Day/Night Cycles
Day and Night was poorly/cheaply done in DA2. In some levels, you can't even see the difference between night and day. I want to see a proper transition between night and day. I want to see the sunrise and the sunset. I want to see the gradual change in mood and lighting as the day progresses and shadows moving.
NPC AI
Day/Night should also affect NPC behavior. They should be doing different tasks depending on the time of the day. I want to see them going in and out of taverns, drinking, telling stories and playing music during the day and go to sleep at night. I don't want to see the same NPCs sitting at the same chair every single time.
Bigger maps and reduced loading time
Going into a cave or a dungeon from the open world without encountering the loading screen would be awesome. It would enhance the sense of immersion. Levels should be loaded in the background so that loading times would be minimized. Some sort of loading trick such as slow opening of a door or slowly walking through the entrance of a cave would be much preferable than a pure loading screen. BattleField 3 showcased huge open terrain maps. I'm hoping that I can see some of that in DA3 as well. In ME and DA, it's obvious that the objects in the distance are just a huge wallpaper. It'd be great to know that the mountains in the distance are actual mountains I can go to instead of just 2D background scenery.
Weather Effects
Rain, snow, ash would enhance the atmosphere of the game. Roads and pavements would look wet. Rain drops splashing on roofs and roads. Hills partly covered with snow.
Destruction and Terrain Deformation
This is one of the things that Frostbite is known for. Not sure what DA3 can do with it but I guess it'd be nice to see craters from fireball/firestorms, falling trees, broken glass, broken wooden fences and crates.
Use of Slow-mo effects
I like how fluid the combat in DA2 is but sometimes it happens way too fast for me to appreciate the graphics and the animation. When I perform a cross-class combo, it'd be nice for time to slow down a bit as I watch the blood spurt out from the bodies of my enemies or see their frozen bodies shatter into pieces. And although I know that pausing is a staple feature in Bioware games dating all the way back to Baldur's gate, I'd much prefer a slomo than a complete freeze.
Better Particle Lighting
The light from a fireball should affect the surrounding as it travels to its target. In DA2, it's really not noticeable.
Thanks for reading my feedback
