with those two bisexual chicks last night is religion's fault. Everything that goes wrong is religion's fault or more specifically God's fault right?

Actually it's you far-westerners. At least in America where scenes of mindless violence is okay but a bit of side boob isn't. Europe isn't like that (well I'm sure there are a few places like that) so it's more of a cutural thing. Take all these European games that have come out from The Witcher 2 to Heavy Rain as examples. They have full frontal nudity in them. Meanwhile 16-18+ movies that have romance scenes in them don't shy away from showing some nudity.

So it's more related to games.

Bethesda seems to get along fine without nudity and we know Bioware wants to copy their success with skyrim.
By the same token there are tons of Bethesda mods for the pc versions of their games including nudie and porn mods allegedly .
