A proper defining alien facial appearance for Tali and the Quarians - not stock-art. Go with that fan-art that was posted a while back.

All I want is to see Tali's face in-game... rendered... for real... then I can die in peace.

Saved as a selling point for the next game, confirmed.

Here ya go and as to her artist's desires-

"Tali was like a pen pal, or a friend you’ve only ever known online. Depending on how attached to her a player was, how well could they handle her appearance challenging their expectations? If she looked a little too alien, just a little too repellant, would they still feel the same way about her? Or did her personality and your history together trump appearances? It’s an interesting area to explore and I hope we can find other ways to ask that question.

To me, this has always been (and always will be) Tali. This was drawn during ME1 when she was first being designed, and when her appearance under the mask wasn’t a big deal yet."--Matt Rhodes

Not the Matt Rhodes concept art?

When his concept was revealed I saw a few posts saying something to the effect of having a preference for the stock image or they'd have Tali jump off the cliff rather than she look like that.

To be honest the Asari (of which I am a fan) are too human already, and yet, I have not seen any genetic deformity that can cause a human to have head tentacles.

They went too far with humanish aliens with the drell and way too far with quarians. But it is all done to make us want to f**k them. I had a friend with the Ectrodactyly deformity of her hands and feet, so this basically-

230px-Main_droite_1_an.jpg

and another  kid I babysat had bowing of her lower legs-
230px-XrayRicketsLegssmall.jpg
So basically the quarians look like humans with a few genetic deformities. I would expect them to look more like drell being from a mostly desert world.

But then again if the Chixulub meteor hadn't resulted in the extinction of the dinosuars would we even have a human creature on earth. So why are there so many human-like aliens in a universe of which only 1% has been explored?

I hope the quarians (if they are in the next ME) look like Matt Rhodes envisioned them. Something that wouldn't typically make a d*ck stand up.

Oh and THAT movie was an abomination as was the Engineer.

Anyone remember the movie Splice?

That's the exact right amount of uncanny valley alien but still appealing.

I would like to see an Ancient Krogan that survived their general demise; a Wrath of Khan like commander that wants to re-live the glory days. Enter Wrex, Eve, and Grunt!

I've seen the movie, yep I did. The right amount of uncanny valley/still appealing until the alien gender switches and rapes someone with its stinger tipped tail.

O.K., let's talk about romance. I've watched from the side lines for years as arguments over straight or bi or gay romances should be in, over who is romanceable and who isn't, whether its everyone or no one, should their be sex scenes or should it fade to black, should they be nude or should they be clothed,  and it strikes me that Bioware has largely forgotten what it actually means to be in a romance culminating in the abortion that is Inquisition's romance. Think about the word for a moment. Romance. The act of being of being in a 'Romantic relationship'. Romantic. Relationship.

If ME4 is to have a romance option, this romance option should be written in to the story. It should be mature. Not in terms of adult content but in terms of how it treats us, the gamer, as someone enjoying the story being told. Write a love story if you're going to include a romance option, one that's an integral part of your character's development rather than one that's there for its own sake. Make this story romantic rather than worrying about whether you should have sex scenes. Sex scenes, if included, should be there because they're driving the story, rather than being driven by teenage hormones.

One thing that really bothered me about ME3 was the way it treated your ME2 romance. It was as if the game wanted you to forget about it, pretend it never existed. For example, if you romanced Miranda during ME2, every time you met her in ME3, she was reduced to nothing more than a glorified quest giver. I hated the ending like the Jews hate the Nazis, not because it was written by a bunch of crack smoking space-hippies, but because of the way it so contemptuously dealt with your romance. The entire thing reduced to a brief still of your partner looking at the stars.

This is not how you should be handling romance, Bioware, especially given your pedigree in story writing, arguable the thing you're most renowned for as a developer. You're better than this. Better writers than this at least. So in ME4, give us a romance that resonates with us on an emotional level, one that's recognised by the game and one that's treated with the respect it deserves, and you know if you do? You'll have finally produced a game worthy of an $81.5bn industry which is still largely looked down upon by those outside it. The average gamer is an adult. Please treat us as such in your romance writing.

Ok then lets talk PC. With Steam announcing over 120 million active accounts, it might be time for Bioware to refocus back to the PC. DAI was (and still is) a mess on the PC (it's a long list of issues that I won't list in this thread. If you are curious take at look at the DAI forums). And what's the response from everyone? "Oh just use a gamepad on your PC". If I wanted to use a gamepad I'd play the game on a PS4.

So my request, (besides much MUCH better writing - you know, actual drama) don't port the PC version from the console version. Spend some time and create a separate UI for the PC. Remember, the PC has more controls and usually higher resolution screens. If you can't do this, then take the Skyrim route, and let us mod the game We players will take care of it.

And since I mentioned the writing.. and drama. DAI was poor in both. Frankly, there isn't one chararter in that game I gave a **** about. Unlike in the ME series. I cared about Jack, Kaiden, Mordin, Wrex - and the rest. And becase of this I ended up replaying the series about 6 times. To see everything. DAI I could barely finish the game.

