That would be great. I'd prefer to choose one specialization with some relevance in the game and with a longer skill tree than two specs with no releveance and shorter skill trees.

I'm pretty sure they said this was a direct response to how sanguine everyone was about you being a blood Mage in DA2.

Yeah, that was pretty bad (though almost nobody recognized you were a mage either, despite fireballing enemies in the streets of Kirkwall).
Though making the people recognize you're a blood mage (or a templat, in a minor extent) will be a lot easier than recognized a force mage or a berseker. They have to work on the specialization to give them a more backgroung.
