I don't know what would be more jarring, underwear being deemed true nudity in dragon age, or the game trying to be serious by showing what happens when barbie dolls collide. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

How does nudity serve the story at all?

At what point would I look at nudity and say: "Oh, right - these two are obviously in love because they're naked."

Or

"Ahh - now the big bad's plot will be foiled because of in game character nudity."

If it were somehow necessary - then sure, go for it.

But it won't be - the medium is still far too young to handle even the basics of romantic storylines with any real gravitas.

As long as it's relevant and appropriate, sure. Gratuitous nudity, nah, but there are some points where not having it makes things unnessecarily awkard (see: Sam's shower scene) or messes with the storyline. While I can understand it from a resource perspective, for example, I always think it's funny how the holy fires of Andraste will burn you to death if you try and walk through it with your gloves on, but it will absolutely not harm you if you're still wearing your bra?

I don't see a reason not to include it, as long as it's done tastefully and in a mature fashion. No more of the comic-book faux nudity of ME2/DA2/ME3, please. Either stand by the decision to make it seem natural and work towards that, or go back to fade to black.

I don't really care for the love scenes in these games, but if they would make them nude instead of wearing lingerie, it would make more sense.

If there is a plot that somehow would become better for its inclusion (broodmother comes to mind), then go for it.

Romance is not one of those plots in my opinion.

I don't need to see breasts, but I'd be annoyed if they do the underwear crap again. Is it so hard to do what the shampoo commercials do and simply imply that they're naked while the camera stays on the non-naughty parts?

Witcher 2 had nudity that was playful and fun. Heavy Rain had nudity, but in an entirely non-sexual context. If Bioware could manage either without it making the player feel like a creeper voyeuristic fanservice pervert, that would be fine. I doubt Bioware can do it though, based on what I've seen of their past work.

Maybe, maybe not.
But there should be well done, realistic underwear or sex scene if they are ever shown. Do it right or not do it at all.

Granny underwear is not good.
Having sex with clothes on is not good.
Shepard being an unknown twin brother to Cortez is not good.

Considering the amount of violence in DA, it's kind of shocking that there isn't any nudity.

DA is a mature 17+ series. No kids should be playing it.

Nudity if fine in R rated movies (and some PG-13) so it should be fine in an M rated game.

What would be great would be a toggle nudity choice in the options. If somebody is offended by nudity then they can turn it off and more people would be wearing clothes when they normally wouldn't.

There won't be any. BioWare are afraid or pissing people off, unlike CD Projekt Red, who shows what should be shown.
