The outfit in Mota, was made for malehawk, and didn't fit at all my femhawk.

That is 100% John Epler's fault.

Also there is literally no such thing as "men's clothing." There hasn't been "men's clothing" since women started wearing pants. It's just clothing (that looks fab on women).

To me, the way it was made didn't fit at all a woman... FemHawk looked like a man in this clothes. It's not about womens can't wear pants... As long as the pants fits my female pc, there's no issue.

Personally, I have absolutely no objection to sexy attire for male or female NPCs, if it suits their persona. I am especially fond of male eye candy, but they all seem to be covered from neck to knees, sadly... except for Varric. We need skimpier clothing for men of all races.

Given my apprehension about other areas, it's kind of hard for me to get excited about superficial things like clothing and armor designs, but one thing I would like is more variety for the protagonist's wardrobe. You know how it goes. You get a great robe (or armor), you try it on your PC, and it looks like a nightgown. The least flattering flannel nightgown imaginable, with a matching wooly hood. How about adding a tailor to the game who can alter the base model for armors? Got a frumpy mage robe? Take it to the tailor, where it will be altered to suit a protagonist who likes to wear something sexy herself. Why should companions get all the fun? And why should the protagonist be prevented from showing some skin?

Sure, not every player will want a PC with exposed vitals, but that's why making it an optional alteration works so well. If you like your characters to be all covered up, leave it alone. If you want a mage mini-dress, go to the tailor.

Great idea for clothing (robes, casual clothes, formal), but I don't think that's doable in terms of altering the base model. That's crazy difficult to do on the fly.. But have a lot of style options so we can have a similar effect.

It doesn't have to be difficult. Animation ID is just another item property. If Hawke's key can be changed on the fly, or if a new tintmap can be applied to an item using that DAO mod... the one that changes armor colors... gah, I can't think of it... then it should be possible to swap between two base types, say robe type A (granny nightgown) and type B (bodice and skirt). Heck, I can write a mod that would do this in BG2 and the Infinity Engine is nowhere near as sophisticated as the Frostbite.

Ya know, it wouldn't even need to be this complicated. They have said that they're thinking about allowing players to change the color of items in-game. Why not make one default "sexy" outfit like the Hawke smoking jacket (but sexier) that the protagonist can access using a special dye?

Actually, I do use different mage robes in DA2 based on the quest. When Hawke is going to talk to the Viscount, he puts on his best (the Amell Ancestral Robes mod), but when he is crawling through the Deep Roads, he puts on Aldenon's gear from the Mage Pack 2. I know, it's just playing dress-up with my character and that's kinda sad, but it extends item usability, too. Hawke will still wear an item even though he has others with better stats.

Oh also, what was with Hawke's house clothes? Anyone? Come on it was a fashion no-no. If Hawke was female (the only kind I've played) then she looked terrible in them. I don't know what male Hawke looked like in them. Possibly terrible as well, lol.

She looked like she was walking around in Hugh Hefner's drab house robe. eeeew

The party outfit pants are fine on FemHawke, (in b4 Mr. House posts pics for proof) it's the way the shirt fits that looks oversized or fitted poorly to her body.

As I said in the MotA feedback thread when the DLC first came out, it wasn't the biggest issue in the world, but it definitely gave me a sad feeling for at least a moment, because I had seen MaleHawke's version of the outfit, and to me it looked like FemHawke was an afterthought, after Tallis, and then MaleHawke, when making the outfits for this DLC.  I'd really like to feel like my female character isn't the last character the modelers think about, after the male version of the hero and then any hot ladies who join him on his manly adventures.

Also:

Women and men both come in all manner of shapes, sizes, shades, and appearances. While people may see certain traits as being "masculine" or "feminine," much of our perception of that comes from social conditioning, and decades of stereotypes. People are simply people - with all of the variety therein.

If default Hawke of either gender did not fit into a player's idea of who he/she wanted that character to be, or look, the player could easily change the PC's appearance after the prologue.

This is a very polite response to those quotes, I would have gone with Image IPB

At least Aveline wore armor that covered her up, the same can't be said for Saskia from TW2.

Original Conan from Robert E. Howard's stories did wear armor from time to time, especially for larger battles.

Wasn't he once described as a whirlind of steel, clad in black plate reaping men like wheat? That's pretty hardcore, and not much like he's portrayed in comics and film.

I really thought my FemHawke looked very feminine. She walked and ran very girly like. Some clothes did look odd on her but a few looked great like those mage robes that had little cut outs in the shoulders and the Mage Champion robes.

The smoking jacket?  I liked it, my fem Hawke just needed a pipe to go along with it.

Oh, you mean swapping models (and skins). Yeah, I like that. ;-) I thought you meant actually editing the model in game, and then if you did that, you'd have to also redesign the outfight skin, re-shadow it, etc. Crazy difficult. Yeah, I like your idea. Image IPB

As long as the video game industry/community is dominated by males, overly sexualized women are an inevitability.

Yeah, I meant swapping models (and skins). You thought I meant taking a tunic, say, and dropping the neckline two inches and raising the hemline two feet? On the fly?
