Now that would be Vladimir Kulich, the viking king from the thirteenth warrior. He was kind of a cool character as well. Somber, earnest, honorable, but not in a paladin kind of way...

An over-confident snarky type, yes, kind of an ass. Finds himself in a desperate situation and PC is there for him, brings out his softer side.
A silly goof that makes light of everything and is an all-around nice guy, takes a bit to get beneath the surface.

And yes, I support Gaider romances, they make me squee they make me cry they make me buy!

I'd love a romance option with a character like Atton Rand from Kotor 2. That would be a wild ride.
An older character for once would be great. I always had a soft spot for Canderous Ordo in Kotor and I was bitterly disappointed when Sagacious Zu from Jade Empire was not a romance option.

In DA2 I only play as ManHawke.

To me FemHawke doesn't exist because the VA did a terrible job, IMO, she just sounds like she is perpetually bored whenever she speaks. Which is all the fricking time cos hey shes the main character.

Needless to say I found it impossible to finish the FemHawke playthru.

So for that reason I felt compelled to do the "Het" romances with Isabela and Merill only; and didn't get to see the differences between that and the "lesbian" versions. Sadly.
I like to explore as much of the content in the game as possible. I often replay to romance diff companions, or pursue diff quests, or make diff decision.
It also means that I only experienced the male romances from the "gay" perspective; and didn't touch them as FemHawke.

For myself, I found the romance with Merill as revolting as I found Merill herself. Not because I disliked the het of it, but because I just despised her as a character. She was supposed to be the naive girl next door; and instead she is the Moron from Moron Mountain. And her romance is just as stupid, and painful, as every other interaction with her. Also its vaguely disturbing in a older man taking advantage of a young girl not ready for "adult relationships" sort of way.

Isabela on the other hand, I just loved. You can choose to make it just a sex thing, or you can take your time and get IMO one of the most rewarding of romances in the game.
I can't even say how awesome I found Isabela, her character, and her romance. The mix of hesitance, fear, and confidence that she displays as she realises she is really falling for Hawke is just wonderful IMO - fits her completely.

For the boys, as I said I only experienced them from the gay perspective so I don't know how relevant it is; but I enjoyed Fenris both as a character and his romance. It fit him, even if it was exceedingly frustrating for me.
And Anders - I can't even begin to say how much I loved Ander's romance. It was sweet and tragic. My second favourite romance from BW after Kaidan in ME3.

In DA3 if they included an exclusively het romance like the romance with Isabela; then id be sold.

I'm almost embarassed how much I want a male Kossith LI (those horns were pretty stylin'), but not a Qunari.  Unless he has some sort of crisis of faith, I think that way lies another 'chaste' romance ala Sebastian.  
I also third AbsoluteApril's suggestions, and the idea of Morrigan-style guy.  I don't really enjoy playing male protags and man was I sad when I learned that Morrigan wasn't romanceable for female Wardens. 
A Dragon Age counterpart for everyone's favorite Space Raptor Batman wouldn't be unappreciated, either...

I think romances in BW games have reach a point where it can be used for more. It isn't a simple fling or to satisfy requests; romance subplots can be another tool to explore another, more subtler side to the companions.

Someone pointed out a tragic kind of romance, and I like that kind of direction. Maybe a character completely drowned in apathy, aimless, and like in fairy-tales, love come to rescue. If a romance isn't pursued, the protagonist still has the ability to save that character. That kind of dramatic romance subplots can add more to the dark tone Dragon Age wants to truly embrace.

I want a... not nice LI. As in, I want an evil romance. We had Zevran, who killed for money, but he was still a *nice* person, for the most part. He was funny and got along well with others, etc. I want a broody, manipulative, essentially evil person that I can either tell off or form some jacked up sort of relationship with, ala friend and rivalmance. (I should probably mention that I fully plan on playing an insane, templar-loving mage-killer... hence where this all comes from. Gotta have someone that can roll with that. )

Admittedly, I have no idea how that would even be pulled off in a graceful manner, but it's something I'd like to see.
