I don't even mind a canon ending, if it will prevent a prequel

We already know the outcomes of the past wars

I'd be happy with no prequels, because we do already know what happened. I'd be far more interested in something set a few decades into the future, even if it means that BioWare have to make one of the endings canon. Having said that, Mass Effect is Mass Effect and I will take it however I can get it, hehehe...

I'd much rather have something after the ending of ME3, but we already know that's not really possible. *sigh*

I would want a prequel as much as I would want to  replay the current trilogy, and that got thrown out the window with the endings.

I really don't think a prequel would work in this setting. We already know how everything turns out.

Besides, the space opera genre has a chequered history with prequels. Phantom Menace? Star Trek: Enterprise? They didn't exactly cover their respective franchises with glory.

Please no prequels BioWare.

Go forward in time if possible and show us new stories and characters.

Thanks.

Sorry, this idea for prequel is way too cool to discard:

I think Leviathan DLC opens up the scenario for sequels, especially if Destroy was picked up... but still, no Prequels. prequels and interquels always seem to have a way to contradict some details established in the original series.

they could base it around the novel revelations and build it till the 3rd book

that way fans can get some shepard easter egg comments

But still no meaningful Choices which is what everyone complained about in ME3 choices in ME2  meaning nothing we need Choices which is why a prequel won't work

OP make this the official petition for no prequels. Give me a sequel in far distant future where I won't even be reminded of the god-awful ending of the original trilogy. Oh btw signed.

BSN complaining about the lack of choice in ME3. BSN wanting a canon ending.

Bad prequels? Halo Reach says hi.

why would you want choices? its not like itll change anything in the current trilogy if its a prequel.

im not saying that to be a jerk but lets be honest with ourselves here.

whats wrong with a prequal game thats uncharted in space like?

can you imagine how awesome that would be expecially for exploration?

Wouldn't prequels come with their own canon ending anyways.

We all die!

Considering they couldn't get refuse right I really doubt they could make that work.

Just saying most people Consider ME to be all about choices and that Uncharted space like is kind of like Star wars 1313

Yeah, that is the problem here.  A post-ME3 game doesn't seem possible since they would have to make one of the outcomes canon.  The only reason I would want a post-ME3 game is the off-chance that it did something to make the ending more palatable, but since they're so dedicated to the "artistic vision" that isn't going to happen.  I don't much care for a prequel or a concurrent spinoff since we all know where it leads.  Sure, there is room to tell some interesting stories, but there will always be this looming sense of "what's the point?"
