Any ending is acceptable, as long it doesn't completely negate player agency, as the endings of DA2 and ME3 infamously did.

All I want is an ending where my choices made in the game matter and directly effect the outcome.

Speaking in theoreticals here, if I raise a grand army and unite disparate factions like the Qunari and Templars to fight a greater menace, I want to see kossith warriors and cannon batteries backing a shieldwall of knights as we throw down on the bad guys. Not some meaningless number like ME3 "war assets".

What I want to see
-An epic twist / mind****.
-No loose ends.
-Let us know what happens to all of the characters
-Closure
-Dramatic scenes - Possible deaths of major characters
-Epilogue sequence showcasing how our choices have affected Orlais

What I don't want to see
-The main character mysteriously disappearing at the end *Cough* Warden *cough* Hawke *cough*

This. If Bioware has the main character just disappear at the end....*sigh*....again... I will cry. Please Bioware, don't this. Years ago this was fine for me, but by now it's been so overdone.

If going by the title of "Inquisition", I kind of want ... the protagonist to be betrayed, framed, and executed by the Chantry or whatever organization they become an agent to. (wicked and twisted bet I'm not the only one to think such things, though) No big organization, in history, have stayed completely innocent or free of bloodshed.

Anyway that could be a choice or because of the choices made throughout the game, it can go another way. But hopefully, after ME3 fiasco, they plan to always have a sense of closure for the companions, protagonist, and the world the game inhabited.

Realistically, one that doesn't end the series.

I would LOVE for there to be an overall somewhat-hidden long-term "put the pieces together" quest, where if you assemble ALL the bits, when you get to the Climax, which is some kind of multi-sided confrontation scene with you, Templars, Mages, Chantry Reps, maybe some Qunari, Dwarves, and Elves thrown in there, you TOTALLY pull the rug out from under everyone, tell them they're all idiots, shame them into submission, and then go off and TOTALLY BEAT THE BIG BAD LIKE A REDHEADED STEPCHILD.

I would assume the ultimate Big Bad would be some kind of master manipulator who is trying to stir the pot and keep all these factions at each others' throats in order to accomplish some dark goal.  Maybe Flemeth.  Or maybe Flemeth is trying to help you against Corypheus and Friends.  Whatevs.  Or maybe they're fighting each other and you gotta deal with both of them.

If you don't do this, the end would more involve fighting your way past the various factions in order to get to the Big Bad.  You win, but it's a pretty ugly victory depending on how many of them you could convince to stop being jerks and go back in their respective corners.

And then, of course, once you've got this tentative peace established and things are looking up, EVERYTHING GOES CRAZY.

FADE TO BLACK.

End credits.

I want mutliple possible ends, with one good one.
I would be interested in a WTF ending though, sort of like what they did in the silent hill series. That would be kinda fun.

I liked the DA:O approach. Lots of little endings to individual plot threads that combine into many different permutations. It felt more realistic that way.

I want an ending without plot holes, deus ex, but which depends on what I've done during the game. Example: If I helped the templars eradicate the mages, then make the ending show me that. If I instead helped the mages, eradicated the templar order and the chantry, then make it show. I know that these things probably won't happen and that every ending will feature some kind of middle ground, but please make my decisions matter!

- No forced sacrifice
- More than one
- No last minute add-in to the plot.

If this isn't the last of the series we don't need something as spectacular as with Mass effect 3

After the last 2 games i'm neither sure what DA3 will be about and what kind of ending there would be.

Endings don't have to be bittersweet. How about the novel idea that your choices actually give you different possible endings. It would give the game a longevity it might not have otherwise. DA2 took away some of your choices and you couldn't change anything. If the prospect of different possible endings was considered based on choices made throughout the game, fans could sculpt their endings. Those who want to go out in a blaze of glory would have their way, and those who want to save their character...with a happy ending....(omg, not that), could do so.

Oh, and of course, better romance, where you actually can speak to your love interest and the other characters in the game, like DA Origins.

Exactly this.
I want to decide what happens to my main character (if they survive), and to get some near term epilogue for every major character and faction that plays off the decisions I made in DA3, DA:O, DA:A, Witch Hunt (assuming that's not brought out in DA3, which I hope it is,) and whatever there is to carry over from DA2. I don't want fade to black with no resolution, and I don't want the main character walking off into the sunset. I want them to have some clear purpose or, y'know, game state that we can actively set.

And for DA4, I could see it teasing the fractured Southern Thedas staring down the Tevinter Empire. Then in DA4 we'll pick up a few years later with a new protag and go from there. ;)

... And then I want another excellent alt-rock song send-off. Posted Image

I guess something akin to DA:O, in which there are various endings based on the choices you made throughout the game, including an ending where your protagonist etc can die and one where they all live.

One that isn't crap and recognizes choices made throughout the game.
