I cant say i am as excited for this game as i was for da2 because now ive been burned by biowares policy twice (me3,da2 not to mention the inevitable MP and the leave of the docs)... However they seem to be doing just the same once more!! If its true and this game comes out in late 2013 then the game will have been in development for almost less than 2 years... Given that they use a very advanced engine and the fact that the planned expansion was definetely on the old engine all their work on that will have to be redone with the new engine  (so you cant really support the fact that work on the expansion=work on da3)

tl;dr= the dev cycle is not enough imho

and never do any developers adress this subject which for me is the main issue regarding their past few games..id like some reassurance if possible because i wont be having another da2 no thnx

thoughts?

Pretty sure they said it's already been in development for 18 months. If it goes for another year + another few months we'll be looking at well over 2 year development, closer to 3 years. Also, chances are it will be delayed a few months. We are basically looking at 3x the development time that DA2 had. That is a much longer development time than most non-blizzard games get.

The official press release stated that they have already been working on the game for 2 years. That means if it comes out end of 2013, you are talking over 3+ years of dev time. I'm pretty confident they have no intention of rushing things this time around.

They've said that they have been working on it for two years already, so if they keep the suggested timeline, that will be 3+ years.

Aye it seems EA is cutting the DA team a bit more slack than the ME3 team - who were forced into delivering an unfinished game if you recall -. With a 3 year dev cycle we should be seeing a major improvement over both ME3 (2 years or so) and DA2 (18 months approx). Although it won't be quite as good as DAO.

My favorite thing from Bioware is It's done when we say it's done an I'm all for them taking as long as needed to get it done right even if it means a summer 2014 release.

lol wut??already 2 years?? even 18 months is not convincing at all..I am sure they are countin their work on the expansion which again in my humble opinion has very little to do with da3 apart from story elements maybe...i highly, highly doubt that any work had been put into da3 prior ro the releases of the dlcs and then they proceeded to do work on the expansion(which,i bet, had the whole teams attention) which was called off last march if i remember correctly.. they stated that they were ready to proceed to new things dragon age related then and since, only 6 months have past including the summer ones..my math does not comply sorry

You are making assumptions that are... Well you know what they say about people that make assumptions.  There is always time in between when a game stops being worked on and a game gets out to the public.  During that time, you can bet that DLCs are being worked on and so on and so on.

You are free to believe what you want, but that doesn't make it true.  Facts are facts.
