i hope that any possible next mass effect game takes place in the post-reaper-galaxy - i allways do not want a new mass effect that would be anyhow less sci-fi than the last one - as my love for sci-fi-ness is what makes the ME-franchise fascinate me the most.
- also, a more - or even very, very much more focus on online-multiplay-aspect of the main singleplayer-part would be nice - the ability to meet anyone else in the same game mode where the singleplayer action takes place
"one galaxy ideals" and such - what might also not be too high a task, i mean - what would be the main requirements for such an undertaking?
cutting together the main-menue-points of "singleplayer"/ "story" and "multiplayer" to one menue-point and developing a more intensive need/ ability for everyone to create his own player-character,
as it might be the best course of action for a post-shep-ME anyway? and what would the latter require?
next to more appearance options, just little more than more than two-voice-actors too chose from, in order to give ones own character a more individual voice, i guess... .

well, yep - this are pretty much my hopes for a future title of the ME-franchise.

Ich möchte eine Fortsetzung nach der 3, dass man Shepard weiter spielt. Die dlcs sollen dabei alle kostenlos sein. Es soll einfach nach der 3 ansetzen.

Start with delivering on what you promised for ME3, and we can go from there.

My personal fan idea, always was, that the Reapers are not only harvesting one single galaxy.
It takes 50000 years to harvest the amount of x galaxies and each galaxy they visit, got its citadel and mass relays. The Citadels are used as super Mass Relays as we all know, BUT between the galaxies, or at least two of them.

Now lets say its the year 2700. Our galaxy has recovered and its kind of peace and harmony.

Synthetic ending: Nature always beats technology. The DNA change and kybernetics start to disapear, the people try to find a solution, bad emotions have their comeback, but a few still got these super upgrades and are unbelievable intelligent and powerful, same has the synthetics.

Control ending: After the galaxy recovered, the people are still filled with hate and they distrust the Reapers and Shepard. To avoid another war, Shepard and his Reaper army retreat to outer space and if the galaxy will need him again, he will come back maybe.

Red ending: Imagine any sort of advantage, that Shepard as a survivor may give u. Maybe you will be able to play as a descendant of Shepard, depending on LI, or his Asari daughter herself.

A possible story could be:
The Reapers were supposed to harvest/"safe" the galaxy andromeda about 200 years ago. As we know about each 50000 years synthetics may become a great danger. That could have happened, to Andromeda. They lost the control quarian style.
When the catalyst died, the Citadel of Andromeda suddenly lost its firewalls and barriers. The primary cultures of Andromeda, were able to enter and understand parts of the Reaper technologie of the Citadel and the Mass Relays, their technologie level evolved extremly fast, so did their synthetics. But they evolved too fast, they were not ready for the power they suddenly possesed. After the synthetic revolution, they had only one chance, to activate the Citadel and escape through it and destroy it, many lost souls where left behind in hell, Andromeda turned into. They had no idea, where it leads to.

From that point u could tell an unbelievable amount of stories.
They are thankful, that our galaxy give them a new home, but they could try to wipe out all Geth, which could lead to trouble.
The Citadel in Andromeda gets repeaired, u may be able to enter it.
You could enter the suddenly working Citadel before, the other side gets destroyed and do a Battlestar Galactica plot.
The new species with its technology could help solving problems, u may have.
They could bring back Krogans, if u wiped them out and a bloody war takes place. Same with Rachnii, etc.
But, OF COURSE, Cerberus still exists, or reformed or became even an equial and less aggressiv sort of political power. U can't wipe out Cerberus, because it is an idea. ^^

Overall i can't imagine the Reapers are just chilling 50000 years in outer space. If they at least travel for about 25000 to the next Galaxy, it is completly valid for me. The Reapers should know, that, if their assumption about the synthetics organics is true, which is what they believe, that this is a universal law and it is only a matter of time, until Synthetics of another Galaxy get that powerful, that they might try to reach other galaxies.

Mass Effect 3 Remake, with Karpyshin and Weekes leading the script.

Don't need a remake of anything but the endings. And that's one thing they've sworn never to do. This is how I feel about the Extended Cut. With a side of this.

Quote: what really gets me about these endings, what's at root of my dislike of them and what seems to sour the entire series for me, is that at the end of the 3rd trilogy installment, I found that Mass Effect is no longer about the hero of the story and instead is now about... I dunno what, really. Synthetics and organics? Some singularity theory? It's like the game got bogged down in it's own epicness and forgot the person that brought us to this story in the first place: namely, one Commander Shepard.

I would also be excited to see a game based on the Indoctrination Theory--but I guess that's also off the table because "Shepard's story ends here!"

My ideas for a new Mass Effect game: Anything at all which doesn't end in a betrayal of all the foreshadowing and themes of the games that came before it. Because in the Mass Effect 3 endings, you failed at that, in the Extended Cut as well.

I don't see how another Mass Effect game could be made, though. I have no interest in going backwards in time, and something set after the ending of ME3... does that really even work? I guess during ME3, before the end... that could work. A story-based multiplayer RPG would be cool.

It's just, knowing how it all ends... do I really want to suffer through that feeling again? No.

I guess I'd rather see a game set after ME3. But then will it fit the Destroy ending? Probably not.

