I can't post in the ME3 forums...so I have to post this here.
I don't know where I went wrong...
The catalyst was going over all the options...and the final dialog choices were "let's get this over with" and "I refuse".
I assumed "I refuse" was meant for the refusal ending...which I didn't want.
So I choose "let's get this over with".
I thought I would be able to choose between the three after that...but apparently that meant I wanted to go with synthesis.
I meant to go with Destroy...and now I completely wasted all that time on the game to end it with a choice I didn't want.
I'm so upset with myself right now. I basically ruined my whole playthrough because I messed this last part up.
Where did I go wrong and how can I prevent this from happening again?
ME3...ending?

Mate, I've said it before more than once, just register your game.Spectre David Shepard wrote...

http://social.biowar...es_register.php
That's all you have to do, click a link, the ME3 register options are the top three on that page, you'll probably have to enter some trivial details. And that's it, done.
It's probably going to take less time than it took you to type out that post. And then you can post in the boards where this question is going to be answered quickly and probably by a bunch of people who've encountered it multiple times and know exactly what you're on about rather than eventually and by one of the relative handful that come here regularly, not all of whom can even answer ME3 questions anyway (I think I'm not the only one who hasn't even bothered playing ME3 to completion).
What you're doing is like asking for flight information at the local railway station. Yeah, someone might be able to answer and that answer might be fairly accurate, but it'd be a hell of a lot better for you to go ask at the airport even if you've got to give your name and address to the guy on the gate at the car park. All these ME3 questions you keep asking would be so much more readily and extensively answered in the correct forums. Just a few mouse clicks.

I've tried that...but since my email for my Xbox live differs from my email used on here...it doesn't allow me to register the game on here.
Anyways...I replayed the final mission...and needless to say, I feel dumb.
I was completely unaware of the three different routes to take. I thought you went into the middle no matter what choice you make.

Then update your email on live. It should work. Or update it here. I would think that's all it should take. They need to match and if you edit one so they match (which you should be able to do as people do change email addresses) then it should work.
Also, don't beat yourself up over the ME3 ending you picked. Destroy is not as awesome as you think. Or just play it again and choose destroy this time. But I can understand not wanting to play it again given how much I didn't care for it on whole. Just imagine you chose destroy and watch destroy on youtube. Just make sure you pick one of the EC DLC ones because they sell it better.

1) Do what they suggested above.
2) Just load the last auto-save, it's right before Maurader Shields, so yeah, you have to play a bit (15-20 mins of slow as molasses Shep walk - I curse the devs for not putting an autosave in with the starchild). Still, I did 'em all before and after the DLC (which makes it more palatable you should D/L it now - free), so as my Krogran says in the MP "Stop your whining!".
