So does this mean that EA has more power over Bioware now, or that cold feeling on my spine was just my imagination?

here we go with the conspiracy theories..........

is it to hard to believe that maybe they both wanted to finally retire and enjoy life that dosent involved work?

This is BSN, do you honestly expect any different?

well, that kinda sux. i heard this rumor b4 and they were like no, no. greg isn't leaving. i shoulda known.

but really, they founded the company, yes. but they were never devs. so maybe they didn't have that much impact on the games. even the earlier ones...?

it feels weird, tho, not having the doctors there....

Thank you. In their blog post it is clearly said that their reacent functions weren't really connected with development, rather with "administration".

So much negativity on the BSN

You should differentiate between administration and top management.

Remember the BioWare Core Values you exemplify, remain passionate about your art and craft, and always remember it’s your fans who keep you in business.

Hopefully, new EA management will remember it as well.

The "new" management is actually the "old" management. Our studio GM is Aaryn Flynn who has been with us for 15 (I think) years since he started as a programmer. Our department heads have all been with us for years and years, Mark Darrah on Dragon Age and Casey Hudson on Mass Effect have been here years and years.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. :)

Well, they finally get to enjoy the money they got for selling Bioware.

Chris, you would know best, but how much were the doctors still involved in the game development process/direction? I guess I assume once a company gets so big that the founders have to cede duties to others, like Casey, Drew, etc..

That's really reassuring. Thanks Chris.

You'll have to excuse us, gamers don't do well well with change. Actually, we're awful with change.

I wish them luck in their future endeavors and thank them for the great gaming company they founded.

Be nice, guys. There are a lot of people at BioWare who work hard to make games and whether you like the games or not, they should get some respect! No one can please everyone all the time but that doesn't diminish what they do in the least.

it's so reassuring to know that the great minds like casey hudson are still here, holding the line. i mean, without them, mass effect 3 wouldn't have been the great game that is!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

bioware will be remembered, or not remembered, as another westwood studios, bullfrog, or maxis. the reapers have won.

Now try to picture is as a hoarde of gamers who are also staff and you know where we're at. That said, we're not paniking or anything. The games are still on the way (in fact, you should read Aaryn's blog where he announces the next ME3 DLC and other juicy bits). Little has actually changed that impacts fans.

Obviously, it'll take more than me saying it. If you're not going to believe Ray & Greg in their blogs, what I say is much less relevant. We'll just have to keep making games, not collapse, make them better than before, etc. Then the proof will be tehre.

Lol nice spin Priestly. So who are the new executive directors that will be replacing the doctors? You know, taking over their responsibilities?

Everyone knows the doctors weren't mere studio-level managers.

@sammysoso : The reason we don't like change is more often than not change has never really been for the better. Technology (hardware and software) changes have been great to gamers. Business changes have really not been: Always online DRM, More Multiplayer COD, COD, Diablo III RMAH, Pay-To-Play (free to play model on EA), DLC, etc

@Chris: I wish them well. I understand that everything has to end, but in light of everything that has happened I cannot help but feel dread...EA is the cancer of the video game industry - you may not admit in public - but I do not trust them nor do I like them. If you want to use ME as a stage: EA is the Cerberus of the Video Game industry. (Reapers = SOPA clones). I worry more for the talented bioware employees.
