I'll kill her if it furthers my end goal of saving the world but I won't go out of my way to.Frostbringer wrote...
I don't think Felicia did anything wrong with Tallis voice acting. Kill her if you must, but I sure won't.

Point taken. I'm not sure why I didn't care much about Cullen, though... And Aveline also trusted me a lot even though I was a mage... Huh...

I think Tallis was the only person that bothered me about because I was helping her and the Qun, without any consent from me other than not playing the DLC. I didn't help Cullen with much though, or many of the other templars.
Cullen doesn't bother you as much because dealing with his character doesn't require playing a ******, whereas dealing with Tallis does. I experience the same irritation with a certain Skyrim character for the same reason.

Huh. Go fig. As I said, I don't play ME games because I'm totally not into sci-fi, so I'll have to take your word for it.Sylvanpyxie wrote...
You'd lose your money on that bet.I'm betting that the characters' faces were not modeled on Keith David or Seth Green.
It matters when it's used to market the DLC. Had it been promoted in some way other than "FELICIA DAY is Tallis! Join FELICIA DAY in Mark of the Assassin!" I probably wouldn't have cared. I know that Morrigan was more or less modeled on somebody or other (Claudia Black?) and it doesn't bug me. Dragon Age: Origins wasn't advertised as an opportunity to frolic with the actor. Just like ME wasn't billed as a chance to hang out with Keith David and Seth Green. They were there. They did their jobs (well, as I understand it), and they went back to careers. And if somebody didn't like the way Steve Valentine delivered "Swooping is bad," nobody got defensive and accused the speaker of badmouthing Steve Valentine. He was the voice actor, and while a criticism might reflect on his performance, it had nothing to do with him, personally. With Felicia Day/Tallis, the lines are blurred. Criticism of her performance seems to be taken as personal criticism of the actor, and that's a dangerous line to cross.Does it really matter if the VA comes from a Celebrity A List or not? Does it matter if their faces are used to model the character? If they're good at the job it really shouldn't matter in the least.
As for why I didn't like Tallis, it's simple: she had all the good lines. Hawke and the other companions were all there to make her look good, and she didn't get her fair share of the lumps. Why was she being protected? No one else was immune. It doesn't have anything to do with FD. Not really. I thought her voice acting was not up to the caliber of the rest of the cast, but she doesn't have the mileage that some of the voice talent has.

Strange - I always thought that Keith David and Seth Green were the single greatest VAs in the Mass Effect franchise.... I also think Alec Newman did an exceptionally good job with Sebastian in Dragon Age 2.Just please stay away from "celebrity guest stars" in DA3.
"Celebrity Guest Stars" work exceptionally well, they just need to be good actors.
I can't speak for anybody else, but I would rather not see too close an association between the VA and the face model. It's acting, not self-insert fanfic.

1)She was created by Felicia Day.
2)Bioware promoted that Felicia Day was going to be in the game
3)People felt that Mark of Assasin was just a vehicle for Felicia Day.
4)Her voice acting was not good.
5)Her character was annoying, and you were forced to be friends with her.
Honestly, I never heard of Felicia Day before Dragon Age, but I also never heard of Jessica Chobol either before Mass Effect, so I guess I have different perspective.
If you add the fact the thread is not have as a party member, but kill the character, I think there are some deep psychologicial problems there. If you add the fact that Jessica Merizan is person that seems to attacked a lot, I kinda get the feeling that some gamer are guys leaving in their mom's basement.

TIM's face model is a different person. A different person who looks like Martin Sheen, but still a different person.

Joking or not, and I'd say not, it reeks of contempt for the fans, which has almost been a hallmark of David Gaider.

Yes. There are many reasons why we could kill Tallis. But I think David Gaider was only talking about those who want to kill fictional characters for the sake of it. The OP wasn't eloquent either.ChurchOfZod wrote...
This thread brought me right back down to earth from my excitement of the DA3 announcement and reminded me of why I'm buying it from the bargain bin. There's plenty of reaons for a player to want to kill Tallis, all well elucidated here. It's a pretty abrasive move to diminish the wishes of a segment of players, no matter how small or large by calling them psychopaths and then antagonize said segment by threatening to make the character unkillable.

I get it if that was his intent, but it seems like the comment was laser focused on the OP and existed just to be a malicious cutdown.

The fact that characters get some hate isn't a strike against them. I've long-maintained it's better than apathy, and I've never encountered a reason to change that opinion.
As a long time soap opera viewer, which provide ample examples for both, I can say apathy is better than hate. Apathy for a character has never made me fastforward through their scenes or stop watching entirely like hate has.

Not sure who Edward Cullen is but the Templar Cullen? Yes. He must die. I must break him.Under a rock ? Is there space under there for me ?
I have been trying to forget the Twilight saga and it's emo sparkly vampires that don't melt with sunlight ever existed!!!
Cullen and Tallis are fine.
I like her character. I would like it if we were able to deprogram her from the Qun. She would be a killer agent for the Inquisition
Oh he's in that movie Twilight? I could not care less about that movie. I don't even know the character names.

Since Tallis was just doing her job as a qunari agent (and doing it well) when she walked away with the Heart of the Many, and Hawke was the one who just stood there like a slack-jawed yokel and watched her go, maybe we should kill Hawke instead.
While apathy is still treason, I'm fairly sure "the powers that be united to lock me in stasis, just so no harm would come to their favorite little mary sue" is a decent enough excuse, and one that any thedan citizen who ever met tallis would believe

Well, in most Bioware CRPGs you can effectively fast forward through a character by kicking them out of the party or just leaving them at home and not take them. So it doesn't really matter if a character or two doesn't click for you.

As far as the DLC goes, for me it was meh. I liked the Qunari bit, but overall forgettable.
