Your idea is really good, and consistent with the earthborn background. I actually think that for some PCs (not only shep) there should be a possibility to become a pornstar and gain extra money. Or for an asari PC to be able to become a dancer as a secondary profession, etc. As long as it is consistent with lore, of course. Things like krogan gay pornstar doesn't make sense (would be hilarious though).

sounds like they're trying to ignore us again because we haven't been given them enough praise lol O_O
We are giving them ideas to inspire them just by our free will. I am not demanding they take my ideas, I am just posting for fun. They could pick a few ideas here, a few there, but no full story/idea posted here will probably go live. But that is exactly what I expect from bioware, that they gather the most feedback as possible to create a unique and awesome game.
You should try giving them some ideas too for their next game.

No, I liked your idea in general. What I quoted was to emphasize that it could apply to any character. Where is that mock story you mentioned? Did you open a topic on creations about it?
Gotcha. And no, I didn't. I don't use forums much, so don't know where to go to put stuff.
I thought it'd be fine to post the mock story here.

For the sake of my favorite game, and Jesus Christ himself; DO NOT MAKE A MASS EFFECT PREQUEL. We want to go through a depression like after a World War, with lots of survival of the fittest and crime. And don't make that joke of an ending where all beings are half synthetic half organic. Shepard died, we mourn, we remember, and we use it as an example to build a stronger galaxy.
dont want to be a stick in the mud here, but the ending of 3 has really put a damper on all potential games that would have the setting after the reapers. a prequel is inevitable

who's "we" ?
As far as I know, "we" don't actually want that. How is that fun? That'd be more suited for a note of history rather than actual game setting, at least for the Mass Effect universe :/

1.No prequel and no MMO.Ever.
2.More RPG,less BS.
3.Palaven,Thessia,Illium,Kahje and Earth should be in the game, not as rubble but in the form of "friendly" hubs that you can explore,do business with, take missions from etc.
4.Bring back planetary exploration but instead of the Mako give us something like the Hammerhead.
5.The prologue/tutorial of the game should take us through the events that "made" our character.ME:T equivalent =Learning to shoot on Earth from your gang/your father teaching you how to shoot on Mindoir/Using tactics to survive Akuze/Surviving the "Skyllian Blitz" etc.6.New playable race in addition to humans.7.I'd like to start small and work my way up so give me a rust bucket instead of the best ship in the entire galaxy and some "toilet duty" as my first assignment.
8.Loot,more ways to make money and more ways to spend money.9.Take.Your.Damn.Time.

1.) I agree no prequel, I wouldn't mind a MMO based on the mass effect universe, no cannon or anything,if anything do something like EvEonline does. Tho if they wanna do a FPS based on the last battle or battles of the reapers as a "side game" then I think I could go for that.
2) I think you mean less auto Dialoge?
3) sure
4) not this debate again..... it would be better if they do both...
5) meh that sounds more like something should make for a flash game not a full game...
6) agree
7) umm... no unless you are going to make it completely sandbox there is really no point in doing that imo
8) again unless they go sandbox I dont think it will happen
9) wont happen... EA overlords want games out fast so they can sell them.

1. Number of Players
Whatever the game will turn out to be, I want it to be a story-driven singleplayer experience. On the one hand, I do not care for competetive online gaming (and yes, the reason is you're probably better than me at your favourite game). On the other, as much as I adore co-op campaigns in other games, it keeps me from losing myself in the world/narrative.
2. Spaceships
Mass Effect is a sci-fi universe. When you think about it, despite the fact you couldn't ever really operate a single one, the catalogue of thoroughly designed spaceships of all the races is already far above the average. Being able to fly around freely (not just some single designated mission) in the mass effect universe would be a dream come true.
Don't get me wrong, I want no Larry Holland's XWA. No sim-like controls. A mako with no wheels (or planet) underneath it. A roll button and some laser cannon. Just imagine approaching a mass relay with "your" ship and hitting "jump". Nobody had your Shepard, but everybody had your Normandy.
3. Disturbingly petty RPG stuff
(The following things actually matter to me. I'm the guy who always walks onboard the Normandy or on hub worlds.)
I want to be able to sheathe my weapon whenever I feel like it. It's my decision whether I want to stumble into an ambush unprepared; unlike ME 2-3 where auto-drawing your guns right before each upcoming battle would "spoiler" all the fun. Also, even with the weapon drawn, have the characters point them either up- or downwards (lacking the proper tactical term) when not shooting for a while. I don't want to tight-aim at every door, lever or panel.
Keep loading screens to a minimum. ME2 was horrible compared to ME1 doing such a great job in this particular thing.
Also, just for the record, in ME 2+3, the walk/run treshold (outside combat) was terrible, as was the actual walking speed itself. Resume again ME1 for how it's done.
Yeah, this. Trying to say something new without reading through 100+ pages,
Yours truly

Nevermind, I'm just sad that they destroyed this universe with their silly ending... art.... art..... it's like putting a troll face on Mona Lisa and calling it artistic integrity... with the extended cut they gave some details to that face but it's still a troll face that doesn't fit into the picture.

