After playing Dragon's dogma and skyrim, I now fully understand that bioware is the only game company in this universe where I'm going to get good romance in a Rpg so I'm staying right here through thick and thin.
Haven`t played The Witcher, have you?
Played it.
The "romance" was horrible in both of them.
Plainly ignoring Shani to put Geralt in bed with Triss to introduce her ass first sure wasn't brilliant writing.
Maybe Yennefer will be different.

DA3 is me giving Bioware one last chance.
Don't get me wrong, their past few games have been great and successful GAMES. However, they have been horrible RPGS.
I started playing Bioware games when they came out with Kotor and the immersive storyline was beautiful. Since then I have played Jade Empire, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age:origins, and Mass Effect 1 with that same sense of emotional connection and beauty.
However their most recent games (ME2&3, DA2, SWTOR) have all felt like rushed rip-offs. Honestly they are breaking my heart with how they are moving away from the style of game I loved so dear.
So my wishlist for DA3 is that they return to their roots. Last chance to show me that this company can still make a decent RPG. Even moreso since the Doctors are no longer at Bioware. If Bioware cannot create a decent RPG anymore, there is always Obsidian's Project Eternity...

I played it and did not consider it a good romance. The romance never delves into anything more than the superficial. One undying rose and temple hot tub bang does not a romance make.
I dunno... temple hot tub bang sounds right up there with wall sex.....

Actually there is one romantic encounter..by CDPR standards anyway. And that's with Vess.

Pointless one night stand is hardly romantic or deep....
It had more depth than Triss fawning over you like a brainless schoolgirl though.

Well i thought the romance was pretty good. Still...the Morrigan one was way better.
And Viconia reduces them both to shallow little girls.

Your post is rambling and all over the place and gives no constructive feedback.
What particular features of the games you view as out of character for BioWare feel "rushed" and a detriment to the RPG experience?
The reason I'm singling this post out is it puts Mass Effect 1, Jade Empire, KOTOR, and DAO all in the same category.

Romantic though? Naaaaaaah... Sometimes a bang is just a bang and that is ok.

Heh....if Bioware EVER reduces a LI to a mention a stupid codex, then we'll see just how deep those double standards are.

Neah they just reduced it to a mail that we only got after a patch. Dragon Age: Awakening anyone?

great game, weak romance.
Not that I find romances to be the most appealing aspect of RPGs. They're kind of a stale concept at this point.

The romances were aknowledged though and Awakening didn't put me in bed with Alistair if I romanced Zevran.

You talk of double standards after saying that? LOL.
Saying what? Missing a LI's letter (Which can be brought back with a mod/patch) isn't the same as forcing a romance with another LI on me.

This is my own personal opinion, honestly, but I am basing it on emotional connection to the games. In DAO, I saw Alistair as a brother and Morrigan as a lover. In Jade Empire, the tragic betrayal stunned me and left me gaping. In ME1, I was nearly in tears over the choice between Ash and Kaiden. In KOTOR, the twist near the end left me in awe and I felt a true connection to the PC.
I have not felt any emotional depth in recent Bioware Games. Honestly, I guess it comes back to story. They may have great gameplay, but their stories are lacking. ME2 I was pretty much "meh" when someone died. In DA2 I could care less about my companions. In ME3, the ending left me feeling empty and depressed. The last time a Bioware game made me feel was in ME3 when I killed Mordin. And that was vaguely anthing.
