Here's my idea of where you should go next... pick up where Mass Effect 3 left off with Shepard waking up from the indoctrination attempt. Make the destroy ending canon. Do that and Bioware will be remembered forever. If you don't do that, I wouldn't expect strong sales.

They left shepard in rubble

They introduced a new important character 15mins from the end of a trilogy

They lied with there pre-release quotes

They Didnt make your choices matter

They ridiculed the Retake movement

They did make great games once tho so let's hope ME4 will be.......

I don't hope that it will be anything.... I know that it will be garbage unless it is a direct sequel to ME4 in which Shepard wakes up in London.  Those endings are so horrendous that I simply cannot bear to play a prequel.  And why the hell would I play a distant sequel made by these guys.  It seems to me that their artistic integrity is more important than their fans.  I take that back though, if Shepard wakes up in London.

Good luck to all of you who support these guys.  I'll be moving on to other gaming companies but I'll watch and see what they do with ME4.  I'm not getting my hopes up.  And, yes, I agree with those points Clarkus.

Nice to see Omega has finally be confirmed as a thing now. Crossing my fingers to have Aria as a temporary squad mate for it like Liara was in Lair of the Shadow Broker!

Canonize not just the Destroy ending, but IT? Yeah, right.

At least they don't have to bother with all that misleading 'choices have consequences' stuff anymore. We know that the whole Paragon/Renegade decision tree thing doesn't actually matter now, decisions will be overwritten or ignored, and major choices can be utterly arbitrary (and no matter how horrifying, always turn out happy), so we can get all that boring rpg stuff out of the way right out of the gates:

You are a frontline soldier. You can choose your race (as long as it's human shaped), your face (it will be constantly under a helmet), and your name (no one will call you anything but 'soldier')... The universe is yours to explore (you will go exactly where we drop you and shoot who we say)...

Woop more Mass Effect!  <3:happy:

Glad Casey is still leading it.  He has run a great trilogy. Shame the end 20 minutes overshadows much of his accomplishments over a 150 hour journey.   He knows the game and bringing a new Project Lead with their "artistic direction" wont be good.  Complain all you want about that comment, Casey will have learnt a lot from the experience and wont want it to happen again.  No one else I would rather have.

As for lead writer...  I havent been convinced with Mac so far.  He is far to keen to write his comics and game plots that tread dangerously over established ideals which I can only see as damaging.

I'm on the fence about both these things. I can see the desire to move on from the "main" ME3 on the part of the team, given what happened, but at the same time it's still a black mark. I think the new IP may be just what the doctor ordered after nearly nine years in Mass Effect.

"Also. I am playing ME3:Omega today again. It is phenomenal."

Prolly as "phenomenal" as Leviathan...so not.

And another ME game? Seems like EA just can't stop trying to milk the ME franchise for all its still worth. Not surprising.

ME3 was the first game that I ever stood in line to pick up on release. Never again. Not even because the endings made no sense when they came out/didn't fit the universe, but because we were lied to so many times as the ME3 release date approached. I will wait for community reviews of ME4 before I consider buying. Still haven't even convinced myself to buy Leviathan after YouTubing it. The EC definitely improved the ME3 experience for me, and I give massive cudos to BW that they made it and that it was free, but the pre-release lies and empty promises are still leaving a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to purchasing future BW games.

I agree with you on both points, Crash.

While I may not be overly happy with Casey after the ending , I know that giving the Mass Effect IP over to someone else would be a grave mistake. Perhaps if we gave it to someone who had been there since the beginning, like Weekes, but overall, I totally agree there. (Also, he was behind KotOR, and that game is awesome!)

I think Mac is more to blame for the lackluster quality of the overal ME3 metaplot. The parts that were awesome weren't written by him (at least not exclusively), and he was responsible for bringing it all together and tying it off with a neat bow. That didn't happen. He should go back to smaller scale.

A new ME with Casey Hudson. Wow. It's like EA/Bioware has been completely oblivious to the past 7 or so months. Oh well, should be interesting from a horrific train wreck perspective.

At least the doctors know what time it is.

Since prequels suck and Endings are going to have huge influence... Now You are making your choice Bioware. Now you will decide Blue Green or Red.(oh irony) +500 Years is fine, Wrex, Aria, Liara are still alive, civilizations have been rebuilt, we could see a big picture of shepards acomplishments.

My suggestion: go for Red while you still can, allow us to get what we want for ME3. And Build a new story ! Simple.

1000% agree with this.

Hudson needs to become the new VP, no question about it. It's the only way to save BW and Mass Effect.

Casey given charge of another project after the ME3 fiasco and the crappola EC? The Doctors retiring? I sense EA is dragging Bioware to the back of the shed to join former great companies such as Westwood they bought and managed to quickly destroy. No wonder EA is officially the worst company in America and that Bioware is going down the drain.

Is the "throughout the next six months" set in stone? Or could we still see DLC released after the six month time period.

Not to start bashing the Extended Cut, it was needed and greatly appreciated, but that took away from the original DLC development timeline. Could that timeline be extended past a full year post release date?
