Btw: "more single-player stories" - STORIES? So we can expect more SP content after Omega?

My theory of ME 4 is... it continues EXACTLY where the last destroy ending left us.. In the rubble..

I expect the next ME game to come out on the next generations of consoles, not the current ones.
So ME3 will likely be supported up until that point.

If this is the case i will probably jump ship before it goes the way of Halo and all the other "run it into the ground in the name of profit" games.

I cant help but think the IT is going to be in ME 4, thats why BW refuses to put it in the fanfic section of the thread. I know BW stated ME 3 is going to be Shepard's last adventure but they said the same thing about Halo 3 too!

You realize that Merizan already confirmed that shepards story is over in ME3. And that there will be no post-breath DLC.
IT is a valid interpretation (as is everyone's interpretation) however, plausibility seems lacking.
Halo 4 is also being made by a different studio (343 industries not bungie)
And you really think they will devote a game to what would be no more than 30 minutes of gameplay?
Come on man! The ending isn't THAT bad at face value and IT con is good enough.

Yes, the ending is bad at face value.
If EA was smart they would just continue ME with Shep. Just saying. Shepard already has an established fanbase and people who feel attached to their Shepard's. No other protagonist will be able to live up to Shep. And with most of their other franchises ending this year or next year they are going to be bleeding ME dry for every dollar. There has been no cool down for ME, I mean it hasn't even been out for a year and they are crunching out DLC's left and right and already announced another installment.
They really don't want this fandom to die.

I'm with you on this. It's... odd to think they would start a new ball rolling (in the MEU) so quickly after ME3's release. Not that anyone COULD forget their Shepards, but at least give it a few years before spinning away from the Shepard saga.
I was just on the Bioware store site (because I'm a huge tool of capitalism and needed all of the comics. derp.), and come on -- they just opened preorder for a super fancy, super expensive Commander Shepard statue, KNOWING that people WILL buy that thing. If they want us to move on from Shepard, and want to move on themselves, they're not doing it right.
And TBH, while I'm sure some people do legitimately want a new protagonist, I'm just as sure that a good percentage of fans are claiming to be "over Shep" simply because they don't want to hope for more Shepard and be let down (I'm almost drawn to do this, too, but I love Shepard too much). And I think the same thing could be said for the IT. Deny it with vitriol because who wants that awful ache of fictional letdown? Me, I don't trust companies and their trilogy claims. I mean, hey! Sly Cooper 4 next year!

For some reason, I think all of this has a lot to do with the Doctors leaving BW.

Well, technically they said that Shepard's story would be a trilogy, which it is. They never said Mass Effect will be only a trilogy.Krimzie wrote...

I know, but like I said I really think they are going to keep Shepard. This is EA we are talking about. Shepard makes money, it would be smart to keep thier cash cow. Even after all of the backlash, months later we are still here on BSN talking about Shepard. No protagonist will be able to live up to Shep. They know that.

True, but many fans, myself included, would also like a new protagonist(specifically one that you can choose which race to play as).MissMaster_2 wrote...

I will bet you 10 cookies that they will not have shepard as the protagonist in ME4 (they may not have him in game at all) mentioned - yes. In game as a character and not a flashback, video, memory, picture, etc I find doubtful.
Who knows what this new protagonist will be like?
