1. It was nice to get something aside from Cryo Ammo IV in my last three PSP's.
2. It gave me momentary hope (that was then dashed) that the Bloodpack Punisher was also released.
3. Its still better than the Vendicator (not saying much I know but I had to come up with a third item for the list)
That being said, its not useless, just...bad...such bad bad recoil *gags*. It does seem to work well with a weapon heavy speced Vanguard however. Point blank range via biotic charge negaits low accuracy due to recoil. Just slap a mag V upgrade and armor piercer on it and its alrght enough to USE on gold, not that I would reccomend it to anyone I didnt hate.

Put it on a destroyer. It has the stability bonus. And higher fire rate

I'm genuinely impressed by it. My only real beef is its recoil outside of cover.

How could I not? I am a man who loves a good Metro 2033 reference.

Used it on a GI w/ Hunter mode specced for ROF & Accuracy, AP IV ammo, Rail Amp III, AR Gear V... it killed trash ok, did ok on the Brutes/Ravagers. Left A LOT to be desired when fighting Banshees, or in firefights with multiple enemies.
I felt like I was working too hard for too little in return. Maybe it would be better with Stability gear.
I want to try it on a Turian Soldier.... but first impression... 5 out of 10.

If you're trying it on an Infiltrator, you're doing it wrong. It relies too much on staying in cover, and its accuracy is much too finicky out of cover to be reliable in combat situations for Infiltrators, since SOP is that they have to stay mobile to be at their best. Soldiers, however, can abuse the ever-loving snot out of this thing, and almost all make great use of it. Human Soldier adrenaline rush leads to unspeakable things to a target caught in your crosshairs, to say nothing of what a competent N7 Destroyer, or Turian/Batarian/Krogan/Vorcha Soldier can do with it. It also rocks on Sentinels; The Turian Sentinel's use of it is obvious, but it works very well on the Sentinels for reasons obvious: Krosent (no need for cooldown) Batarian Sentinel (Submission Net means easy kills, plus you can disrupt with Shockwave), Vorcha Sentinel, and even the Human Sentinel (Warp, then blast the target with your rape-cannon) all make solid use of this weapon.
I'm genuinely impressed by it. My only real beef is its recoil outside of cover.
Tried it on Destroyer spec'd for Accuracy, RoF and damage. Also gave it stabilizer weapon mod and AP mod. Took a full mag of 21 bullets to take down ONE Hunter on Gold. The 2nd Hunter who was close by soon made short work of me. What a pathetic waste of my time the Argus is.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE for the love of God, Bioware give us the Bloodpack Punisher and or the Adas AR.

This is exactly the way it performs in SP. I like it in SP, but then again, I mostly fire out of cover in SP. In MP, that's not always an option. I always expected that they would have to majorly ramp up the damage or cut down the weight for it to be a great MP gun. From the look of it, the damage is good enough, but if they didn't cut the weight, it won't be used much. It shouldn't weigh more than the Harrier.JaimasOfRaxis wrote...
All right, full weapon analysis time.
If the Avenger is the M-16, and the Harrier is the AK-47, then the Argus is the FAL.
At level X, It is hugely powerful - 2-3 body shots will kill an assault trooper, given no upgrades or mods, on Bronze. At close range, a 3-round burst will instantly drop a Phantom whose shields are out on Bronze. On Silver, it is less-impressive, but still quite powerful, reliably punching through enemy health with distressing flair. Downing Cerberus Troopers in 2-4 shots (or one headshot and a bodyshot) is a common occurence. On Gold, they go down in two bursts, provided you get nothing but bodyshots. That's not bad at all for a weapon of this type.
All of this is offset by its recoil - it has the angriest recoil of any weapon thus far - seriously, it's worse than the Incisor in this regard. Unlike the Incisor, however, you can manage it better by firing it outside of aiming (this makes no sense but whatever), and if you fire it from cover, its accuracy improves tenfold. It's a great weapon for taking and holding terrain, and I can see it becoming much more effective if carefully-managed.
With mods, this thing is a beast. Non-Turians will need a Barrage upgrade, and probably Stabilization Modules to get the most out of unless they use a Stability Dampener for it, but these can reduce its kick to a more-managable state. It is, again, best when operating from cover, and is most-likely to be at its best when on maps with acceptable cover; Artyom and I tested it on Hydra, but it would probably do well anywhere.
I will say this: It is NOT a weapon for the faint of heart. It's got accuracy problems and if you go into a fight expecting to use this like other guns, you will DIE. Its initial accuracy is quite good, but its harsh kick means that whilst the first shot will always land on-target, the second will be about 6-12 inches higher (more if distant) and the third about the same again higher than that. Carefully aiming means you'll reliably hit with the first shot, or you can try to aim low to hit with all three from afar - but again, you're best off using it from cover.
I'm genuinely impressed by it. I'll need to give it more thorough combat tests on Platinum Runs later.

No, that's because C-Sec is incompetent.

Recoil is virtually nonexistant with a Barrage pack and a Recoil Damper. Turns it from a "Fire from cover only" gun into a nail-driver.
Just played a match with it, using a Destroyer. Had the barrage upgrade equipped, along with I think a stability amp 2. Didn't notice any recoil at all, and had fun with it. I'm terrible at headshots, and I got quite a few of them with it. My Devastator Mode is not spec'd for accuracy, either. I'll be curious to see how bad the recoil is on, say, a Krogan.
Good times. I like it overall, and suspect that at some point it'll get a buff.
