Do you think you will be able to handle them? What if  Player character is orleasian?

The accent got pretty grating for me in small doses, i have no idea how it will be too see it all game.

Just have people with actual french accent instead of fake exaggerated accents and we'll be fine.

"You don't frighten us, [Ferelden] pig-dogs! Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person! I blow my nose at you, so-called Ah-thoor Keeng, you and all your silly English K-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-niggits!"

If there isn't at least one person that sounds like this, I will be slightly disappointed...

Ah didn't think of that. Having an "Orlesian" accent for the PC could be really annoying if not done well.
It also occurs to me is that the risk of having one of those fake irish accents would be one reason not to have elves as a playable race.

Well, Dragon age is usually good for PC/companion voice acting, its just minor NPCs usually who have annoying voices, so it'd probably be fine.

DA3 will be wall to wall this....

"and there is a bus load coming at 7 O'Clock" lol

Though seriously it's not like Faux-French was the only noticeably fake accent in the DA series. Though I expect we might just have to put up with it, I do hope that DA3's attempts are a bit more subtle and less pronounced as some cases in the previous game.

If we're lucky, they'll use Corinne Kempe extensively. She has a lovely voice.

Anyone else expect to hear an accent that is similar to Lumiere's in Beauty & The Beast?

If we are Orleasian, I want Pepe Le Pew to be present somewhere.

There are nice french accents, and bad french accents. Like everything and everywhere.

I do think it would be best to use accents that have the potential to be quite jarring without going overboard.

This is one of the many reasons why I think they should go back to being able to chose race. The city elves, dwarves, and kossith all have something in the general area of a neutral or "General American" accent, and having such a plain accent for the PC would be better for people who have an issue with French accents. The difference is mainly tone and pitch.

And besides, a kossith would be ridicuously easy to VO.

NPC: "Monseur, I need you to grab us neuf elf roots for my experiments!"
PC: "No."

Everyone will have them. EVERYONE.

alternatively - the canadian poison in bioware takes over, and the whole game audio will be french only. And wouldn't that be hilarious.

Oh god. No. Please not the accent of snobs. The regular Orlesian NPCs sound like snobs to me.

If Orlais is to become the priority setting, then please have different kinds of accents to show diversity of that country.

I might have to kill myself. Or a lot of NPCs.

Although I think I'd actually rather like a PC with Orlesian accent. I don't know why though. But it might be a nice change of pace.

The french accent in Dragon age? Has anyone heard a french accent ? except Leliana and Riordan I mean ... I'm french, and I'm playing in english because ... voice actors are just better. If Bioware hire american/english voices actors who try to have an orlesian accent, ... first i'll hang myself, then I'll play in french at least, i will not have to endure fake accent. (or i'll play in french THEN i'll hang myself after ^^)

I hope our character will have a French accent. Getting a bit bored of always playing an American or English person. I'd like a bit of a change.

Oh god, please no fake and exaggerated french accents. Leliana was the only good one (possibly even Riordan, but I didn't like the guy).

I don't think I could take an entire game filled with annoying voices.

Never minded the Orlesian accent at all.
