Since the ending broke just about every single piece of established law in the franchise

How about more side missions <~ like mass effect 1 had.

- More Dialoge

- More Team mate missions

- More Loot

- More Outfits, Gear, Attachments, Weapons, to choose from

- More Customizing of mako, your ship, your crew

- More DLC and DLC that explains parts of the story <~ like me1 2 and 3 had but more missions

- A Upgrade system that allows u to buy more defense, barriers, armor, interior design, everyting for your ship and your apartment.

- More content. more filler's

- More epic space fight's

- More bar's, casino's, mall's, planet's with larger citys <~ allowing us to visit more then 3 part's of a city.

- Allow player's to have better conversations with NPC, I like hearing about there story's! Maybe we can help them?

- Allow us to revisit past bar's club's, NPC's, people we encountered in the first mass effect, second and third.

If not because of new character, then let us hear about in detail what has happen to them, zues hope, noveria, etc etc.

- Update more frequent news on alliance news network, let's hear some real news. Like CNN style.

- Better shop's to buy from, more items to buy. Weather it helps u, ur mission, or not. (we like pretty stuff) lol

- Bigger gun's, stuff that goes Ka-Boom! (Man We Sure Did Like That Black Hole Gun In ME2!) wink wink*

- More contact with other person you become attracted to or gain a relationship with.

(God Tali Your Sexy Without Your Mask) Hey That's Cause I Took My Mask Off! (Wait! I Can't Breath) O.O

- More Back story of your team mate's! (Were the hell did you come from? Man you got huge butt) O:

- More Everything! Come on bioware!

Think people Lets get creative here.

Has there been any word on previous non-crew member characters returning? I'd love to see Aria make an appearance. She's one of the most interesting characters in the franchise and Omega is one of the most interesting places. I'd love to see it expanded upon, plus Carrie Anne Moss is a wonderful actor. That station could have an awful lot of potential if written well.

At first they said no, then they said yes. Which is strange given they said it won't tie to the shepard trilogy, so how can you have a squadmate from ME in then next game without it taking place during the shepard trilogy, especially since we already know what they were doing while absent. The only logical conclusion would be that the game is a sequel (not prequel since they said the shepard story will be referenced). It would have to be very far off in the future to account for the vast differences in the endings (unless they retcon), perhaps they can use time to sort of normalize the differences. So that would leave the squadmates with a long lifespan: Liara, Samara, Wrex, and Grunt. But then you run into the issue of them being possibly dead.

edit: just noticed you said non crew, my mistake. In that case, Aria would make sense. I'd be interested in seeing her character developed a bit more.

Would be good to get some good hairstyles for the next game. I know DA:I was held back somewhat (due to cross gen), but the hairstyles and beards are severely lacking. What I mean by this is; a lack of good variety (especially for females) as well as generally looking a bit off.

I agree about hairstyles, need more of them. Add mohaws, fauxhawks and other cool hair styles. Also more quests like leviathan. I liked those detective stuff.

There were two polls. One before EC and one after it. Before Extended Cut, yes, people who didn't like the ending were in a majority. After the Extended Cut, the split was about 50/50. So no, it's not a minuscule minority of people who like the ending.

Yep, and i could bet that most of the endings in any continuous series gets mixed receptions. B5 did, x-files got, etc..

Then I suggest you google it and have a look around. You are in a minuscule minority, but your opinion is yours. The majority would disagree though. If Bioware had the balls to throw up a poll asking whether people wanted it retconned I think it's a safe bet that 'yes' would be a landslide winner. Just because you like it doesn't change the fact that most don't. Since the ending broke just about every single piece of established law in the franchise, it's hard to imagine how ME4 can even exist without at least some minor retconning going on. Either established law needs changing or the ending does. But we're covering old ground and this thread isn't asking for another moan about the ending to a three year old game.

Dont speak for others.
If there is 10-50 whiners who posts in internet, it does not make ending bad.Thats not a much out of 3+ million players.

Ending was great. Still people are speaking about the ending, how many other game ending people are talking so much after few years? hmm..none?. People doesnt talk about bad endings so many years later.

Also ending in 3 didnt break anything, it completely allows support of games that are after the reaper war timeline and it doesnt need redoing anything. They already had to make canon choices in me2 to 3, because failing suicide mission is not canon.

SInce this isn't the thread to discuss this, I'll just say this one thing then back out.

The endings were wildly unpopular.  It was a hell of a lot more than "10-50" people.  The boards were freaking on fire after release.  There was a point where the entire spoiler section was locked down for a couple of hours things got so ugly. Yes.  Every single thread.  And it wasn't just here.  Even mainstream news was reporting on the backlash.

