Mass Effect 3 felt way too linear, where Mass Effect 2 handled the missions better. You could do many of them in the order you wanted before doing main plot missions. Plus, ME2 allowed you different situations with different characters depending on the order you recruited them while it was a little bit fixed in Mass Effect 3. How come we had to recruit Tali the last when she could've been one of the first recruits? See what I mean? More variation wouldn't hurt. The way it was done in ME2, it made me happy to go back many times and replay the story differently. This needs to be done for the next instalment and maybe the remaining DLCs for Mass Effect 3.

It's nice and all that he wants our opinions, but I'm pretty sure he actually doesn't give a sh*t.

Somehow, I agree on that too.

The best thing Casey could do for the Mass Effect universe is leave it. Forever.

I'm not being snide.  Performance is a strong indicator of potential.  And his performance proves he's out of potential.  Period.  Dot.

As long as it's a character-driven story-focused RPG, I approve. The player character needs to be fully customizable, preferably with the choice of species. Choices also need to be made important, with actual consequences, not just different dialogue. Also, no auto-dialogue please. It massively sucks.

Oh, and PEER EDIT. Please. Nobody is perfect, and reviewing your work with colleagues is critical when looking for mistakes.

First and foremost I'd like to see the next ME game go back to being more RPG rather than dumbed down TPS. And I know there's some debate on prequel versus sequel but I'm leaning more towards prequel. That way there's no need to even address the idiocy of ME3's ending and they can just draw from the amazing lore they built into the universe's history, like the First Contact War, the Rachni wars, Krogan rebellion, etc.

Definitely more RPG elements should be added. Removing those killed a lot of the depth the game had, although the combat was still top-notch. There's plenty of room for new conflicts as well, given how large the universe is. I'd definitely be interested in traveling to new regions.

No prequels and no cannon ending. I want a new story. Try making it in another part of the galaxy. The milky way is done.

No more "One button does all". I don't care about anything else! Just that!

Also, a little bit of space combat might not go amiss.

no auto-dialogue
no mission that forces you to take certain squadmates
romances are equal for all LI's

I don't know how they'd pull this off. I don't think anyone's interested in a sequel, but something taking place after the original series would just put the final nail in the coffin of the whole "decisions matter" thing.

I'm not interested in a new Mass Effect game, but I would suggest not telling tall tales of the kind that'd make Peter Molynaux cringe this time.

I think there are a lot of unresolved questions about what happens next in the destroy ending. I actually think the state of the galaxy then is a lot more interesting than it was at any stage during ME1-3.

So new story based on destroy ending set about 30 years after ME3 based loosely on trying to restabilise the galaxy, recolonise worlds and rebuild the relays. There is nothing wrong with doing another 3rd pperson shooter/rpg hybrid. There are very few games in this genre out there, me is somewhat unique. New character for the player. It would be great to be able to play as aliens, not sure whether the voice acting would prohibit that or not.

Edit. I don't want a prequel, would be very disapointed with that. Not too keen on an mmo either although I would probably give it a go.

I really like that idea because it adds in the space exploration that we all like and I think it could lead to a cool plot while also some extra cool things. For example your someone who explores space after the relays get back up and you get your own colony. No more commander say hello to Admiral. For myself some of the best things about mass effect was interacting with your crew on the ship, what about interacting with them on your colony? I mean this wouldnt be the plot of just building a colony or a space empire, but just a part of the game. Letting the plot be one of space courruption or the Yahg who knows what is up with them, they werent bothered with the reaper threat and have had the chance to thrive and grow as the other races must repair what is left after a galatic war.

Also I know we all like Shep but why is everyone all like he must be in ME4 he is the lead character and makes the series. Guy's you all do know that Shep was a blank character? He was something that we all shaped in different ways to make him act like we wanted. Adding in a new leading character is no different since we know their gonna give us the descions to shape their journey and the way they act. I for one like the idea of a new character sure Im gonna miss my shep and the relationships that were built with the crew members, but BW is good at making characters that we fall in love with, and new adventures mean those new expirences.

Please no prequel. A bunch of people complained that at the end of ME3 your choices didnt matter, well if you play a prequel none of your choices will matter in the end anyway so it makes no sense. Things in the past are set in stone so why play a rpg where you want big choices in a game where there cant be any?

No prequels.

New era, new galactic stage, new threat, new species, new characters.

More dialogue options, more fleshed out villains, more intrique to the plot.

I hope Bioware is taking notes because I can start to see a general consensus forming here: many people saying similar things.

1. I could go one of two ways plot-wise:
a) a significant number of years after the ME3 ending (at least 200 or so) but that would require BW to choose the canon ending (Destroy would be the only one making sense). All the rebuilding that would still be taking place, new alliances/rifts that have formed, etc. Not Earth-based PC, if human, then originating from some other planet. No previous companions either...it would just remind us of the moment of WHAT?!? at the end of ME3
B) go outside the galaxy, but it could be in the time of ME1...as a PS3 player, I never could play ME1 so that entire time period is a mystery to me. No mention of Shepard necessary, nor any of the events that occurred in ME1. An open world concept would be interesting, especially on unexplored planets...think about the cool environments you could come up with and civilizations you could find.

2. I like the MP but it should not be IN ANY WAY pertinent to the SP experience. Nice try but excludes an entire legion of players for various reasons.

