As im fairly excited about RtO i have an idea for a future dlc thats an extension to the main story. As i enjoyed the ending i found that i wanted to continue it further.

First off i better be able to find the witch, she gave me a ring to find her and damnit i should be able to use it. So include a quest to find the witch (most of you should know who im talking about) and that thing of yours that she has (dont want to spoil).

Next involve a quests to reunite with all of your party members, find them and see what they've been up to all these months/weeks/years? So basically your by yourself again until u find your party members, some of which should be in denerim so not hard to get back in your party. If you had a dog he whould be the only one youd start with

after all that is done introduce a new threat (darkspawn demon offspring, or perhaps a war between ferelden and a rival territory  that has found a way to control the darkspawn, whatever it is make it good)

All of which i would expect to last at least another 15-20 good hours (for an experienced player) maybe 25-35 for a noob(but after putting 50or so hours into it there probly arnt any noobs.

go ahead and include new voiceovers and more cinematic cutscenes.

ALSO INCLUDE :

Raise the lvl cap to 35-40

Introduce something called Further Specialization:
at level 21 or 28 (to go along with the 7's for specialization) the player is granted a Further specialization point which the player can put into one of the specialization he/she already has, which unlocks a second tier of abilities for that specialization. So four new abilities for that spec. This would require the creation of 48 new abilities however this wouldnt be as hard as it sounds (not saying it wouldnt take some time) because passive abilities can be created to further stengthen that specialization

possibly 2-3 new characters to add to your party

new crafting recipes

add the skill enchanting (which according to the lore cant be done by mages so probably restricted to rogues and warriors)

more backpacks

Add another party chest...but this time put it in the party camp:D

Probably not gonna happen but an arena system where you can battle friends and possibly a matchmaking system...ill keep dreaming

I know this would most likely take alot of time so maybe this could all be accomplished by early summer 2010
maybe even late spring

POSSIBLE TEIR 2 Talents and abilities for Further specialization.
(i can only speak for blood mage and arcane warrior becuase thats all ive been so far if you have any ideas for the others i will add them shortly)

:wizard:Mage:wizard:

Blood Mage

Blood Lust --> Head Rush --> Puppeteer --> Blood Plague

Blood Lust (passive)
Healing effects recieved when "blood magic" is active are now more effective
(if i only got 10% from a healing effect due to "blood magic" being active i can now get 30%)

Head Rush (AOE)
all enemies in the area have their blood rushed to there head stunning them and somtimes making them fight for you unless they pass a mental resistance check.

Puppeteer (passive)
Your control over an enemy with "blood control" is now contagious and your control can spread to other enemies. Enemies that become under your control and were not the original target of "blood control" are weaker than usual.

Blood Plague
Inflicts a contagious plague that drains the target of health every few seconds and restores a minor portion to the caster. Healing Not affected by "blood magic" penalty

Arcane Warrior

Arcane Focus --> Arcane Strike --> Call of the Spirits --> Arcane Commander

Arcane Focus (sustained)
While this mode is active the caster recieves an attck bonus based on mana. The more mana the caster has the greater the attack bonus

Arcane Strike
The caster folds lyrium into his attack for greater damage. If the target is a mage, mana is drained from the target proportional the cost of the attack

Call of the spirits (passive)
While combat magic is active the caster absorbs the power of spirits from dead bodies on the battlefield to increase attack power and critical hit chance

Arcane Commander Ipassive)
The caster is as fluent with his weapon as he is with a staff. The caster no longer must sheath his weapon to cast a spell

*ADDITION*
A side quest (similar to the pride demon one in the deep roads) where you meet a new type of demon (lets call him the demon of origin). And while interacting with it he offers to make you forget your training. By allowing it to do this to you, all of your spell points, talents, attribute points, and specialization points will be regained and you can respec into something you would find more useful. This would be very helpful because i have put points in things i dont use.
For example: i wanted to be an arcane warrior but i didnt know much about it so i went ahead and put all my points in strength, little did i realize that for arcane warriors the strength requirement is fulfilled through your magic *facepalm*

I think this would be very useful but should only be allowed once

Sounds more like an expansion pack than a DLC.

Here's a question for the original poster and anyone else, how much would you want to pay for all that?

**Spoiler**
I think thats a fantastic idea by OP, however like Torias says, that sounds like there is a whole game in itself (expansion) rather then DLC. I found the ending leaving me with an empty feeling, having chosen to romance morrigan for the entire game lol. I have been searching all sorts of posts and stuff looking for a very similar indication that bioware might have some sweetass "fix my broken ending" expansion in the works. Alas, nothing :* (. I just ordered the collectors edition and got it a few days back, i plan on beating the game again (originally beat off of a borrowed copy). So i guess to answer your question Torias, i would pay handsomely for any kind of DLC/expansion pack that would let me continue my journey and somehow give me closure to my story, be it good (i would really prefer that lol) or bad.

Yes i meant it as an expansion pack but i still consider it dlc nonetheless. I would gladly pay anywhere from 1200-1600 microsoft points for it, taking into account the price of "The Shivering Isles" for Oblivion was around that price and i'd say the two would be similar in size

For something on this scale, $20-25 would feel fair to me.

