Another ME game under Hudson?

No thanks.

Who else? An EA executive?

I'd like to see how that would fly here.

not me... I know better than to expect nearly the same quality as ME/ME2 from these two (EA, BIOWARE) again..

They raped the series in 5 minutes, gave us a free slideshow DLC that ignored the majority of the requests from the majority of the fanbase, and effectively told the fanbase to screw off because art.

Not spending another penny on this series.

Yup. I almost see this announcement as, "OK guys, we think we're ready to create another franchise where you spend years getting really invested in the universe and the characters and then we're going to completely deviate from narrative coherence and crush all your hopes and dreams for the ending in 10 minutes. WHO'S WITH US?!?!"

Nothanks.

You seem to be forgetting that Hudson was also project lead on ME1 and ME2. Don't write it off so soon.

Yeah, and then ME3 happened. Forgive me for not wanting him to make another in the same vein as ME3.

I've got a sinking ( or hopeful? ) feeling that this will be a pure shooter taking place during Priority: Earth. It could work if it uses your ME3 saves to tell the stories of your team, your assets, and your decisions to influence the battles/set pieces. And... If it showed the effects of your decision in greater detail, like "we found Shepard in this rubble". But... More than likely, we will be playing just James and his squad, unfortunately.

So you hope Mass Effect will turn into a pure shooter? If that's what you want, Battlefield might be something you would prefer.

From watching panels and such on Youtube, it looks like they are good friends, and they do some of the best writing in the series. Hell, they wrote the Mordin confrontation together, a personal highlight for me. It's clear that they can do great work together, why don't they have those two as lead writers for the new game.

Patrick does create quirky, lovable characters and fun dramatizations (a lot of the ambient conversations in all the games are his, I believe). But I'm not sure he's a powerhouse plot writer (for sure, Rannoch occasionally struggles and has some questionable developments).

John's accomplishments include Sur'kesh and Tuchanka (including Wrex, Eve, and Padok), as well as Garrus and Javik. Even though his work isn't perfect, I think he consistently hit the highest notes out of everything in the game.

Good, another Mass Effect game. I am already readying my wallet for the pre-orders, and pulling up my chair and popcorn for the inevitable sh*tstorm that I can see coming over the hill.

My hope would be to have a more realistic way to integrate my war assets, to get perspective and time with the squad mates that I have grown fond of, to see the ending/s that I have chosen be expanded upon and, to be honest, to get one more moment with "my" Shepard. Since I do not believe that they would do that within the current game, I would grudgingly accept this compromise. It may give EA/Bioware a way to mollify fans further while "saving face" and continuing a great IP that has quite a bit of resentment attached to it currently. I dont see them going the more RPG route with the series yet, unfortunately, so the realist in me thinks that we are going to be offered a shooter. I though that the tone of my original post conveyed that sentiment

NO pointless PREQUELS! WE ALREADY know WHAT HAPPENS!

Yeah I say they should make the Destroy ending canon and do a story in the future with completely new characters.

I agree with this.  Prequels generally don't do anything for movies even and especially not for ME.

They need to at last make one ending canon and Destroy seems a natural if they do nothing to the endings.  But, please make it make more sense than this.  It's such a mess with the kid's explanation and the lack of context for what happens.  I'd still want a fully human hero for the next one so we could again create a face we like, even though it would be interesting to play short bits as other characters.

We don't need to make any of the endings canon. Just make a game about what those idiots in the Andromeda galaxy are up to.

Yes, this.  I sincerely hope they don't go to a shooter and stick with an RPG and with a story rich game.  And make it more realistic at the end.  Don't send players on all these asset chases just so they can't use them.  Basically, avoid doing a lot of what you did in ME3, but keep making great characters with real interaction and choice-and yes, some of the stories within ME3 were great too.  But please finish ME3 first or at least finish it in any ME4, without green eyes or reapers around.

Despite my admiration for Bioware and how much I liked Leviathan, I wont be able to keep buying these DLCs and going through the current ending regularly.  Mental fatigue.  All I want is to be Shepard for another hour. Meet up with crew and LI (after recovered from Destroy ending or alternatively, you are basically God with Control, so just reanimate something.  I dunno, theres already space magic).  Go with LI and settle down in the place related to you and the LI.  Thats it.  At most, Hackett or someone would call back, and you would go on a quick LotSB esque mission where you wipe out a last Cerberus force.  Then, ride off into the sunset with LI.  Happy ending.  Total closure and perfect end to the best gaming series ever.

Anybody that had authority approving what ME3 was all about need to be written off. The whole thing from the early beginning advertising lies all the way to the crappola EC and beyond need to be crucified. Those who forget the past are bound to repeat its mistakes.

I could go into the months of lies, pride, crapping on fans and "artistic integrity" but it all amounts to overly prideful company who has insulted its fanbase beyond measure and has already has seen the departure of the doctors. They are indeed smart for they are bailing out early before the house of cards falls apart.

And lord, if this "new full ME game" involves you as Shepard just for a couple hours in the beginning like I suggested, then moves on (with a cameo with Shepard later for several minutes), Bioware will be my dmned heros and favorite folks out there.

It will be better if they reconcile with the fan base. If they conform/compromise with our desires. And if they put hard work and dedication into the story. All thats needed is a combination of ME1, ME2, and ME3. Listen to your fanbase. And ME4 should be/shall be the final game of the ME series and live in glory. Don't turn it into CoD (and now, Halo).

@Mass Perfection.  Well, the old man with the child, when asked for another story about "the Shepard", he said just one more.  Just another reason to continue the story, at least for a short period.

How about this -

During the reaper war.. admiral hackett ordered specific key personel including project staff from the crucible to be taken to a safe classified location with a stasis facility as a guarantee that some would survive the harvest...there...you are placed into stasis..maybe keeping your mind active through a virtual interface (explaining stargazer scene)
Depending on how ME3 ended and how the universe ended up... you wake from stasis a young boy/girl and take your second step out into the galaxy...

1) walking out to find every race you knew and heard of is dead.. the citadel now in control by different species..maybe yahg.. how would humans be viewed.. like the protheans?

2) finding the reapers still exist and that they now seem to be helping humanity and rebuilding.. maybe after so much time they are seen as guardians.. saviours.. and finding out that shepard now controls them

3) waking up to find out that all life everywhere is now part synthetic..joined with the reapers..and that you and those with you are now an endangered species..unique and possibly viewed as a threat...would you change willingly or fight to protect your humanity... and in the process give it back?

oh yeah.. and space magic Image IPB