3. Equal LI opportunities regardless of gender/orientation...and a more mature treatment of the entire relationship, including the requisite "romance scene." If the game is rated M, it doesn't need to be PG. Explicit isn't necessary but they go too far the other way. Made me wonder why it was rated M, actually. And other companions can actually recognize that you are having a relationship, even if (and especially if) the worst happens.

4. MOST IMPORTANTLY - take your time and finish it properly. Don't let the accountants and marketing guys pressure you into a repeat of the ME3 problems. And finish it properly would include having a collaborative effort for both story and writing. Don't forget, we have lots of choices for our leisure time. Taking your time and doing it well (as we all know you can) is the only way to convince people to choose BW.

Yeah, I'd agree, no prequels. I hate to sound like a downer, but with knowing how ME3 ends, the suspense is gone.

No prequels because we all know how it's going to end. Halo Reach is different because you don't have this galaxy altering/synthesis crap that ME3 got littered with in the end.

We all want to know what happens next.

A Yarg revolution.
Where the Yarg are the new bad guys. (never liked them much)
Or a mass effect rts (similar to empire at war) set during the duration of ME 1,2,3

Not interested in a prequal, pure FPS or MMO.

Despite the complaints about the ending to ME3, 99.9% of the existing trilogy was absolutely fantastic. It's my favourite franchise this gen, easily. So for me, more of the same. Is there really much point in changing such a winning formula?

However, as much as I love the franchise, my only requirement is a show stopper for me. No Shepard = no interest. Shepard IS ME for a lot of people, myself included.

Another trilogy. This time, allow us to select our own race as the main character. Not just human. That would really open the doors to creativity. It seems like the only logical way to go, since BioWare already did this for multiplayer. Now it's just to stretch it into a single player experience.

No point in asking fans really, since everyone would want something different. Just don't create canon ending since that would slap some fans in the face, and don't change the rules and genre in the middle. If we are to be hero that beats impossible odds, give us good ending, if we are not that kind of hero, then give us bittersweet. Just don't change it betwen games.

-No prequels please. i think it would be boring to play knowing the outcomes..

-Canon ending/Clean slate (relays intact/race outcomes)
-Homeworld cities/Culture/Evolution after Reapers (Salarian's are geniuses. Lets see 'impossible' architecture/monuments. The changes in Geth/Quarian/Synthetic/Krogan)
-Intergalactic first contact (Knowledge from Reapers; of other galaxy's. how do we get there though....)
-(?)Knowledge from new races, Threat, origin/history of reapers. Dark matter.

tbh i think its best for the team to come up with the over arching story. what they want to create.(trilogy, 1 game?) perhaps read some books, watch some documentary's or something. go read some fanfiction hahahahaha (some are so bad)
as long as it doesnt start off with, im a kid in a village. something horrid with fire happens. my mentor dies. and im on a quest to find out why. along the way i pick up some friends and we go fight evil fire.(acutally that sounds like alot of games) Try to tie in some plot-threads from ME trilogy.

Here's an idea. You take this 3rd person shooter and (stay with me here) you introduce RPG ELEMENTS! Huh? HUH? How cool would that be? Customisable armour for squad mates, planets you can explore, maybe even giving the player choice over what the main character says and does with ACTUAL consequences!

You know what? You're right. It's a crazy idea. Never mind, stick with the gears clone.

- free-roaming space flight

- Ship selection, upgrades (shields, staff, weapons, engine)

- Planet HUBs, explorable enviorments (stations, casinos, planetsides, ships)

- More active quest-gathering (not just overhearing)

- More tactical combat roles (implement buffs and offensive-debuffs for new classes, give them roles beyond maginal different shooting mechanics / let engineers use drones as active pets or let them have a mec that can equip weapons which the engineer himself can´t carry. make classes different in their roles in combat)

- Armor should buff stats again, bring stats back.

- Loot!

Go a few hundred years into the future. I like the synthesis ending because it was a personal choice to end my Shepard's tale. But it doesn't make for an interesting sequel. Canonize the ending with a mix of all three endings. We keep all the races and the Geth and EDI. (Or synthetics in general.  Let's see them evolve...erm, naturally)

New protagonist. Let us have a little more control. I don't need to play as an N7 Alliance officer. I'd rather explore the whole Spectre angle again in this brave new universe.

If you don't jump forward too far, I'd like to see some of our old friends make cameos. Liara as a matriarch trying to rebuild Asari culture and society. Grunt ruling the Krogan. But one character should remain prominent. Garrus. Old crotchety Garrus as a companion and the great Shepard 's best pal? Yes, please. Garrus should be in every Mass Effect game. He's the true face and the heart of this franchise.

As for plot and setting? Lawlessness vs. Order in a fractured universe. Give us a good labyrinthine mystery to explore. Create some great characters and some new races. (This is the one thing Bioware is brilliant at). Let 's go forward. No more Shepard. (Have his legend be present; that 's all.) No Reapers. Get creative. Let us see what other things lurk out there in deep space.

I will make one thing clear: I have no interest in an MMO. Zero. I will not buy it. I want a shooter-rpg hybrid. As for a prequel? Nah. You built this new post Reaper universe. Let 's play in it.

Make an mmo. Swtor is awesome, if they take what they learned from that and make a mass effect mmo, I'd subscribe forever!
