Thought it was ridiculous for the characters to be dressed in armor right after the scene.

I would argue with your definition of "fully clothed" . Considering oceans are usually full of cold wind, that girl needs some proper slacks. Not that I minded looking at her of course.


I think nudity is just fine to have in areas where it makes sense. Underwear sex looks ridiculous and can ruin immersion, as can the typical fade to black. Unfortunately sex is now an ongoing thing in the series. (Hell you can have a 3 some with Isabella and Zevran in not one, but two games), so they can't just remove it without some backlash from fans. Give some tasteful love scenes and you can avoid any controversy.

The initial backlash from ME1 love scenes came from a reporter who hadn't actually played the game, and assumed there was some sort of sex pit in the game, she later apologized and the whole idea of romance scenes hasn't seemed to escalate as badly since. They shouldn't need to worry too much about criticism unless their tossing full frontal P and V at us. Desire Demons were nude in DAO, weren't much more clothed in DA2, so nude romance scenes aren't much of a stretch.

If people can handle the sight of blood and gore, why not nudity? There's nothing wrong with it unless it becomes pornographic (nudity and sex aren't pornographic, unless you are a prude).
The game is Pegi 18, I suppose, thus it is for a mature audience, but if some people are offended by nudity, well make it possible to skip those scenes or to get a censored version.

IMHO this  thread would be more useful if it was presented with a poll, just a suggestion

I vote for partial nudity y'know something like in mass effect where they show the bare back, side boob etc. The reason I propose this is because like so many other DA fans have said for years... underwear 'sex scenes' are silly.

The way things were handled in DA2 and ME3 was pretty awful. Either don't bother with scenes that need it, or do it properly.

Yea, that would be disgusting and horrifying.

However, on a serious note (and one I have stated many many times) only if needed, not for the sake of just having it.  Make like ME1 rommance scenes, it wasn't thrown on there, but just added realism to it.

If anything this is definitely why there will probably never be full nudity, at least not in this game. Even now in movies it's such a big deal to show a penis (outside of a Judd Apatow comedy). I don't know why, maybe it makes all those chaste conservative women lose their fath and ruin their good Christianly lives, and we can't have that kind of madness.

I am with where it makes sense, look at the Witcher series CDProject wasnt afraid to throw nudity in the game where it made sense. All we are asking is for no fade in black and no underwear sex, really makes the romance scenes a waste of time to add in there.  Really just want realism in the romance scenes to make them more organic and less ackward.

Breasts are a secondary sexual characteristic, like beards and butts (which you may have notice also get shown). Genitals are primary. They are not going to show penis anymore than they are going to show vagina. Besides, a lot of their audience could be lost for the graphic display (increased ratings, stricter parents, personal preferences), and the people that flocked the game instead MAY not be the audience they look for (especially if they came from the primaries instead of the actual story or gameplay).

I'm still fine with nudity, just more like Mass Effect's, where it focused on the emotional weight rather than "oh look, dicks".

It'll never happen .
What's realistic are creative camera angles, shadows, and bedsheets along with realistic tastefully done.
Mass Effect has done it.
Can't the creative DA team come up with something as well?

I wish BioWare games would just handle sex with maturity. Naked bodies aren't a taboo. In fact, they're beautiful works of art.

It astounds me that you can reveal the horrific way in which the Darkspawn reproduce, actually showing the Broodmother in all her disgusting glory... but breasts, our audience will never be able to handle that!

I'vr been criticized recently in another similar thread for expressing my personal preferences in this matter.
Everybody has a right to their own preference .
Expressing my preference doesn't mean I expect or demand Bioware provide mine and not provide others.
It really poed me off when someone criticized me for, I guess having a preference that varied from theirs and they said they were tired of hearing it.
Quite frankly I wished I wished I could have dropped kicked that person into the nearest lake.

Talking about nudity and romances seem to be pretty worthless on the BSN because you can't maintain a civil discussion .
People want to attack you if your views or preferences or sexual orientation differs from theirs.Other players who hate romances want to come in and insult those of us who do, pretending they have some kind of moral highground.They make me sick.So it's a waste of time having such discussions on the BSN.

As I have voted for before: I think that a 'toggle' option would be best, like there is one too for the persistant gore.

Personally I have no problems with nudity. Guess I would not want pixelated porn either, but tactical camera/object placement ftw.

For me: DA:O was a bit awkward with the camera angles. It had a high 'Team America' level for me. Nonetheless I loved the romantic storyline. DA2 was better camera angle wise and had a nice build up (kissing, moving towards intimacy)... just to get a fully dressed partner after the fade to black... That was an immersion breaker 0.o If there would have been some sort of 'Hawke and partner sleeping in eachothers arms', 'kissing in bed' or whatever cutscene in between, it would have already been better for me (which could have been 'covered up' by blankets anyway).

Pff, it is a bit hard to explain for me, but as long as a scene breathes realism, love and compassion I will be happy with it (nothing wrong with pure lust, but that would depend on the type of romance (read: Isabella in the beginning), in my opinion). For example, I know I have actually been squee-ing at the Anders scene, as it was totally romantic to me. There, the fade to black was not bad, as they were just on the way of actually kissing, undressing and making love. It was just the follow up which felt to be missing for me. A bit of (implied) nudity would have been better, as I have to admit I was not sure now whether they just were pulling a Sebastian in having a chaste relationship XD Heck, having had a dialogue option like 'do you want to continue' - 'yes', 'no, not yet' whilst kissing would have already been better in implying that actually something happened or not.

I do like that each romance in both DA:O and DA:2 was different, as was fitting for the characters involved ((hopelesly) romantic Alistair and Anders, cute Lelianna and Merill, physical attraction Zevran and Isabella, etc. Although not everything is my cup of tea (always playing the straight female here), I do love that there are so many options out there for everyone.

I was told by a mod in another thread that it would be a budget thing to design nude bodies, and that is why they would not be included in DA;2. Although a pity, I can understand if that is a choice to be made. I just hope that the 'lets have sex, here is some underwear' cutscenes are a thing of the past, as it was just making me laugh instead of creating immersion. Or if chosen to have undies, please make it logical. As in: no dry-humping, but still somewhere between being dressed and ready to go. Have some clothes fly through the room, lots of kissing, etc. Just a suggestion.

In DA2 female Hawke was wearing lingerie, while male Hawke was wearing ...pants. <_<

I've allways been wondering why is that many people are ok with bloody violence and then freak out at the sight of side boob, not to mention full nudity? What makes us so acceptable of violence and so immature when it comes nudity? Mind you I am not pointing at anyone in this thread, just a general though.
