What I'd want from any LI (male or female) is simple:

No more damaged goods. No more quasi psychopaths hellbent on some single-minded mission of vengeance, hatred, whatever.

Can't two people just.. get along without truckloads of drama?

No Anders is unfortunately dead with most of my femhawkes having disbatched him to a better place. May his suffering be at end.

Also the Prince (what's his name) was a massive disappointment.

Cullen... also a disappointment. But he has great potential.

I am good with all types. I happen to like all the male characters that have been romanceable (well, there is one I have a hard time with, but it was a less than ideal setup from the beginning...no need to trash on the character.). Only thing I don't want is a railroaded path for said LI's (example: Thane and Jacob in me3). If the characters will be more involved and dynamic to the story, let their arcs play out differently with player choices. Good example is Alistair in DAO. He had multiple paths that he could take, based on the choices the player made. Even a few surprising ones. Very fun!

Yes, Nathanial was suprisingly sympathetic and interesting. I wish my Warden had him for a romance-option instead of Anders (who wasn't Anders but simply an Abmoniation with his face for me) or Fenris the leather-clad sex-slave...

If we must do comparisons, I suppose the closest thing, from a different developer, would be Bishop(NwN2). The difference would obviously be that, unlike Bishop, this character would keep the angry bitterness and jaded nature internal, outwardly portraying a deceptively happy attitude.

It isn't a character archetype that is hiding sorrow, it's a character archetype that has moved so far beyond sorrow that all they have left is hatred, anger and bitterness. The personality I suggested isn't the type of character that would weep into his pillow, much more likely to scream bloody murder in someone's face and threaten bodily harm, or fob them off with a joke I suppose.

Now that it's clarified, I imagine there won't be a lot of interested in it.

It's just so mean of Bioware to wave that lovely man-candy at us and then never make him romanceable.
