And personally, if it was something like the First Contact War, or the Morning War, I wouldn't want to be shooting Turians all day after everything we've gone through together in ME1 - ME3. And I don't want to be Quarians shooting Geth all day. We already did that plenty in ME1.
Anyway, I'd like the next Mass Effect game to follow the trilogy, not predate it.

That is bordering on Lovecraftian proportions. Your idea is actually headed in a really interesting direction. Love it
@Mylahkri0n thanks, I'm planning on getting more of his books as soon as possible lol.

'State of the Art' is the short story. Surface Detail is the latest full novel in that universe. Consider Phlebas was the 'first' Culture novel, then Player of Games, Use of Weapons, Excession, Look to Windward, Matter & Surface Detail.

Personally I don't want a prequel saga. That's every franchises answer for what to do when they don't know what to do. We already know everything that happens in, minus the minor details. There wouldn't be much to surprise us as players.

I'd be surprised if we got anything short of a human protagonist.
I wouldn't be too worried.

Hmm, some months ago, ME3 was supposed to be the end of line for ME.
It was the end of Shepard's story, not ME in general.

Yes, an angle that worked for a chick flick (and BTW, pick up a history book because a lot more people survived the Titanic than the Prothean war) would clearly work for Mass Effect. Because the audiences are SO similar.
We need an eye roll smiley.
Reach was a chick flick?
And honestly, the whole foregone-conclusion thing where you know it's a crapsack ending actually does manage to sell pretty well. Older than feudalism - the Trojans and the Spartans, for example.
