Now that you mention it, that's quite likely.

Thanks for all the good work over the years and for founding this company that brought me many hours of fantastic entertainment in the past and likely will be in the future. And good luck for whatever you may do next.

No, it won't. But it was never the same while they were here, either. I remember my interview with Ray and Greg, before a game they were going to call Baldur's Gate. They gave me a shot as writer zero, but there's not much special about that, they gave so many people their shots at making the kind of games we all wanted to play. So thanks, bossmen. And thanks for going out with representative Paragon and Renegade retirement choices. Thinking of gameplay options to the last.

I am saddened to see them go, without them there would never have been a Mass Effect, Dragon Age or the many other titles Bioware have created since was established by Ray and Greg. They have helped bring great enjoyment to many millions over the years with the aid of the teams they helped build and idiologies fostered in their development.
Best wishes to them in the future in what they chose to do next in their lives. I would be however lying if I denied the fact that I do truly hope they return to game development in the future like Brian Fargo and others have done when they began to question their own futures in game development but instead started fresh via kickstarter, simply for the reason as a gamer, a fan of the studio they founded and the titles they helped create I would always wish to see more from them in the entertainment hobby I chose to indulge in that they greatly contributed to making much more enjoyable over the years.
I wish them the best and I am very grateful towards what they have done for the industry in my hobby of gaming.

Ray's the guy who introduced me to the phrase possibility space. For that, I hate to see him leave gaming. It's a philosophy more developers should consider in the RPG and one that it would be sad to lose.

So long and thanks for all the fish. Wish you guys all the best in the future! One day I too hope to retire to an epic quest of round the world beer drinking, although I would have to include cider as well.

They're retiring from gaming altogether. Greg is going to drink his way around the world (a tour of craft breweries, for which he has my eternal envy), and Ray is moving towards entrepreneuriship and investment.

now the reapers can turn bioware into the husk that they've always wanted. we all saw the signs of their indoctrination, and we can be thankful that they escaped before the conversion was complete.
dragon age 3 is going to be hilarious. if i was working at bioware right now, i would be pretty concerned. anyone remember bullfrog, maxis, westwood studios? lololololol

Really great visionaries. Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 were supremely ambitious games from a newer company. Never Winter Nights and the toolset, they pulled off something that I've never seen before and since. The ability to let game players make their own stories and games and to come as close to table top gaming as is possible via a computer game. Excellent progression on to the ME and DA universes.
Years ago I was in the locker room in the Phys Ed dept of the place I work at which happened to be the place both of those gents go their initial post secondary training. There were two guys in the locker room getting ready to play some kind of racquet sport. They were talking about games they were playing, rule sets and such. I never talked to them but I think it may have been Greg and Ray.
In any case, best of luck to them in the future and I can only hope that BioWare does not suffer too much from their leaving. There have been a few chinks in the armour the last few games so to speak, hopefully the armour does not crumble without them.

It's official, bioware is dead. Say hi to bullfrog and the rest of the companies EA destroyed.
I bet it was a forced retirement due to failures like DA2 and the epic failure of TORtanic.

The early games (particularly Baldur's Gate 2 and Neverwinter Nights) were some of my all-time favorites. Thank you and good luck!

I hope they enjoy the projects they set out to pursue, they've done gamers a great service through Bioware. From Shattered Steel to Mass Effect 3 I've loved them all. It's really sad to see them go and has me worry about what direction Bioware might head in now under EA, especially with them already pulling nonsense like that Bioware - C&C Generals thing.
Best of luck to the both of them though.
