Just rename the thread: The Mass Effect Team wants to hear your feedback or something similar.

Maybe replace with Mike Gamble for thread title.

Mass Effect: Noah's Ark

Throughout history ships have disappeared from all over the galaxy. Many various types of ships from all races and the technology and knowledge contained within just vanished of which has been going on for hundreds of thousands of years. What we/they never knew was that a powerful race was behind the disappearances...(not godlike race) but just a race with unique technology allowing them to open wormholes that could transport ships from one galaxy to this new one in an effort to preserve life knowing what was to befall our current galaxy because of the reapers. Maybe that race existed prior to the Leviathans or maybe existed alongside them, there is many possibilities and no-one knows the answer.

From every reaper cycle, some ships from each of the races were transported to this new galaxy far away where they were to make a new home for themselves of which was never discovered by the reapers. Whenever a reaper ship had got close to the other galaxy, the race with wormhole technology simply sent the reaper vessels far away using that technology (or maybe collapse the created wormhole with the reaper ship inside destroying it) so this new galaxy is safe and untouched by the reapers. This same technology is used to protect the wormhole creating platform(s) from any ships it has brought across too, it would simply create a wormhole to transport the ship that got too close further away so as such no-one knows anything about what the race that created them was like or what happened to them since no-one has ever seen any ships coming or going from these platform(s) and no-one has ever boarded one.

Not only does the new galaxy have all the current races in small colonies...but also small and large colonies formed by the transporting of some ships from each race throughout the different cycles which have made the new galaxy their home. No-one knows which race was the first brought into this galaxy as the race that developed the wormhole technology had gone extinct hundreds of thousands of years ago and the wormhole creation platform(s) have been running on automatic all that time both bringing new species there and automatically sending reaper ships away. All races in this new galaxy have unique technology and cultures depending on the point in history they were brought across at and throughout time the races that have been there for centuries or longer have mingled and blended, evolved together plus every new race brought across through the different cycles would impact the political and technological status quo for a period of time.

I use brackets for platform(s) because I think maybe only being one would suit the name Noah's Ark more so than many of them but I guess multiple platforms could also work. You could also technically bring across any of Shepard's still living companions via bringing any ship they were on after the war though Sheperd him/herself is dead at the end of the war regardless so obviously just not him or her. Could even bring Javik across to the new galaxy if lived I suppose and he can find the colony of his own people there who were bought across in a ship(s) during his cycle and made it there home at that time, ones who prospered and survived in this new galaxy.

:D

A simple request: No more spammy announcements over the radio/tv etc...

ME1: It is really annoying with Mira at Peak 15 in Noveria.

Granted that ME2 was less spammy, I like how it worked in Omega, not too much and certainly not too loud (unlike Mira who did it constantly and loudly). I like it on the Citadel as well because I could choose freely when I wanted to listen to a news report, and not have it forced on me all the time.

Then in ME3 it gets awful: The reaper broadcasts are really frustrating when I try to listen to other character's talking. Yes, I know the situation is dire and urgent, but don't go over the top with this sort of spamming, as a player it just makes me angry, it doesn't provide any immersion or realism.

This is really crucial because of how Bioware changed the conversation system. Instead of talking to random npc1 in 1st person view; we have to stand next to the character and listen in on what is being said. Which can be difficult to hear with the broadcast constantly spamming its announcements.

Also some of the dialogue sometimes gets cut off in the middle of someone speaking. I'm not sure it this is just a bug, or that the game is using some audio priority system where the reaper broadcasts seem to take precedence above every npc on the Citadel.

I would also like to point out that I'm talking here as someone who plays the games without any subtitles.

Pretty sure they won't pull the overhearing conversations equaled added to quest list next time around as it was a highly disliked and mocked element of ME3. It would be quite foolish of them to repeat that method. As for radio broadcasts and such that's ambiance and it should add to immersion. The smart thing to do would be to add audio sliders like most games do which have separate options for ambiance and vocals, music and such.

I have two different thoughts about what the new mass series could be.

1. Yes I would like somehow Shepard and his crew to be back but a little later in life such as when Shepard has a family with which ever lady he decides to be with  (for me it was Talia). And have him and his crew go outside the milky way.