Maybe not quite end of war depression, more like a galaxy in transition. I would love to see how this galaxy reforms whist trying to pick up the pieces of their past existences. The reaper war was a massive event in this universe. Instead of seeing ME3 as an ending lets see it as the catylyst (sorry for the unintended pun) for a new story, one that shows and let us influence the power struggles that emerge and take shape.

Have to agree with the last point. Ever noticed how the quality of Mass Effect games dropped (now I'm talking about story not visuals and combat stuff) since EA gained more and more influence? I don't know if anyone played Need for Speed Shift 1 and 2, they're not bad games but they're way too arcade and not a big deal. It's made by Slightly Mad Studios who's now free of EA and look at they upcoming game: Project CARS is frickin amazing so far!!!! Because they now have time and I bet their game will be a top selling game in par with RFactor 2.
Same goes to the Dead Space franchise. Don't get me wrong, DS2 was amazing but nowhere near the atmosphere of the first game and as far as I see DS3 will be rather a casual shooting game with some horror elements not an actual horror game. Someone should really shake of the.... the.... bosses at EA. Casual players may can provide quite an amount of money in short terms but long terms only the true fans will remain and if you can't satisfy them... well, EA won't be the first publisher who'll go down in the history...

What about if they went even farther back to the cycle before the Protheans? Maybe even the FIRST cycle? Experience the creation and rise of the Reapers? Of course, it would be a little unwieldy to play as a Leviathan, but you could play as a member of a subjugated rave, starting the game being a part of the rebel faction to be free from the control of the Leviathans (most everyone of your species love the Leviathans, as they bring stability and progress, being an advanced race). The Leviathans could be like the Overlords from Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke. Throw in the reaper threat and you could have a great plot.
Or, there could be this race in a previous cycle that contracts a horrible disease ala the Flood from HALO. And they have to choose between the oncoming reaper threat or being destroyed by the disease. Or something. The key is to go so far back with your prequel it doesn't feel like a prequel.

As far as plot, just give Garrus his own game. It would be kind of hard to screw that up. (unless someone was dumb enough to let him die on the suicide mission)

I mean, I think if they went far enough back a prequel could be interesting. I like the idea of someone else's that the ME4 takes place during the Prothean's cycle. The Prothean's journey to save the galaxy could mirror Shepard's in interesting ways, and the Prothean cycle is different enough so that it would have a completely different "feel" to it. But I think people might get tired with the Reapers, we need a new galactic threat.

Yea, no human protagonist means no buy for me, and a lot of other people. So the only kind of prequel that would work is a post First Contact War one.

Why? Not criticizing you, just curious. You're saying that no matter how good the game was, you wouldn't play it because the protagonist wasn't human?

I can't play a game where I can't relate to my avatar on the most basic levels, meaning I can't even enjoy playing as a female or a slightly altered human, like a dwarf or an elf. I love what I am too much to try something different, even in a world where it doesn't even matter.
BTW No offense, but an ME3 RTS and FPS are horrible ideas.

It is awesome you can be happy with who you are, but I wouldn't necessarily say that others are unhappy with themselves because they want that content, but I know many people who are similiar. Many of them also feel the same way against magic as well. Which I understand. As for other races, I don't think they will work due to the vast story diffrances in a game. much differant than elves/humans/dwarves. Asari are all female, Salarians don't fall for anyone but asari, even each other, Quarians and their suits(if they are even an option if you sided with the Geth) It has to be human, not to mention these races have certain perspectives and a player controlled one would make for some strange storylines. I imagine a Salarian making a lewd comment to a human, or a drell to tell a hanar to stop the explicative politeness already. On top of all that, with the different molds, Voice acting, writing in explainable plot holes... it has to be a human.

But that is part of bioware's job, to give a non-human character dialogue options according to his race, mores and lore. A krogan should be nearly always "hostile" while talking to council races and a salarian should always have quick and intelligent ideas on how to solve situations, asari being more charismatic, etc. That is for the RPG part.
For combat, I see you haven't tried MP. Each race has its own flavor and believe me it is a big difference in how they fight. Have you seen the asari with their biotic dash? Hell it would be sweet to play one for a SP campaign! And krogan with their melee and hardness, better suited for close combat.
Well, maybe I went off-topic with this, but what I mean is that it is possible and it is FUN playing as other races, believe me. The RPG part requires work from bioware, but that is what they do best, creating good characters.

i really hope you can play as a qaurian and in romance options that could give a lot of things because if you romance a qaurian it's okey an other race it's dangerous and to play as a qaurian in a campain would be really cool because you can maybe even customize his or her face and from the photo of tali they are a little bid human like so there you have them maybe being the closest to humans and how they do maybe also now they have a world to live on
