Anyone else notice that Leon's hair is drenched in oil sheen, and Soul Glow?

I'm so surprised he still has that hairdo. I guess it's pretty much "the Leon" now, if they cut his hair or something, the fans would go ape.

It's really better to put a bullet in the enemy's head first, then give 'em a good roundhouse kick while they're stunned a la RE4 and RE5. I find over-relying on melee will result in running out of stamina and getting bit... or as a new feature, getting hit with an axe or glass bottle as some of the zombies carry those.

Anyway, I think you guys are being a bit dramatic about this - I know the game has flaws, but calling it the worst game you've ever played and nitpicking and exaggerating everything in the game... sorry, the DEMO seems a bit over-the-top to me. It's not that bad, really.

Just my two cents.

It's certainly not the worst game I've ever played - merely the worst Resident Evil I've played. Actually, since I only played a little bit, it could end up being better than Revelations, which I loathed for some reason.

A lot of people hated Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. All the horrid reviews and comments made me shy away from that until last week, when i picked it up cheap.

It's not perfect. It's not terrible, either.

I will probably end up getting RE6, (because I'm weak, and my brother and I have hilarious co-op sessions) but not on release day, and not for 60 bucks. I am willing to let it grow on me, but I honestly don't see it happening, especially if there's more content akin to Chris' demo.

Ick. No.

Got to say though, I was NOT expecting those big lizard crawly things in Sherry's campaign to be able to climb ladders. Learned that out the hard way. What also surprised me is how the enemies in that same scenario die.

It is that bad though. It's not the worst game I've ever played, but it is the worst game I've played in a long time. I got absolutely no enjoyment from playing it and it felt like a bargain bin release from an unknown publisher that's still a good eight months to a year from completion.

I know you like it and all, that's fair enough, but if this passes for a AAA game then I'm done with gaming. I would not pay for this or any game of the same quality. That's the worst part for me, that it's supposed to be AAA and yet feels worse than Alpha Protocol.

I found some enjoyment but out of irony... I don't think they intended for me to laugh as much as I did.  i wasn't taking any of it seriously... I mean the over dramatic kill the president right from the start and Chris' campaign being ripped straight ouf of a call of duty game... Seriously are the zombies slow mindless kind or super intelligent ones who use guns?  Because using both is just not cool.
Seriously its like they don't even care anymore.  This feels like a parody on horror games.

"We're taking all the *good* stuff and taking it into the next level"
"This time we are trying to focus on (horror as) *entertainment*... and something that is more "all-encompassing""
"stress-free for the player... something that was intuitive and *easy* for them to use... we took a look at all the recent games and tried to follow... how *action*-shooters are *trending*... and how we can incorporate that in Resident Evil 6"
"All new actions that are added to the game!"

"fans wanted to see zombies return, especially as the game has evolved and gotten *better*... we wanted to do something *different* with them... these are not the type of zombies we had in previous games, but they *are still* zombies"

Where have I heard similar rhetoric before?
Way to go, game-makers, you have just no idea what makes quality and a game "better" or "worse", you just know how to ride the wave of "trends". This *will* bring long-term losses, and lots of em.

Indeed. I wonder how many losses these companies will take until they get a clue. It's pathetic seeing them smack their heads against a wall.

On another note, this leaves no excuse for anybody not to get Dishonored. It's going to be an instant classic...don't miss out! And Arkane Studios is all about the hardcore gamer, and giving you as much quality and freedom as possible. Get it...or read up on it. Watch the dev diaries.

I really get the sense that the Leon campaign is going to make this game worth the price of admission. Hell, even the Jake one seems interesting.

It's only when you play the Chris one that the tanky RE controls really seem horrible. They should not have gone with a full blown military campaign. RE fans aren't interested in that and military shooter enthusiasts will think that it's utter crap.

Well, yeah, Dishonored seems absolutely fantastic from the developers' perspective (if not a bit drailing for this thread), yet I'm not inclined on buying if the game isn't well-moddable (though it's under Bethesda, so I guess heavy modding will be pretty much part of the deal).

Don't like the vanilla textures and some graphics' details, at all. (for example some cartoony animations, eg. the notification that an enemy sees you).

A ****ing 7 seriously? The game is shoddy at best and completely horrific when i saw Jake teasing a zombie.

They must be getting paid to rate this game good.

That theory holds no water my friend.

IGN gave it a 7.9, so by that logic, they're getting paid more... wait... oooooooooooooh...

I think I hate the gaming industry all of a sudden.

The game is getting highly mixed reviews. I expected as much, considering how divisive the demo was.

I thought IGN ran on a .5 system... or had they changed that when I wasn't like that?

Beside, if they over exaggerate a game like they did with ME3, hell will rain on them again.

Then I think they're due for a firestorm.

ESPECIALLY after the Darksiders 2 bull****.

I'm picking up my preorder tomorrow, but won't be starting right away, as I'm firmly locked in Borderlands 2 mode.
