Just a hint: If you really want to make this game more challenging, stop nerfing guns and start adding mobs with better AI. Those Nemesis(plural) suck big time when they should be at least half as deadly as HL(Black Mesa mod) assassins.
At least, my two cents on the matter.
why would they do that adding more means longer games, not nerfing guns that are almost used everytime at x would need to be rebalanced. i.e the piranha and carnifex to keep the game going hence persistence changes

Just when you thought you couldn't hold a greater grudge against Bioware, they decide to do something like this.
Balancing a game gives you a grudge?

put everything back to how it was, fix the bugs THEN look at weapon balances.

Are you saying they're even more annoying to hit in the Black Mesa mod than in the base 1998 game?

I was absolutely fine with the Paladin nerf, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. They probably know what they're doing!
They're absolute fools - you give them way too much benefit of the doubt. The Paladin is totally a non factor these days. The only reason people use the Carnifex is because they nerfed the Paladin, then now instead of doing the right thing by restoring the Paladin, they nerf the Carnifex?
Bioware's logic is absolutely baffling. Especially at a time when the Carnifex is much much less used nowadays compared to back then. There's just other options, especially with pistol ULM.

Sweet! To be honest, I do sorta like the Eagle... as a weapon, not a Commendation Pack reward <_<
All I mean is, it's an accurate SMG that ULM works on, basically.

I've no idea what an " HL(Black Mesa mod) assassin" is as I'm not a big shooter fan (only love ME for its story) but I agree. For the most part. Phantoms are very intelligent, but aside from them most enemies are pretty dumb. Brutes are the worst. The reason for the turian head is for a turian's tactical military mind. That tactical military mind said "don' bring a gun to a firefight." They have two moves, both of which are used by large professional wrestlers: running splash and chokeslam. I do not fear Umaga's moveset, sorry.

I could maybe see making it weight just a little bit more considering we have the Ultra-light pistol mod now. It would still easily be usable on Adepts in that case but you'd lose out on one of the other, possibly more beneficial mods.
If anything I think the Paladin needs a looking at. I don't see it that often and it isn't really distinguished from the Carnifex (in a positive way), but I see that more as a Paladin issue, not a Carnifex issue. The Carnifex is easily comparable to the Talon, Scorpion etc. in terms of damage, fire rate, effectiveness etc. The Paladin doesn't really have any huge advantage. The increased damage is really offset by the limited 3 shots and fire rate. Actually I've long felt that the Paladin and Talon are at odds and slightly reversed.

great news.
eagle, crusader, wraith and thypoon need a huge buff imo
harrier a bit more reserve ammo (but the rest is a great AR)
some say Jabelin, PPR and Kishock need a buff also, but i dont know, i dont use them too much.
ps: Buff the argus,...damn..heavy..HUGE recoil..fail AR

Same with the Carnifex (Even though I hardly ever see anyone with it now) people don't use a Carnifex over, say, a Phalanx because it's balls powerful and makes the game very easy, they use it because it will actually do decent damage to the enemies.
I mean, if you're going to do it, you may as well take away all the weapons and give us nothing to fight with.

At this point, these nerfs seem entirely unnecessary compared to buffing other options. Neither of these weapons are dominant, in the game as a whole or in their class.
There are currently lots of great, competive shotguns and for the heavy pistols, the very viable alternatives are either niche weapons (Acolyte, Scorpion) or competive (Talon, Paladin), leaving just the generally weak Arc Pistol and Eagle as the ones being overshadowed.
Just buff those two instead, really. We can of course include the Predator and Phalanx in the overshadowing, but there really isn't a common or uncommon that isn't overshadowed in their category by their best rare or ultrarare counterparts to being with, so that doesn't seem a valid reason to consider anyhow.
