What Kind of Ending Do You Want to See?

I for one am hoping there are two different endings at least. I guess you could think similar to Origins. One ending should end on a happier note and the other on a sadder note that way all the players can have an ending they want. Of course the endings could have different variations based on your choices but the outcome for your character should be the main difference in the endings. As far as the sad ending it doesnt have to have your character dieing but maybe being forced to leave forever (similar to Lord of the Rings).
Most importantly though is that the characters need a conclusion. They cant just mysteriously disappear like Hawke and the Warden. This protagonist needs to have an actual end to his story before we get anymore hero's in future games.

All I'll say is this.... no deus ex machinas. Introduce important god-like characters sometime before the very end of your story.
And as a general note make sure we the players know what the hell we're choosing. Not just in an info-dump needed prior to the choice but if you can foreshadow the choice beforehand. Perhaps show why something needs to be done long before we come to the choice. Too often I feel in these later BioWare games we get incomplete data to make a choice.
Orzammar's a good DA example of how I met, saw the dwarven politics first hand, saw the state of their castes, and delved into the Deep Roads all before I made a choice for king. Similarly done in the Landsmeet. I knew Alistair all game and Anora for at least two missions including having her sell me out and send me to jail. I knew the people I was getting into bed with and the choice to make one or both king/queen wasn't a surprise choice.

+1.
I just want a plot that makes sense. I usually wouldn't think that's too much to ask, but ME3 as shipped had a pretty weak plot at the end. I don't care if it's happy, sad, or cliffhanger. I just want it to make sense within the world and its rules.

Mine too. Even though I felt cheated.

I did in a way too. It was really sad, and depressing, but by far one of the most powerful endings ever. And I loved how you were able to play as your son afterwards when he was grown up. That was a great touch.

What Kind of Ending Do You Want to See?
An ending that sets us up for a Dragon Age 4. What can I say? I love Dragon Age. I'll no doubt keep buying games through Dragon Age Seventy-Two.
I enjoyed both previous endings, though. It was enough closure that I knew that my character hadn't fallen off a cliff somewhere, but not so much that I couldn't head-canon my own perfect ending.

It is very hard to say, as (unlike ME) Dragon Age hasn't followed (Or tried to follow) the typical trilogy format. So very little can be speculated (lulz) in terms of how a desired ending for me would be. I have no knowledge of the general setting, or what characters will play what roles within the context of the story. If there is any amount of competence from the writers, the whole mage vs templar issue will not be the entire focus of the central conflict for the course of the story. Hopefully it will just be a leading point to a much more significant or interesting story.
I don't want a black and white final choice, nor do I want them to flip every decision and event I've experienced on it's butt and make the ending meaningless in regards to my prior actions.

Not too good, though. I want the hero to lose a lot during the course of the game. It'd make a victorious/positive ending all the more sweeter, and a bad ending all the more devastating.
And when I say, "lose a lot", I don't mean battles, though that too. I want him/her to lose important things, and some people. A companion, I'd say. Go all Aerith on us.

The Warden's ending in DAO or DAA was fine. DA2 just had to ruin it at the final possible moment. I'm still holding out hope for that to be retconned or otherwise dealt with so that the DAO/DAA endings can be maintained.
How was DA2 ending ruined? I think what happened to the main villain and then Hawke + friends walking away through the templars who did not know what to do at that moment was quite a nice way to end the game. Varric and that seeker after that just closed the book/story with relatively open ending.
Anyway about the topic: as I said in another thread, some kind of epic feeling after the ending would be nice. Feeling of accomplishment. I dont think that telling where everyone got afterwards is absolutely necessary (like it was missing in me2). If you have multiple endings, just make sure they LOOK different enough

Also if there is a depressing ending dont make it like Origins where u know somebody HAs to die if you didnt do the ritual. Make it be a spur of the moment thing. Somethinf the protagonist doesnt forsee should happen adn forces the player to make a choice on the spot about how to handle it.

-An epic twist / mind****.
-No loose ends.
-Let us know what happens to all of the characters
-Closure
-Dramatic scenes - Possible deaths of major characters
-Epilogue sequence showcasing how our choices have affected Orlais
What I don't want to see
-The main character mysteriously disappearing at the end *Cough* Warden *cough* Hawke *cough*
