Just scroll down to the Mass Effect section.
This great news also comes with the sad news of BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk retiring. :(

Edit: Just noticed the other thread in the Spoiler forum.
Edit 2: The Omega DLC has now been cofirmed for November 27th for Xbox 360 and PC worldwide. Most PS3 players will get it on the 27th too, while Europeans will get it on the 28th.
(I'm just basing this info on past DLC releases, so don't quote me for it.)

The post also mentions plans for a new Mass Effect game

MASS EFFECT – Executive Producer Casey Hudson and his team are coming off an amazing eight-year run with the Mass Effect trilogy. But they’re not done yet. We are releasing more multiplayer content and we have more single-player stories coming throughout the next six months, including Omega which is coming in the Fall. But the Mass Effect universe is vast, and Casey and our teams have plans for another full game. “Where to go next?” with such a project has been a question a lot of us have been asking, and we’d all love to hear your ideas.

Aha...

And we all are going to have green glowing eyes?

Or this game will have a plot-twist that make us have a conventional (or no starkid) victory?

Who cares about Omega, they basically confirmed that they are thinking about continuing the franchise with future games

Ever thought of a prequel?

Huh, gonna be interesting to see where they'll take us.

I guess it'd have to be a prequel then?

Well, the good news is that there will be more DLC.

The bad news are that they are thinkiing of actually more games in the universe. An inquel (similar to DA2) is the only way to go really, ending it before Shepard makes his choice. A prequel will be a downer because of the endings, and a non-retconned sequel from ME3 is not really feasible, especially since ME3 doesn't save any variables after the end.

I for one would be happy if they moved on. Congratulating themselves for having done three damn fine games, but any further digging into it will only detoriate it. It won't be good. Do something else Bioware. Please.

Please let it be a continuation of Shepards story. I'm not done with him yet

Yes indeed. Aaryn Flynn did confirm that Omega will be the next Single Player DLC. We'll have more DLC info in the coming weeks. Aaryn also confirmed we are making a new IP (not ME related obviously) and a new Mass Effect game.

It is FAR too early to talk about what this game is or what it will be about. It was only really mentioned because we know that some people will assume that with Ray & Greg leaving BioWare we'll be closing and not making more games. This is, of course, not true. We have Dragon Age 3 Inquisition in the works, more single and multiplay DLC in teh works for ME3, a new game coming in teh Mass Effect franchise and a new IP. Lots of good stuff still to come and when we can fill you in with details, we will. Stay tuned. :)

Is it too early to ask how long the IP has been in development?

If only the leads are working on it, I assume that it's pretty recent. Maybe a few months after ME3's release.

Any future Mass Effect should be a sequel set a few hundred years later, where the universe has been rebuilt to the extent that the ending choices no longer matter.

While more SP dlc for ME3 is great!

Can't say the same about another ME game already.

Should have atleast waited until Q3 next year to annouce that.
