When i first played Dragon age I played as a mage, and the story was fantastic:) except one thing.... There is a moment in the story when you're asked if you want to resort to blood magic, and blood magic still being illegal. So i became a blood mage:devil:. The spells were not that good if i'm honest. And when you go thru the game, you see other NPC's that have resorted to blood magic and is being hunted down and killed for their obediance. So when i did this i thought it would bring make the game some what more exciting. I was wrong!

It did not do anything, the gaurds did not even notice my blood magic:crying:. What is the purpose of it then....

Then Dragon age 2 was released, and i thought, maby they had fixed it, so i bought it..... Yet again i was wrong... They made it worse!

But being a BioWare fan, i did not stop there, when SWTOR was released i bought that one as well. Here they had a story just for the evil, and it was by far the most popular and the best.

That is what dragon age needs, a story for thoose who desires to play as an evil character. A story when you can resort to blood magic and when people around you notice that.

Agreed so much! Blood magic needs to have a bigger impact on the gameplay. For instance, in DA2 when the "Exotic Wonder of the East" tried to manipulate you via blood magic, a blood mage should have been able to break her hold on their own. Or when you use blood magic in front of a Templar and he doesn't notice a thing, That kinda thing.

As well as in Dragon age there was a moment in the quest"Broken Circle" There Uldred had via blood magic taken control over the tower. And when you are in the top chamber there is an intresting conversation. Uldred says something about you being unstoppable with a demon behind you, and there is an answere, something in line with "you mean like an alliance". You can go so far in the story to almost joining Uldreds side and possibly become possessed by a demon. but then you have no choise than to asnwere him that you would not like it!

It is such a pity that a rpg of this caliber should lack the two thing that makes a rpg an rpg, Choise and diversity! To make the story what ever you like.

Well, knowing BioWare, I will not be surprised if they cut Blood Magic at all. Leave us with human-only pro-Chantry protagonist and Blood Mages will be solely emenies.

A mage could break the exotic wonder on her own, but I would have love for a blood mage to be able to not choose between sending her back to the templars and killing her.

I just don't want blood magic to be without consequence like it was in DA:O and DA2. Seriously, here's Anders yelling at Merrill for her blood magic while I'm in the background merrily dancing templars on my puppet strings. If the stuff is really that scary, and I choose to use it, the world and the characters should at least react to me using it.

Don't say that...You'll give Bioware ideas!

I think they should cut Blood Magic as a PC option. Or, alternatively, require it. It's something that should totally transform the story, it's not something that can just be an option.

It's treatment in the past two games has been profoundly destructive to the DA setting.

I know Mike Laidlaw's been talking about possibly giving the player just one specialization and allowing that choice of specialization to impact the story the way an origin would, and unlock unique content.

If we're allowed to do blood magic at all in the next game, I think it needs to be a very big deal. Even David Gaider has said that the games do a poor job of representing just how powerful, dangerous, and eventually corrupting the practice of blood magic is. In my opinion, blood magic ought to mean ridiculous amounts of power, with quickly draining health (the kind that tempts you to use the blood of others to keep it going - because that's consistent with the lore). We should have unique conversation options that allow us to use mind domination on others. Certain companions should refuse to romance us unless we force them with mind domination. Every time we use blood magic in a battle and an NPC lives to talk about it, he or she should always be either terrified or impressed. And we should have unique interactions with demons that we wouldn't have otherwise, even if we choose not to deal with them.
