hello all :)
I would like to return to an issue I addressed earlier but now once again become topical given that they new consoles are coming. (http://social.biowar...1/index/5217069)

I'm talking of course about some sort of cloud-baserd system for savefiles. I think there is a need to transport files between systems.
I have switched from ps3 to xbox360 and, although nothing is announced, it is not impossible to imagine that DA3 coming to Wii U and anyway, any subsequent parts of the series will appear on other systems.
I have really put down pretty much involvement (and love) in this series and would like to see some sort continuity in my gaming regardless if I change console.

I imagine something in the lines of "halo waypoint" or similar. Ubisoft seems to have something similar in their ustore (with achivment and whatnot) It could be some kind of service you could embed in a part of a larger company based initiative?

Maybe it'll be with origin accounts( I hope not, my PSN ID is stuck on my brothers EA account and he put down his date of birth incorrectly, IE why I can't post on the ME3 forum section. I spent a whole month trying to fix it.

if this comes out on the next gen consoles, there'll be the slight issue of importing decisions

different coding, the saves would be invalid

What would need to be done is have one program read all the decisions and store them. Each decision probably falls under a 1 or 2, or 1, 2 or 3 style mechanism. Then they'd need another program to translate these decisions for the appropriate system.

Doable, might not be worth the effort required though.

Why not just create a program that lets you toggle all the choices they've flagged on or off? Might be a lot of choices, but for returning players who care, it would be meaningful and worth the work.

... I doubt the coding of the save file across the 3(or 4) systems would be all that different, the only problem with a cloud based service would be that you'd need the internet connection to actually use it. I know i transfered some of my xbox saves to the cloud in hopes of savegaurding them a possible rrod (i only use my xbox 1 - 2 months every year, so i'm still not sure if its not going to pull that one on me <<). But considering your game progress is already being logged on the bioware/ea social servers i don't see how (aside from datastorage requirement) it would be hard to synch up savegames cross platform. (our xbox/ps3/pc accounts are already linked to our bioware social account required to log in, so an option to toggle 'multip platform' saving wouldn't be overly far fetched)

The only reason i can see why they don't do it is because now people have to buy the previous game a second time if they switch systems instead of just being able to use their saves.
