Ah yes. I see my words were not specific enough. Allow me to express my opinion in a less vague manner.
In The Witcher 2, all except two scenes (the ones with Triss) appear to be there for simple titillation (one of my few problems with the game). I have no problem with titillation, sex, nudity, what have you. In fact, I am deeply saddened by much of humanity's shame over the subject. However, if I wanted to watch p'rnography, I WOULD F*CKING WATCH P'RNOGRAPHY. To be totally fair, these scenes never last longer than a minute and a half, but if you are going to put a sex scene in a movie, game, TV show, etc. that is not made to titillate the viewer, DON'T MAKE A SEX SCENE MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR THAT PURPOSE. My embarrassment was that posts like these make people from the outside looking in not see The Witcher for what makes it great, but for one of the things CDProjekt RED needs to work on, and that is approaching sex and sexuality in a mature way in a game that is otherwise VERY mature. Not in a way that's pretty much them going, "Hey look, guys! BOOBIES!!!", while everybody else eats that sh*t up instead of calling them on it. When people actually look at this problem in a positive light, it can draw many away, make them think this game is another game that is only "mature" because it has boobs and swearing. Also, if we don't criticise them for it, CDProjekt RED won't fix this problem. Ideally, not only CDProjekt, but EVERYBODY, will approach sex NOT in a more tasteful way, but in a more MATURE way. And that is what pisses me off about that post. Not that they're just excited about something titillating.
Maybe CDPrjekt RED
does approach sex and nudity maturely and people are too busy being offended by it to notice.
The sex and nudity are hardly dominant in TW2. Including the two Triss scenes, I can only remember the succubus, an elven woman and the prostitutes. The only one of those that didn't make much sense was the elven woman wanting to sleep with you as payment for your help. But that's just my personal thoughts on the matter.
When are people going to accept that some people like that kind of thing, and that it's okay? If people are being scared away by TW2's "rampant" sex and profanity, I personally feel they are being incredibly close-minded.