I completely agree with the poster above concerning romances. We're adults. Sure, some kids play these games, but I suspect most of your players are over 18 years old. Stop treating the romances like an Archie comic book.

you do have a point. My first playthorugh was FEMSHEP... no ROMANCE from ME1 all the way to ME 3. But I did feel comoradship between garrus he even told me that he is willing to die alongside me :c kinda sad. Anyway I would be doing another playthrough this time with MALESHEP doing romance now

Yeah, you'll be disappointed. Where I'm coming from is this. Imagine if Mass Effect trilogy was a film trilogy rather than a game trilogy. In the second film, the movie's protagonist falls in love with a beautiful woman/handsome Alien. They literally go through death and life together, keeping each other alive throughout a suicide mission. The movie gets rave reviews for its story telling and someone wins an Oscar. Then the third film comes out and the entire events of the second's romance is largely forgotten, reduced to a few lines by cameo appearances from the second movie's co-star. The film would be absolutely  savaged by critics.

Mass Effect wasn't a movie, it was a game but the game industry is worth twice that of the global film industry. Isn't it time gaming grew up and started treating its audience with the same respect the film industry does movie goers?

This is an idea for a new character in ME Universe.

"You don't know me, I don't even know myself, Literally."

Illa also known as "The Black Rose of Omega" is an unknown female race for most people. She masters the art of Stealth and Assassination. She also joins a few mercenary groups in Omega such as Eclipse and Blue Suns. The mercenary group she joins to see her as a great asset in the team, with her talent and skills she can complete missions alone, not needing of anyone's help.

Name: Illa

Job: Assassin

Race: n/a

Gender: Female

Voice Actor: Jennifer Hale (yes!)

 Me-asari-concept1.jpg

((saw this picture over the internet, normal looking asari but whitish.

Seeing her without helmet on is rare, people cannot even see her skin with full armor on.)

Background:

Illa hides herself in a suit of black armor specializes in stealth missions. She makes sure no one knows she's an Asari and is rarely let people know she is unless you are very close to her. Everyone knows Biotics is natural to the Asari race. Illa on the other hand have an unknown Asari disease, she is the only one and the first Asari that is not capable of using any Biotics, and is probably the reason why she has bluish-white skin. Although she cannot use Biotics to attack people and defend herself. Living and surviving alone in the dark depths of Omega is enough training for her to do so, and she’s been doing this for decades. May it be killing heartless mercenaries for food or just simply killing people that threaten her, she became an emotionless insensitive individual over the course of years. She then joins a couple of mercenary groups such as Eclipse and Blue Suns. After some time of tagging along with the group she realizes she's not much of a team player and eventually leaves them and work as a lone wolf mercenary, but she refuse to burn bridges with them as she may be needing them in the future. In 2186 CE, Aria acknowledges her efforts of helping to reclaim Omega back from Oleg Petrovsky and Cerberus. This allows her to be close with Aria, who is personally choose her to kill off her enemies and people who oppose her.

Illa doesn’t have memory of the past even before her crash landing into Omega docks. She wants to learn what happen to her as she has no known past, even her family, and her last name is unknown. As someone who doesn’t have any capability to use Biotics, she relies solely on information, articles and documents. Being a master of stealth, joining in a mercenary group and having Aria on her side is a great advantage on gathering intelligence.

Decades of searching for herself and the help of her contacts, leads her to one Asari Doctor in Nos Astra that holds all the answer to her past. She later learned that her mother is Tela Vasir and she originally is an Ardat-Yakshi. Tela ever wanted is to have her daughter free, as Illa did not deserve to be in prison for the crimes she didn't commit.

The Doctor told Illa that Tela Vasir has been hunting Shadow Broker in years. Tela as a Spectre never give up and found out where the Shadow Broker Lair is and she is ready to infiltrate and arrest whoever he or she is. But the Shadow Broker has one more move to play; he offers information about the cure for Ardat-Yakshi as he has known that her daughter is suffering one. Tela Vasir loves her daughter so much so she decided leave the Shadow Broker alone and took her chances with the cure. She then accepted the offer and learned that there are Salarian Scientists that found a way to cure the disease somewhere in Omega Nebula in the Sahrabarik system. Yes, they found a way, and that is to give up harnessing dark energy, Biotics. She knows that if ever the Council finds out about the deal she made from the Shadow Broker, it will cause it her Spectre position and she will be mark as traitor in the galaxy instead of a hero. At the same time Illa will be in grave danger, she will be hunt and killed by the Asari Justicars if they have known that there is one Ardat-Yakshi that leaves the monastery or worst not yet in the monastery, they live by their code and they wouldn't stop unless they finish what they started.

The treatment is a success, Illa loses all her Biotics capability and she is now free from Ardat-Yakshi but to the expense of losing all her past memories even her mother's. Tela Vasir never knew it would cause her everything, she was devastated. The Salarian Scientists thinks it’s a complete failure and drops the project of curing Ardat-Yakshi immediately.

Tela Vasir tried to explain to Illa what happened, but she wouldn't listen. Illa run off to the laboratory going to the docks but before she can go even further, Tela stop her by using Lift. She wants to cripple her so she could not run, but the moment she saw tears in her daughter’s eye, she put her down slowly and let her go, because that’s what she ever wanted for her daughter, To be free. Even though she will never know she has a mother. Tela Vasir continued to be a Spectre and watched over her until the day she was not able to anymore.

P.S Illa already have complete background story.  I’m just checking if you guys will like this short version of her story. If you guys like it, I will post the detailed continuation here. Enjoy and hoping you guys will like it.   :) Feedback and Suggestion is open..  <3

Look at my name, of course I was gonna read all about an assassin :P I realy liked the explanation of how she got so good at useing stealth and killing. Sounded more real than "the hanar said jumpand my entire species said how high." Thats the only thing about Thane I don't like. Though gotta give the Hanar their props, they are some master manipulator's.
