If it will be a prequel, then I can guarantee you that Shepard will survive the endign(s). But as far as we knwo right now it will be a completely new story (I think it will be a lot smaller in scale than the reaper war saga was) and new protagonist. 

Makes sense. But I rather not have a prequel.

Call it "Mass Effect: Spectre". Human, Salarian and Asari are your starting race options. Each has an 'Act One' on their respective homeworlds. After they prove themselves, they are taken to the Council for Spectre testing and training.

Make it incredibly RPG'ish. Have different quest lines based on your species. Have the overarching plot be a bit more sneaky and have your character put in less of a spotlight. Start with a small 2-person ship and as you progress and gain allies, you get bigger ships.

Different companions for each race with a few of the same ones running through each Species Arc.

Good ideas. I hope BW is still capable of making such a game.

And have the Destroy "Good" ending be cannon and we're set.... though that's unlikely.  I get the sinking feeling everyone in ME4 will have green glowing eyes and such.

i want to point out  bioware stated all 3 endings are not canon wich leads me to believe if a new trilogy does come ( since there is a new me game in the pipeline) i wonder if that will play off the endings somehow
for example

if you choose control you may get to play as ash or kaiden since there now a spectre

destroy shepard lives retires settles down with his love interest and maybe we play as james since he joins the n7 program

synthesis.... i think it would be focused on dealing with how the galaxy reached that final stage of evoloution and you play as a whole new charachter


villains can be the leviathans restoring there order of making the galactic civilization there servants again ( w/e that means indoctrinated or not)

So it's like 300 years after you've defeated the Reapers, right? You're running around as Commander Jans Shophaird celebrating blastin' all those mothers into nothing and then BAM! What happens? Super reapers, that's what soooonnn! Because after that cycle got broken you find out you're in another cycle of cycles. It's a cyclical cycle that's run by the Star Child's evil(er) twin brother Rats Dlihc and his best bud Hrabinerg. And they just start wreeeeccckkkiiinnn stuff and high fivin' left and right. But you already blew up all the mass effect relays and destroyed everything so you can't fight back. It's just thirty minutes of poignantly observing that nothing you've ever done in these games matters at all. Best of all it's a $45 dollar dlc add-on (but it's cool, you get a new Elcor skin for multiplayer

When they made Mass Effect 1, and all those other great games, they said they were gamers making games for gamers. They said they loved RPGs which is why they decided to make RPGs.

Right now they are making games for money. Thats all well and good, business and all that. But Casey Hudson is not in it for the sake of having a good game. He's in it for 10/10 IGN paid for reviews and money.

I suggest, you get people that are passionate about Mass Effect and let them do it.

Months after Shepard's heroic efforts against the Reapers, the galaxy is still in turmoil. With the Mass Relays severely damaged, space travel is nearly impossible. Rebuilding efforts are underway but there is  still animosity amongst the galactic species. The mercenary groups who were once allies have turned against the fleets they were supporting and have made countless raids on allied ships. The Quarians have begun to stake a claim to their home world and have even begun to build new geth units to compensate for the disastrous loss of nearly all geth platforms following Shepard's decision to destroy them. In this time of relative peace, mistrust looms over the galactic species as they once again start to become indifferent to each other. With the Council dead, there isn't a steady government to maintain peace and war is on the horizon for what resources remain.

That's about all I have...

Here's an idea, Casey; stop thinking you're a writer. That'd be good. This, in fact, is why you have people called "writers" on your staff. Just...never intervene, especially for an ending, on any game, ever again. I don't think you'll ever see this, but if you do, I beg you to at least think about it.

I really hope they do something post ME3. Although that means they'll have to make 1 of the 3 endings cannon... I just really don't want something set before the events of ME1.

If any feedback here is read by Bioware, my preference for ME4 would be in order of preference.

1) IT theory : Shepard waking up free from Indoctrination in London, following destroy or refuse (whichever triggers it). The battle continues against Harbinger and the Reaper fleet.

2) Continue as Shepard or a new Protagonist post destroy ending.

(If a successful Refuse option is added to ME3 through DLC, I would be happy to continue down this path for ME4)

(really cant stand Synthesis, please don't continue down this path Bioware)

2. star brat. no.......just no.

3. the reapers are not the real bad guys. something else is out there (dark matter related?) which threatens everything.

4. no multiplayer bolted on garbage. if you are going to do this then sell a mass effect multiplayer game. keep the single player........ single player.

5. learn from dead space. death is brutal. don't sanitise it.

6. the battle against the reapers should have taken place over a much larger time period than 1 game - all that did was make the fight almost trivial.

7. omni-blade.... no.

8. get someone to actually quality test the game.

9. don't insult the fans by saying it's 'art' it's just a game....

10. watch B5 and see how a real space saga is handled.

I would not want to play an entire game that was a pre-quel or takes place at any time before the reaper invasion. You already know so much about future events that it becomes kind of hard to get invested in your character and his/her impact to the galaxy (however large or small that may be.)

I do agree that there are some interesting stories from that era, but I would only want them as bonus highlights, like flashbacks or whatnot.

The real question is: After we have made our big decision at the end, how can Bioware deliver us a new game that takes that final decision into consideration. While trying to avoid spoilers here, Let me just say that code green marks the biggest change to the galaxy and the people. How would that evolutionary change affect gameplay? And after an final event like that, is there room to further conflict when everything is now supposed to be Unicorns and Rainbows?

Code Red would be the easiest to work with. And depending on how far in the future it goes, there could be room for cameos by the heroes and companions you most want to meet again. This one could have the greatest gameplay changes as far as interseller travel is concerned. But you could even advance the story 1000 years and still run into Matriarch Liara.

Code Blue would also leave the majority of gameplay mechanics intact. And there could be some more story to work with regarding our new overseer.

Also another big plot point for any game set in the future would really have to address how the subjects of the Leviathan DLC can drastically affect the future of the galaxy with the reaper threat neutralized.


For me, it really is more about getting to see firsthand this brave new galaxy. Getting to revisit our old friends in the future or as flashbacks to the past would be icing on the cake.
