I don't know either Ukki. I know I would be traumatised if I saw someone get killed, but seeing a naked person... /care. Somehow it appears to be different when they are pixels.

And by the way, I agree about the 'fair nudity'. And for the degree of nudity... to me personally it is more appealing if some things are left to the imagination, but a lot is suggested/implied.

For example: a drawing of Aimo is really love which implies a lot, but is still tasteful (copying it in as a link due to nsfw content) fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/231/c/9/mmcn___anders_pr0n_week_2_by_aimo-d47411y.gif

I find it rather nice to have something left to the imagination. They did fine with fade to black, though some people didn't like it. They can show nudity, they just need make sure it's not uncanny.

As long as it's not underwear or fully clothed and/or drawn out love makin' scenes, I think I'll be fine.

Outside of sex scenes, I really won't care as long as it's not slapped on the screen in the form of a close-up of someones crotch, that's just awkward.

Yes.

Fade to black sucks. It suuuuuuuuuuuuucks. We're all adults here, and just having a fade to black scene without at least showing a little bit of foreplay first is just boring. CDprojektRed has full blown sex scenes and shows it works just fine.

Come on Bioware, bring on the filthy!

Only if it can be done tastefully. Otherwise, I would prefer creative camera angles. Given the choice between nudity and fade to black, however, I will choose nudity every single time. If you're going to have sex scenes, put some effort into making them feel real, not a bad imitation of hollywood.

I think there should. It's already an M rated game with sexual themes. Instead of doing fade to black I think they should just go all the way. Go big or go home.

I like unnecessary nudity. That's cause I'm male and prepubescent.

I think there is a middle ground. PG 13 maybe? Maybe it is spending too much on an unnecessary thing but different characters would foreplay differently. There could be some insight about how the person reacts with your character through the love scenes. They don't have to be full blown porn for us to see insight into their hearts.

No thanks. The love scenes were awkward enough and I don't like seeing animated nudity

Animated sex is usually terribly awkward and slightly comical. There's really no need for it. All it would do is ruin the big build up. :/

Mass Effect style full nudity, perhaps just a bit more, and some foreplay/rolling around the bed etc, then fade to black. No animated porn or full frontal nudity for me please, and no DA:O underwear sex scenes.

Mass Effect did it just about perfectly, in my opinion.

So long as there's no more underwear sex, then sure. For that matter, I don't much mind fade to black, either.

But the underwear... Let's take a Mass Effect example; why in the world was Samantha Traynor wearing her underwear in the shower? Bikini in the hottub, I get. But why the shower?

We don't necessarily need GTA V level nudity, or even God of War level nudity. Make clever use of the camera to keep everything that you don't want seen just out of the shot, that's fine.

Bioware should get themselves out of the uncanny valley before they do any nudity. Underwear or not, the sex scenes in their previous games were just creepy.

Oh, and I have to laugh at anyone in this thread who disparages The Witcher 2 as a "porn game" or "immature sex game." That's no better than what Fox News said about Mass Effect.

what's "filthy" about sex? (i will never get this, sex is enjoyable, nice, feels good etc. - but it is not filthy...unless you are into certain things (like all kinds of not normally enjoyed bodily-fluids etc.))

secondly:

yes, fade to black is sooo bad, come on this is no children's game, it's like an R-Rated-Movie for me, so why's there a problem with nudity? (american prudes ruling the day again? - sorry, but i am from europe and we don't see nudity as offensive (unless you stroll naked across the town-square!))

forced nudity is bad, but things - that are not even sexual in any way - like being imprisoned and stripped of ones gear (humiliation is - or was - part of the treatment of POWs in the middle ages for example), being naked while sleeping in ones room (i always sleep in the buff - it's better this way, i used to sleep in t-shirts and underpants (or specialized sleeping-wear), but i don't do that anymore), while cleaning oneself up (the shower scene in ME3 with Trainor was so bad...why would she wear a bikini in the shower? - even more, if she wants to seduce her commanding officer?) etc. - there's a lot of scenes where being undressed makes a lot of sense (and not being undressed looks kind of stupid)...

thirdly:

for sexual-scenes - why not go "all the way"? - i mean, this game is not for children and sex isn't filthy or bad (no matter what people say...church and prudes included!), so why not show it? (i mean: the earliest humans didn't have modesty or shame (and neither do young children!) - we condition ourselfs to feel that!)

greetings LAX

Not going to happen.

Just because the rating allows something doesn't mean we should do it, or that we're even interested. It has nothing to do with censorship, nothing to do with us thinking sex is "filthy", and nothing to do with us being afraid of the subject. It's a matter of taste, as in our taste and what we think fits DA's tone. We do plenty of things in DA that earn the M rating, and In our opinion having nudity/sex just because it's possible wouldn't make the game darker or edgier (if that was even something we thought was a worthwhile goal).

What we'll do in DAI with regards to these scenes is something we may or may not discuss prior to release-- so you might have to wait until the game comes out to see what direction we've chosen, I'm not sure. We've discussed improvements-- the team has criticisms of both DAO's and DA2's approach-- but whatever the changes, I can assure you that nudity and "full blown sex scenes" are not in the cards.

If someone prefers that, and holds up CDProjekt as an example of how it "works just fine"-- awesome. Witcher's that way. I'm certain that having games on the market with multiple approaches to the topic is quite viable.

Fade to black is just fine, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not the least bit interested in watching the characters have sex, I'm more interested in what they say and do before and afterward.

Sex scenes do little (if anything) to progress narrative or develop character.

I don't want to see nudity, but I have no problem with what was done in Mass Effect 1.

In my opinion, full frontal nudity can change the tone of how the gamer may approach it.

Example: Some people approach the Witcher 2 as a porno, with a plot to tie in one sex scene to the next. Many do not, but some do, and they buy the game and play it simply for the nudity.

Yeah, my gf asked me why there is nudity when Triss showed her boobs at the beginning and I told her it is a game like the Game of Thrones

Everyone knows it's alright for monsters to be topless.
It's like a rule. :P