And, if Bioware could deliver quality DLCs on this scale every month or two, I'd buy them. :-)

Well projects as large as this would take well over a month to create so unless they started on them before release i doubt you'll see them once a month or every two months for that matter

*see Addition for other ideas i will be adding

i would pay quite a bit i maybe even up to 50$ i have spent that much on expansions before and i enjoy this game a lot and would like to keep going back to it one thing i would add to the OP is more light armors and mage robes seems like every armor has to be MASSIVE also why is blood dragon armor massive? it looks more like just heavy to me but i am getting side tracked

**SPOILER***

That is probably so when they make a Dragon Age 2. Your character will be the child of the Warden and the Witch. So I doubt that will be addressed any further in Dragon Age: Origins

$10 bucks at most. All it is are little additions and tweaks, except for the multiplayer mode. The reason I said $10 is because of the multiplayer alone. Exploring dungeons with random people and friends would be amazing, and battling them would be even better. Maybe make PvP battles available in The Proving?

$10 for 15-20 hours of gameplay? Doubt it.

All of that stuff he listed would never add that much gameplay. Besides, if they're going to give us that much gameplay, it'd basically be another game. I mean, I usually take around 20-28 hours to beat the game, depending if I skip conversations or not.

I would pay the price of a brand new game for an expansion if it lets me continue the story haha. I just dont want to buy 40 dlc's that give me new armor/weapons like the sims do (i have all current dlc). It doesnt add all that much to game content, and all it does is fuel ea to strip game creators creativity to make a few bucks. All and all i would like more dialog/story telling to keep my attention and less little updates that cost 5$-20$ for a weapon/armor pack or a quest that doesnt contribute to the story.

I mean, i actually have never really enjoyed an RPG since Quest for glory, cause the story telling is boring usually, its dumb grunt collecting work, and the characters are hardly relatable. Dragon age for the first time in a long while has told me a story that i have gotten into, characters that werent just "turn in quest to this person and they will stare at you indifferently". This game actually made me feel like i was part of the game and the story.

What I want to see is an expansion that isn't related to the current storyline. Single adventure DLC that give a solid 10 to 15 hours of gameplay with a new character.

I can see half of the world's population applying to remortgage their homes...

But back on topic, for something of that scale, even as pure DLC, I would buy it regardless. If it was too expensive I'd save up. But reasonably I'd probably expect to pay maybe £10/£15 for dlc or £25/£30 for a retail expansion of this nature.

I'd prefer to travel to a different place for an expansion, to find out more about Grey Warden history, or something pertaining to being a GW in some way. I would like to drag all my old companions around as well. (Though I can imagine that being difficult depending on the ending of the game story) Maybe meet some new ones.

I'd expect to pay around £15-£20, maybe a bit more depending on the content.

I wouldn't like any sort of multiplayer really. This is a single player game and I'd prefer for it to stay that way. Especially if the multiplayer content meant missing out on more fun single player stuff. If I'm in the mood for company while questing, there are lots of games available already for that, where as great single player games are somewhat harder to find.

For everything in the OP and a full 10+ hours of additional play time I'd gladly pay $20-$25. I might even be willing to pay $30 for it if it looked like it was worth that much and added something to gameplay.

The continuation of the game? new stuff? a new enemy? a arena? hmm

Well it would depend on how long it took for bioware to come out with this. Theres also a few things that should be added. Like the ability to be qunarie! And you know, one or two things I would like to see fix or added, like more hair color and styles. just minor things really.

But really, it depends on how long it takes bioware to make this avaliable, and it also depends on what is in this expantion/DLC But really, $20-30 sounds fair. We are not buying a whole game, and thus I refuse to pay new game prince for expanded content. But if the amount of content is well, epic, then I have no issues with paying a pretty penny.

if you made the ultamate sacrifice...hmmm well then heres what should happen if you didnt do that little side quest for morrigan -you wake up in a hut with Flemyth chanting with her hands above you, shes worked for months reviving you. and if you did do that  quest for morrigan then she has gained knowledge and perhaps she revives you

Sure.. or maybe play as the brother/sister/bestfriend/other relitive of the pc who seaks answers of why the pc had to die.

or maybe play as one of the party members

oh! or better yet! xD you get to play as a new "origin" oh man, that would be some major scripe writing. But  once more you get to choose rather your a city elf, or a dalish, or a  human, or what not, expect this time the stories have changed. Like if you played X origin before, but made the sacrifice, you can choose to be say.. the city elf, who in the face of death by the city guards made a run for it, an returned after the blight.

or you can choose a new human origin, expect this time your a commoner!

This is not an unreasonable want as they are the best part of the DA:O story. :wizard:

Flemath? but I offed the old bitty! and having Morrigan save you seems mote point if one of the side quests is to go find her... I say depending on the most powerful living mage. Rather thats the first enchanter, or Wyane, or Flemath. Oe better yet!!!

If you made the Ultimate Sacrifice, you find yourself in the Fade, where after a mini quest like say.. you are confronted with some of the hardest choices in the game again. Or maybe riddles or something from a good spirt, or hell the maker or andrasta! and after doing this you awaken to find yourself where you origin story began. For a dalish, you find yourself awakening outside of the ruins. For a city elf perhaps you find yourself passed out in the alienage, for a mage, your back at the tower,, ect ect ect, fill in the blanks and reactions
