Example: Why carry a Vindicator when you can carry a Carnifex? ect. I love the weapon. Definitely one of my go-to-guns since ME2---I do think it needs a -slight- nerf. It certainly doesn't need to be nerfed into the ground however. This is also how I feel about the Piranah.
This is just part of the problem though. The power of our more prolific weapons isn't all to blame for the lack of variety. Some weapons simply don't measure up at all. They are just taking up space. I understand something I get in a recruit pack isn't supposed to hold up to a typical ultra rare (in most cases) ..But weapons like the Scimitar, Locust, Raptor, and Vindicator? ---countless others need to be at least semi-competitive. Ideally, every weapon should have a nice niche. (barring a few basic starter weapons)
Look at the Mattock; For it's tier I feel that it is exactly where it needs to be. But the Vindicator? God I love the burst fire style of the gun. But the damage output is not rewarding enough to warrant using it.
I am more of the mind that several weapons need to be looked at and buffed. The only thing getting any focus or attention is our definitive meta-game weapons. I'm not a balance or numbers kind of guy but the tiny tweaks and adjustments I've seen for other weapons (like the slight raptor's buff today) look tiny and miniscule--hardly game changing.
