Btw, the fact that in TW2 Shiani isn't Geralt's LI no matter what isn't that different from not having romance content at all for certain ME2 LI (Jacob and Thane) or having a little bit (Jack, and partially Miranda, which have the longer content for the ME2 exclusive LI). And what they did with Jacob in my opinion is on the same level of Shiani and Geralt's break up.

Thane had romance content in ME3, boy, did he ever. I bloody cried. As did Jacob. He moved on and found someone else. Not unheard of. Is Femshep above what we women suffer daily? (Being left for a younger, more "managable" and compatible gal) I think not. It's a dose of realism I liked.

After playing Dragon's dogma and skyrim, I now fully understand that bioware is the only game company in this universe where I'm going to get good romance in a Rpg so I'm staying right here through thick and thin.

Haven`t played The Witcher, have you?

You have to be a guy in the Witcher. Must be nice for the guys.....

I loved how the Thane romance was concluded in ME3.  My Shepard was totally devastated, went out and got drunk in the local bar and woke up on whats her name's couch!

Yup he did. And the final showdown with Kai Leng is so perfect if you see it the first time on a Thane romance playthrough. Which is how my wife saw it. Thane was still her favorite romance even in ME3. But she thought Garrus rocked too.

I do feel bad for people who romanced Jacob though. He was the only one who said the L word in ME2, so highly awkward he didn't wait for Shepard, even though he knew where she was.

I'm sorta agreeing with this thread, not so much the pretensiousness of it, more agreing with the topic title

This is definetly your last chance with the vast majority of us and i'm preeeeeetty sure you know it too, there's plenty of other rpgs with good to great story, memorible companions and sweeping romances all of which have better graphics & gameplay hands down (you could bind fold me & let me grab a random rpg from a bag and unless it's risen 2, it's guarented to have better combat & visuals)

Even JRPGs got this stuff covered better, which is saying alot given most modern jrpgs are trite, repetitive, silly meladrama, metrosexualy overloaded, formulatic crap, yet you can STILL find good plots/memorible companions/witty banter & romance stories there (the Tales series is basicly japanese bioware without the bugs & sloppy visuals, seriously)

You guys don't have anything you can say you're the only source of, you NEED to grab the gold ring this time, make this third try the charm

Diddnt people say that with Mass Effect 3 or is this the last last chance? And if Inquisition fails will Mass Effect 4 be the last last last chance?

Many people mention Witcher for better romance, but it's only for straight males. Of course that would be their largest audience, but those who are not into that relationship, they wouldn't be into the relationship. I'm bisexual, so I could do it both, but I would at least like the option to romance a guy if possible. Some people were a bit uncomfortable with Witcher's focus on sex instead of romance. I personally prefer Bioware's romance to be honest. As for the game itself, I tried it, I honestly don't see what the fuss is about. The gameplay is not very appealing, nice graphic though. Hopefully, DA3 will present a better experience than the Witcher for me.

Thank you, I will. Your judgment means nothing as you've never played it. .

No, they don't. They really don't. Are they or their games perfect? No. But theirs are still the one I keep returning to again and again. The only thing that needs to be done differently is the marketing IMHO. And they are making an effort there too.

In regards to Persephone (as my quote is not working)

you obviously skim read over both those quotes as 1- i listed games, specificly the Tales seies, series implies more than one, so....yeah...
2- uh, what part of "i played the demo" did you miss? yes i did play ME3 yes i didn't like the gameplay which felt like a huge step back from me2 and yes sumth'n called "youtube" allows you to view the entirity of a game to form a actual opinion of

If you're going to try and discredit me, you should actually read what i write & not just use selective slander as an attempt to be defensivly snarky, free advise

I stand corrected about Thane. Then about Jacob, I guess you'll be fine if Garrus, Kaidan and Liara would've moved on another NPC too (or even Ashley and Tali, if you want to include the male LI)? Or if in TW2 Shani simply left Geralt, and Geralt didn't move on Triss?
The reason why Jacob was like that in ME3 isn't because they want to add "realism" to the game. It's because they prioritized the LI who went back on the Normandy.

No, you said there were LOADS readily available. One JRPG isn't LOADS.

Stepback from ME2? It's the same gameplay with ADDED FEATURES.

Uh huh, watching someone else's Shep is the same as playing the game yourself....yeah, it's not.

I'm still laughing. But seriously, while I don't agree with it there's at least a case to be made that ME1's gameplay was better than ME2-3. It is at least more appealing to certain kinds of gamers because it doens't introduce as many shooter elements and is more consistently rooted in RPG-mechanics. That said, Mass Effect 3 is literally ME2+. Asserting that it is a "step back" from that which it was developed out of and refined from is ludicrous on its face.

"series" good god buy a dictionary >__>; there's well over 10 games in it, but if you're going to be so anal, personna 3 & 4 as well :P

and again "demo" and yeah, i thought the added features were a waste, the omni blade didn't feel like it contributed anything worthwhile, the jump prompts didn't add anything & the dodge was more disorienting then useful

annnnnnnnnnnnd really if i had wrote a huuuuuge thing about ME3 then you might justify this pointless argument, but i didn't, i stated the obvious about the ending and that's it, you're again just reading what you want to drag out an non existant argument cause you want to be defensive

No, you said that ME3's gameplay was a "huge step back."  I said this position was moronic.  I had nothing to say about the ending.  That's all there is to it, really.  If you don't want your silly opinions challenged, don't share them.

And of course I have an agenda, pretending you don't as you're here telling people you know best about what games are good is another laughable opinion, and I'm gonna keep not taking you seriously.

Stay mad!

I'm a huge Witcher fan and I'd be the first to say that romance is not the Witcher's forte and I wouldn't point at it and say "this."

Now I did enjoy it, feeling it was good enough given the story it was in (and that's important to me. The general story should imo always take precedence over subplots, which should be presented in a way that makes sense considering the general context). And I did enjoy it more than romances in ME2, 3 and DA2, but that's due to me finding the LI's unappealing. I also disagree that it's entirely about sex. It definitely coudl be, you could play it that way, but it can be more than that.

But even then, it had one real romance option and it wasn't groundbreaking or exemplary. If Bioware is to learn from the Witcher, and I believe there's a lot to learn, it's not going to be the romance departement.

Make the best of it for the sake of the fans who still believe in you. Like Bruce Wayne, you must climb out of the pit and take back your Gotham.

I will go to Obsidian, Bethesda, Ubisoft, 343i, Naughty Dog, Valve, Rock Star, Irrational Games, Eidos Montreal and the many countless talented indie developers currently out there to seek my enjoyment with them, but I will remember the good times fondly, and the less good times... less fondly.

Godspeed, BioWare.

Godspeed.

I think it is obvious Bioware still have enough fans and people who still believe that it will do just fine if they don't "redeem" themselves in your eyes.

Just saying...

I tried to pre-order DA3 yesterday when I picked up my copy of Borderlands 2.

Still too early to pre-order it, apparently. Image IPB

Just sayin'.

I don't quite understand the level and amount of rage and grief Bioware has gotten over DA2 and ME3. I really, really don't. But maybe that's just me...

There is no redemption after ME3.
