You knew this thread would come up again in the DA3 forum.
Since you still can't import your characters, will having to play as another human be a deal breaker for you?
Is fixed race again a deal breaker?

Nope. Would prefer having races, but it's no deal-breaker.

No. I almost always played a human in Origins and enjoyed being human in DA2. Having more options in DA3 would be cool, but it's likely I'd play a human regardless.

No wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

A disappointment, that's what it is.

Nope not a deal breaker. Though they can give the human PC different backgrounds like ME and let us choose from them.

Yes. I play FRPGs to experience the world from different viewpoints - only human again and it's a flat out no buy from me.
People may argue that it could still be great, but it won;t be the great experience as an FRPG player I want.

Yeah different backgrounds could be good.

It would be for me. I really want race selection back again.
It is not confirmed, isn't it?

While I fully appreciate racial customization, and some of my most favourite character creators went so far as to offer sub-races, I can't say that it would entirely be a deal breaker for me.
There reaches a point where developers want to tell a very specific story, and as such there is bound to be limitations, racial limitations is something I can personally live with. I'm more afraid of other limitations that may be announced before this game releases.

A little disappointing but definitely not a deal breaker. Few things would be a deal breaker for me right now honestly. xp

The last I heard was "We'll See.." about four or five months ago. Which makes me wonder if they won't just include it in MP. That would actually be a slap in the face.

Nah. But having only a single origin would be mega disappointing. Not a deal breaker, but MEGA disappointing.

The backgrounds could be cool, but I would want them as a playable section and to affect things more profoundly than they did in ME1. More like the origins in Origins, even if there is not a selectable race.
If we are stuck with one race, I'd like much more racial/background diversity with our companions. In DA:O, we had an elf, a dwarf, a golem, a Kossith and a dog, with four humans. In DA2, we had two elves and a dwarf, with five human companions.
So more divergent races and backgrounds for companions, please.

Has fixed race been confirmed, or are we merely speculating?
At any rate, I would most definitely want to see race and origin selection return, but it wouldn't be a "deal breaker", per se. Disappointing, as others have said, but I would get over it. It's pretty low on my list of concerns.

...unless they let you import your Warden for MP?

Well considering we have the restrictive dialogue wheel system and a fully voiced main character again, I'm doubting we'll be anything other than a crass human who speaks in blues and reds.

I don't mind, I always play humans anyhows... Well ok, in DA:0 I played city elf. Because the background story was way more interesting than being some stupid lord's son.

Not a deal breaker, no, but I'd still prefer it if we got to choose our race this time.
If they're not going to give us different races, they could give us just different background for a fixed race. I'd be all for that too.

No, many RPGs use fix races. It isn't a requirement. I'd like to have the choice, but I'm sure it wouldn't make that much of a difference anyway.

YES. I won't buy the game if there is again a preset character.
And if they'd include it only in the MP... that would be such middle finger to all those who don't care about MP, that I would do the same thing and never again buy Bioware game. So I really hope these are just rumours that won't happen.

No, not a deal-breaker in the slightest. There are other things I care about far more.

No.
As far as multiple origins go, it really depends on the story - in DAO the main character is basically reborn after joining the Grey Wardens, his or her past does not matter outside few dialogues here and there. Now, imagine BGs charname, who was not raised in Candlekeep, never met Imoen and maybe is not even Bhaalspawn.
