I can't find much on voice chat not working but I am having a problem.  I can't hear anyone in voice chat.  I hear everything else: music, sound effects, the mission dialog (Get to the extraction point!) but I can't hear other players.  Here is what I have done with settings:  I turned all three of those above effects down to 20% and turned my speaker/headphone volume up just incase it was a volume issue.  I tried switching Dynamic Range back and forth between low and high.

As far as my input goes, I have a Logitech headset and I can record audio with it in Windows 7.  In game, with the headset plugged in I get the blue speaker icon and when I talk, it shows the speaker active icon.  Through chat messages with friends, they can hear me talk but I can't hear myself or anyone else.  I don't think this has anything to do with the problem but I did switch back and forth between Push to Talk and Always On.

I don't know if it makes any difference but it is the same in both public games as well as private.   Lately I have been playing without the headset and I have the red icon at the start of multiplayer games so people can see that I am not in the voice chat.  I see that there are actually a lot of other people with the red speaker icon.  Any suggestions with this will be appreciated.

I fixed this by going back to defaults in the Sound option. I don't know how it got out of whack. I have my mic plugged in and I hear sounds on the speakers. Hope this helps anyone else who has this problem.