2. Have possibly the children of the original crew take over and go beyond our galaxy

I think he left because he finally realized BioWare sold its soul to EA and can never get it back.

Neither of those are good idea's we don't need any character's related to the trilogy (they'll end up being the 2.0 version's of them really) and its time to add some new blood to the series.

Casey Hudson doesn't want to hear our ideas anymore, because he doesn't give a duck anymore.

He's probably relaxing on Hawaii laughing at our stupid posts.

My impression is that Bioware got great writers. I also notice that many dragon age inquisition features would have been great in a more open ME universe.

Perhaps some possibly isolated areas, pockets of civilisations, where the typical ME rules did not apply as normal:

-A world where some of the early Asari expeditions ended up isolated, be it for technological, social, or environmental reasons. Space travel from the planet got too complicated because of some specific features in the space around the planet, their tech-level at the time they landed didn't make it possible to get back to their old civilsation and eventually did they not do it despite getting their own technological (or biotech/cyber/biotic?) variations that would have made it possible. Perhaps the Ardat-Yakshi ended up being the ultimate expression of social rank, perhaps it solved things, perhaps it turned biotic & tech upside down, perhaps barbary?

-A place where the Volus are the ones not having to wear suits.

-What if the insects and the plants ended up having the social role that the Asari had in their regions of space. Or simply a matter of tech.

-Shrimps, sushi and riesling. Got to have it, just got to have it.

Powers and progression: I personally found the rewards for "Leviathan" DLC to be flat and uninspired, making me thing that perhaps more powers should have been unlocks for meeting and getting on the good side of entities, like, say the Leviathan(s).

Destiny: I notice that deus ex machine and a mythological "destiny" is popular, especially in teen and US-literature. Bioware is not the worst in this regard, but with Shepard was it tendencies of making Shepard into a mythological character that was right...just because. Qualities is such a far better way to do it. It might feel less certain and all, but the designers can shape it, despite being about a waitress, a clerk at the local court, or a farmer (if time and resources let you).

Sidenote: Funny about the game "Destiny" where nothing seems to be very destinied at all.

Multiplayer:

-Less conflict between biotic and tech. Those conflicts should have been predicted in a game for casual and free-form recruitment.

-I do not care much for or against achievements, but I noticed some trends: Some players ended up strangely "locked" into achivement hunting and of course did it influence the results for (and against?) everyone else. Some friends noticed and we got a moderated priority where the achievement hunters also ended up having a far less stressful time. I imagine that for newer players, or players without a social network in-game, would achievement focus be more negative that made it harder to create social networks. I do not know what I would have done, or what I suggest, but perhaps some adjustments on how achievements are "gameified".

Probably way too late to add anything of substance here...but here goes.

Please do not do a prequel or 'sideline' story to the original ME trilogy.  Show us beyond a shadow of a doubt that the post-ME3 universe is not only an awesome place to adventure/explore in, but that it is and awesome place just to live in as a citizen.

Having played the original pre-EC ending, that is the one impression that I find it almost impossible to change my point of view on:  I felt that 'saving' the galaxy in the way that we did was worse than letting the cycle continue.

While EC did add that as an option, I am of the feeling that this was a middle finger to people who disliked the original endings (though intellectually I can see that it may have been intended otherwise, but personal feelings won't allow me to really believe that -- only my opinion, couldn't care less if I was the only one who felt that way, that's how it made me feel.)

Most important:  take your time.  DA:I seem to be doing it right.  I'm writing this pre-release, so only time will tell, but I'm very cautiously optimisitic for that project -- not so much based on the marketing, but the fact that they have pushed back the release on more than one occasion to ensure a quality product.  I'm convinced that all the disappointments that I personally felt regarding ME3 (and yes, DA2) would have resolved themselves with another 6 months to a year development time.

I am fine with this setup. I didn't realize the story potential till I looked back on what I am currently writing myself. :D    At first I didn't realize I was doing the same type of concept till I wrote out what it was doing.

Hope you all keep it up nicely. Looking forward to the new ME. :)
