Correct. While we're all sad to see Ray & Greg go, it won't impact the games that we're making.

To see them go is like saying goodbye to the old BioWare... They'll be missed.

I thought they would be at Bioware forever. What a bummer. Who going to take their place. What does it mean for Bioware?

It was still founded by them.

We'll see when the game comes out.

It's not like they stood over everyone's shoulders for the past 20 years during every phase of development. The team still knows how to make games.
Of course they'll be missed, and I wish them both the best of luck.
Honestly, craft beer sounds like a pretty good career direction to me. Way to go Dr. Greg!

"The times, they are a changin'"
Well, so they are having time with their families and brewing beer? Very good, nothing wrong with that! And when you have the urge again to make games like they used to be, found another innovative studio and make great games! Or don't and enjoy retirement, you both already did enough for the genre!
P.S. "in hushed voice" Maybe if you are really bored and tired of retirement have a look at "Obsidian"?

Retiring in their early 40's? Something must be wrong, and not only the fans I deem.

Nothing wrong with retiring in your 40s. I wish I could retire in my 40s.

Doubt it. The wheels have already set into motion. The teams are still working on whatever's on their plate.

My only question would be, who is going to defend BioWare against EA's encroaching? I saw the doctors as somewhat of a barrier to that...but whoever replaces them will be handpicked by EA. Well that about does it I guess.

Or they've earn enough money to be able to retire early, it does happen lol.

I was hoping that Aaryn was going to be the bulwark that would keep them from having to use a third-party engine.

Well, in that case, pretty neat that they've all decided together.
And it's nice they had such a monumental accomplishment before retirement. DA ][ was any man's dream and a vast contribution to the video game society.

Bioware was sold to EA for around 800million IIRC. My guess is Ray and Greg received a big chunk of that compensation not mention their annual salaries the past few years as Executive VPs were just a tad above minimum wage.
