I have total respect for how Female Hawke in DA2 initially dresses quite tough! (no boob shaped armor, or scantily clad attire - thank god!).

I had a little problem with not being able to maker her bulkier, a claymore wielding warrior would be bulkier, but alas, it's a minor concern, given how appreciative I am of the armor designs.

That said, there are a few moments where I think character designs over step the mark in relation to being exploitive of sexualized design, rather then natural or believable.

ME3 had a huge problem with making it's female characters bustier and less "natural" and therefore less "grounded" in comparison to the first game. I like believable characters, not manipulative designs seeking to attract my attention in all the wrong ways.

Make good characters through good writing, sure they can look beautiful, but only in the most practical sense of the word. A warrior on the front lines of a war would not be wearing heavy makeup for instance, or a chainmail bikini :P

By all means have romances, sex scenes and all that - but treat us like adults, not teenagers.

Just a heads up, I do not expect BW to make DA3 more sexualized.

O for the love of the maker...Don't turn a few side boob shots into something it's not.As a woman, I find this statement rather sickening.

I think a character like Isabela is OK when she's part of a diverse cast of female characters, like in DA2

ME2 and 3 was more problematic because every character seemed to be required to be made sexy.

As a woman, I find other women trying to speak for every other woman offensive, especially when said women do not understand the issues at hand.

Side boob, when in context of a romance scene, for instance, is rarely objected to at all, by female gamers.  I actually don't know anyone who complained about the content of ME1's love scenes, other than the fact that they were mostly all the same.

Read the OP again, or stop jumping into threads to insult people with no cause.  I can honestly say that I have never seen an informed or well written post by you, Emzamination.

Your claims of female character being too busty and unnatural is not only disingenious but offensive. Some women naturally have larger breast than others, there is nothing unnatural about it.Maybe you should get over your own insecurities.

Dragon Age needs much more inspiration from Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo, less from Disney.

As a lifelong fan of Frank Frazetta, I am a fan of oversexualization and hope it's present in spades. I never thought that was much of an issue in Dragon Age. If anything, any less sexualized and we might as well all join the Chantry of Light.

I feel like I'm one of the few who pays more attention to the characters' personality rather than their boobs.

And props to a fellow forumite who had the same excellent thought at the same moment!

No, everyone should be in armored banana hammocks and chain mail bikinis. Tis the only way.

Large breasts are not unnatural, no. Isabela's boobs, however, defied gravity and looked like she had implants. That's not natural nor beautiful.

Yeah, but I think the problem is that not ALL women are overly busty. Especially not atheletic ones. Some people are extremely flat-chested, some people have double ds; this doesn't mean that every important character needs giant boobs though.

I read somewhere in the science magazine that boobs could somehow defy gravity. So it is legit.

I must admit, I disliked the physique and mannerisms of Female Hawke in Dragon Age 2, for a number of reasons. Though nothing can be done with the mannerisms and we will all undoubtedly be stuck with the same animations, it would be nice if there was a bulkier and/or leaner frame available in Character Creation.

Without removing the previous default physique.

At least if it was an option everyone would be happy for a nano-second.. Before complaining about the fact that the option exists and it's just "unnecessary".

yeah but the majority audience is men and as long as that is true these things will exist in games. im not being a jerk but most games are designed for women, not saying they cant play t but it seems like an oversight in the industry

I'm not sure I'd call it over-sexualisation for Dragon Age. Nor would I say that every instance of sexualisation is treating us like teenagers. I don't think there's anything wrong in it if it isn't overused or exploitative. I didn't see much (if any) instances of chain-mail bikinis.

From your descriptions of a more 'practical beauty' and such I wonder if perhaps you are wanting something outside of Dragon Age's more fanciful take on the fantasy genre.

In the case of the female PC I'd rather they gave her a normal walk... What's with the idiotic swagger? I certainly don't walk/run like that. Am I just a manly woman?:?

I think that Gaider showed in a recent presentation that mroe than 40% of the gamers are female, so that's definitely not true.

I really think Bioware has the best female characters in the biz, so I trust them to handle the female characters in the next installment in the same respectful way. I didn't consider any of the characters "over-sexualized" in any way. Isabella is comfortable with her sexuality and I, as someone who considers herself a feminist, really appreciate seeing her portrayed as such. She has a strong personality, dresses as she pleases and doesn't apologize for it. And if you're reading the comics, she's aces as a ship's captain to boot.

There are waaaaayyyy too many games out there where females are pure eye candy and have no real purpose in the game. I think you're barking up the wrong tree.

You need to be a bit more specific. What characters in ME 3 were over-sexualized? Why do you consider them sexualized?

Miranda, for example, looked as sexualized as ever, as did Tali. They changed Ashley's look, and while I would say she was more sexualized, I don't know what puts her in the 'over' category.

I liked the walk but I used a mod to change it for my Warrior Hawke playthrough.

Isabela's breast didn't look ridiculously huge to me.The biggest natural breast recorded that I know of is 38g and isabela didn't come within leagues of that.As for the Illusion of implants, are you factoring in that she was wearing a corset?

I agree with the OP. Nothing wrong with sexy characters. Problem is when they exist more to be sexy than be an actual character. This happens particularly often with female characters.

Also a woman i have to say i don't find charachters like isabela having huge breasts particularly attractive. All i think is "ouch". Cause seriously knowing how annoying/painful stuff like running, swimming, or whatever can be i just look at them, imagine all the gymnastic style rogue moves they do and wince in sympathy. Posted Image

Every character had different sizes, for example bethany and merrill were rather small in the chest area.

No, you're not. I don't walk like that either, and at last check I wasn't the least bit manly.

The animations are something that really bothered me above all else but i'm trying to be realistic, I can't really request that Bioware make multiple animation packs just so I can avoid walking like a... A.... You know what? I don't even know....

I figured a more realistic goal was to achieve would be Body Types, since they did it for The Old Republic, and I don't see why it couldn't make a good addition to this franchise.

having huge breasts particularly attractive. All i think is "ouch"

Ha! Glad it's not just me that had this reaction to Isabela.