I just don't know about this series anymore. I don't know if I want to see another Mass Effect game ever again. You'd have to do some hard convincing and it would have to get great reviews from someone like Sagequeen, who is clearly on the same page with me.

or, you can simply accept, that whatever happened, will not change and the fact that you guys are still active in this forum shows me, that you still got feelings for Mass Effect.
To accept, what happened in during your playthrough, all good and bad things, wasn't always easy either, was it?
To behave like angry children doesn't make it any better.
If u want to stay with Me and go with it through good and bad times stay here on this thread and try to improve it, because that is your chance.
Otherwise, and this is only an advice for your own mental health, get over it and start something new.

If your bf/gf gives u 5 wounderful years and then cheats on you, there are only two solutions as well. Leave him/her, because you can't change what happened or get over it and talk about it so it won't happen again, but staying pissed will ruin the relationship for sure.
Otherwise, and this is only an advice for your own mental health, get over it and start something new.

I know this comparison, between a loved partner and Me is extremly nerdy, but it seems appropiate for me, because, somehow, the fans behave in the same way, as they might do with a real person.

It would be interesting to play a C-Sec agent on the Citadel. The game could take place before ME1 without directly leading up to that game.
Garrus, Bailey and Harkin could maybe have some sort of a cameo. For example you help Garrus to track down Dr. Heart (you see what truly happened).

May the next galactic menace to defeat should be a gargantuan monster similar to the Leviathan that had slept for centuries, seeking more destruction than the Reapers.

Also include more multi-diverse squadmates, romances, a leader who is indomitable like Commander Shepard, the galaxy unites, use of wormholes to travel to other galaxies, etc.

ok i must say this is just simply out of order. this is neither productive nor nice. if you dont like ME 3 OK, thats your opinion. but suttlity and being tactful is important in an discussion like this. They make the effort to ask us about a next game. not what we think about them specifically.

but to tell you in your own words: get over yourself and act like an adult if you want to state your opinion.

Like i said earlier, i would love to see another mass effect game (please refer to my post earlier in this thread)

What an amazing story with never ending probabilities I have quickly listed some ideas

I like the thought of a voyager concept with the small fleets that survived Mass Effect 3

Shepard at the heart of controlling the reapers persuading species to return to earth to be harvested for round two of the galactic war perhaps with a Luke Skywalker/Vader concept I like the thought of Shepard sacrificing himself for the greater good

The Rachni war then leading towards krogan rebellions I think this will be the strongest story line. you could have the first krogan spectre lead the way (uniting krogan clans etc.) to turn the tide then see the start of the krogan rebellions and the fall of the krogan. Or you could have the krogan leader dying and the clans uniting for the greatest krogan warrior

Spectre, I like the thought of a salarian story base with STG background

The rise of the alliance with Hacket which could include Anderson’s N7 programme and Cerberus

I would like to see the beginning of the citadel and the species that built it

Overall it is an endless fantasy the story of Shepard has been a true remarkable experience with emotional consequences I have utterly loved every moment throughout the games, and I am playing through all backgrounds again including female and for the first time as a renegade.

Whatever the base line I’m with you aka you got this.

I'd love to stay with ME, and I've adored the series for the vast majority of it. Sadly, the ending to ME3 has soured my affection somewhat and left me with feelings of dissatisfaction and frustration. Why in the world would I possibly entertain the notion of becoming emotionally invested in any new trilogy, when by my own experience they couldn't finish this one properly?

I'll be here until the DLC finishes, but then I'll be calling it a day, much to my own disappointment. Sorry, but I don't trust BW to deliver any more, and I'm not sitting through another 3 games, and 5 years, only to be left high and dry again.

Well, going forward will be impossible unless one of the ME3 endings is made canon.

Not really.

At the beginning of ME4 we'll get the Shepard shower scene and ME3 will be revealed to have been someone's dream......

playing as aliens, being able to create custom faces for them as well. option for integrated multiplayer to the story. space combat that is actually good. more romance scenes ;-[

3 different versions of the game based on which ending you picked (and the state of the krogans/quarians/geth)

in one version theres reapers in another theres reapers and everyone is green and in another theres no reapers :(

I'd Actually try to get away from the current mass effect setting. And by that i don't mean "Don't make a mass effect game" but rather have the next game take place somewhere or sometime away from The setting we were in previously.
This allows the whole mass effect lore to kind of bottleneck to a status quo again after The last hugely branching trilogy, and from that new point we can start branching again.
An idea would be to kind of do a kind of voyager or lost in space thing. where the player somehow get's send far far away into unknown space and focus the story around the journey back home. By the time the player reaches the known mass effect galaxy again. Time will faded the effects of shepards actions So that the galaxy can be a new start again for a branching story.

ME4 ideas???

-Make Destroy canon the other two endings are simply silly IMO
-Return of Shepard
-Rebuilding the galactic society and face new (and hopefully more conventional) threats
-Rpg elements and exploration back as key feature
-NO auto-dialogue

this please! this is the only way to sell a new mass effect.
any other way and it wont sell. it just wont. no matter what the virals here will claim.

I agree here to, but it whould not hurt whit a new protagonist they should not ignore any of the characters we all know and love though. Shepard's journey should have a big impact on story and to see our own Shepard make a huge cameo in the game itself is kick-butt fantastic to me.

I think it would be cool to play during the first contact war. Or maybe have Garrus have his own story. Or, be able to play as Kaiden or Ashely during ME2. They have an untold story.
