A... a full mass effect game and not a half of one like before?

Wowzers.

On topic, it better be a good ****ing game, and I'm glad to see more DLC on the way.

Hey, Mass Effect 3 was great, it's just someone dropped the ball on the main plot storyline.  They tried to get artsy and in doing so, neglected to make it fit with pre-existing lore and make it actually enjoyable to experience.

I know this should not be needed to be said, but let's not assume the worst folks! In fact, it sounds really positive. More SP DLC this fall! New titles! DAI! And 2 guys that work their butts off decide to retire and do new stuff.......... Everyone **should** be happy!

It was a great game on its own, but not as a mass effect game, especially not for a mass effect game that was ending the main story arc.

Look doesnt it all sound familiar? Hype, excitement.....false pretences, all you need to do to remind yourself is go read the Pre-release developer quotes for ME3 thread...

EA will be involved along with Online pass, MP, And casey overseeing it? come on man i truly hope for a great ME experiance but that ship has passed i feel and all we will get is another bland shooter set in the ME universe.

If they're going to be Leviathan-length (~4 hours), then I'd say two DLCs.

I was thinking at least 3.

5-9 depending on when they start work on Dinosaur DLC.

Fine by me.

Obviously, I can be proved wrong, but I find that unlikely. Not if they're going to be Leviathan-length.

There would be 3 more if you count Omega. Omega and two more DLCs.

Seems like the ME universe will become the next squeezed out lemon, like Fifa, Nfs or Battlefield before.

They left shepard in rubble

They introduced a new important character 15mins from the end of a trilogy

They lied with there pre-release quotes

They Didnt make your choices matter

They ridiculed the Retake movement

They did make great games once tho so let's hope ME4 will be.......

I thought that was "Tribble Synthesis Theory" and I got my hopes up only for them to be heartlessly dashed on the jagged rocks of sorrow. Curse you, and curse your makes, and more importantly curse bioware for doing the same thing to me with ME3!

UPDATED THE FIRST POST

The paragraph about New IP contained some additional info about ME4 - Casey oversees the project but he and his team are also working on the new IP. This is pure speculation but I think it means that Casey's Edmonton team will be mainly working on the new IP while some other team (probably in Montreal) will develop ME4 with Casey & other seasoned ME developers at Edmonton overseeing.

Not the same team working on the new ME game? That looks sketchy.

Can't wait for Omega though.

Well, I'm not sure but Aaryn did say Casey's Edmonton teams works on new IP. Obviously they can't work on 2 games at the same time so I guess Montreal will develop ME4 and Casey will roughly oversee the project.

I'm not that worried since Montreal have been involved with ME series since ME2, so they do have a lot of experienced people there.

The most important team to me is the writing team. I'm sure the Montreal developers are very talented but I hope that they bring over some of the writers from the original ME team.

Yeah, probably at least 3-4 years. It's obviously for next-gen

Some people may transfer. And even if not, there were some writers based in Montreal that already worked on ME2/ME3 & DLC

Positive: YAY OMEGA DLC!

Negative: If this new IP is the Mass Shift crap, I will kick a puppy.

Happiness and positivity on the BSN?

Simply impossible.

I agree with everything you said, though.

Funny that I read these news today, when I started my first replay of ME3 since March...

I still have to play Leviathan and am curious about Omega... and of course ME4. To me a change in dev staff sounds promising. After all we've seen (some might say "endured"), there could be worse things than a fresh start.

I'm not getting my hopes up too high, but today there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel.

Pretty funny how they released all this information on the day the founders retired just so that topic wouldn't dominate the chatosphere.

Clever but predictable. They need to put the ME IP on the shelf. It's clear that the current team was out of ideas as the clock ran down on ME3. Wait until there's some new blood in both leadership and creative staff.

Good, another Mass Effect game. I am already readying my wallet for the pre-orders, and pulling up my chair and popcorn for the inevitable sh*tstorm that I can see coming over the hill.

One big question is whether ME4 and/or the new IP will be on current-generation or next-generations platforms (Xbox 720, PS4, etc). I would assume ME4 would be current-generation if anything carries over from the preceding trilogy, but the new IP would be on next-gen consoles.