How much EC "fixed" things is debatable.  Yes, it made things better for some people.  But not for others.  And then there's the crowd that simply walked away and found another game before EC even happened (which would skew EC's results as well).  But given there are still hard feelings almost three years later shows just how deeply and negatively the ending affected a lot of folks.  The endings are certainly not "great" to a substantial chunk of people.  Heck IT is almost certainly a direct result of how unpopular those endings were.

And even if the endings didn't receive that level of backlash, the outcomes make any sequel problematic.  The outcomes are wildly divergent.  Sure one set of outcomes can be canonized.  It may very well end up happening that way.  But given the general policy of "there is no canon" for Mass Effect, not to mention the serious headcanon, fanfixes,  and modding done to create our own ME3 endings (because, you know, endings being wildly unpopular), canonizing anything would cause a backlash as well.

And now I shall withdraw.

lol thats just the classic pro ending post

the majority hated the endings thats clear sure the EC made things better and calmed people down

but still most people hate the endings and the original endings won't be forgotten just because the EC was released its all about the first experience (which was ****)

just because people still talk about it doesn't mean its good thats just a silly

but I guess its good that Casey & Mac did reach some people with their artistic BS and "Speculations for everyone"

but C'mon saying that its just some trolls that hate the ending is just wrong you have to do better than that

Ehhh.   The first endings that came, ehh,  I'll say that more people were displeased with that than they were the EC ending.   People that still scream about the endings are Americans who think that every story should have a happy ending, at least IMO.

You humans are all racist!

And no, it's not just Americans.  And it's not all about "happy endings".  No matter how often people try to reduce it to that.

Okay now I really am out .

Besides this being a hilarious comment, I can never be mad at you, Spider-Man (big fan, seriously).

My reply though: Vandalism D: Also, not according to the history books in Interstellar... (I'm pretty sure that's one of the only things that's not really a spoiler).

Back on track, what I gather from what we know so far is that it's going to be before the ending of ME3, so that limits a lot of things, but in a good way when compared to what the endings bring, similar as they may or may not have been... Open-ended statement guys. If it turns out to be after ME3... well, I might not be a professional writer, but I like to dabble in predicting what's gonna happen next in a story or a franchise and well... I got nothing, they seem pretty stuck ('seem' being the operative word here, I'm not the one making the big bucks around here, or any bucks for that matter).

What I do recall about one of my favorite stories, Crusade in Jeans and specifically its adaptation, is that the American version

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR CRUSADE IN JEANS

We're good? Alright, has a happy ending where the main couple gets back to our time instead of leaving it open-ended. Regardless of the changes from the original book (which despite being a huge fan, I don't have a big problem with; I even like some of the changes as I was basically crushing on Jenna), it does make me wonder if this is a recurring thing. This warrants more research. Inventor out.

About me 3 ending reminded one thing that bioware should fix in next mass effect is that they should hire a mathematician. There was a miscalculation in the war asset score so that made choices meaningless, like shepard surviving was impossible outcome. If they would not have made that miscalculation im sure there would be less people angry. (but still as my live theater acter friend says any entertaiment is good if its manages to give any type of emotion.)

Because of bad mathematics, they also ruined completely the economy of the first me. No point adding inventory again if they just ruin the economy again.

It was far, far more than the math error that wrecked ME3 and its "choices" (though yes, the repeated claims MP was "entirely optional" did become rather comically sad after it was proved untrue by players)

tbh it's more likely that vast majority of people actually feel indifferent about the endings. Though there is no doubt a decent number of people who either love or hate the endings.

Bioware please scrap the multiplayer unless it's going to become more coop based.

We don't need another amazing game to turn into a jump around halo or cod game.

I hate multiplayer on mass effect. It is boring and takes away room to add more missions,

storylines, side missions, characters, dialoge, person to person conversation improvements.

I didnt like multi in me3. Please dont add it to the new one just for that very reason. I love mass effect

because it is the only game and title of any game ever that is more storyline based then any other and

that is why Mass Effect is my favorite title ever of any game ever. I dont want it to get runed because of

some lame pvp. Unless yall are planning to make mass effect 6 disc long then please dont add this.

I am a single player type of gamer. Dont care for pvp nor do I ever want to play any of it.

"What makes a character a hero is the story that backs that character"

"What makes a game unique is the story it tells that no other can compare to"

"What makes Mass Effect Different! Ability to do what no other can" =]
