I'm afraid they did. I saw it with my own eyes and IGN was a laughing stock for quite some time after that. I'm amazed I was able to uncover an intact screenshot from that fateful couple of days where IGN showed where their loyalties truly lie.

Dude, just stop. Resident Evil 4 is one of the greatest games ever made and no amount of hipsters are gonna change that.
That said, I think I'm done with the franchise until they do a reboot back to the horror roots.

Resi 4's controls were tanky but at least they worked. The controls in Resi 6 are an absolute cluster ****. And considering that a 7 year old game works better than the current game is pretty bloody pathetic.
What really makes me laugh though is that the fanboy's are in rampant denial over the poor review scores, implying that the reviewers somehow got their opinion wrong. When the fact is, they can't except that this is a bad game. Seriously, if you rate Resident Evil 6 as a bold step forward for the franchise and actually paid full price for it, then you not only have bad taste but you're everything that is wrong with the industry when you support this mediocre crap.

Not to beat a dead horse here, but between what we are seeing out of Capcom and EA I'm sorta concerned about Crysis 3. Normally Crytek is left a bit hands off by EA, but now ehh who can tell?

Near the middle to the end it was an Action game, but there were still PLENTY moments of pure terror and suspense, no matter what all of the "Let's Talk **** On A Masterpeice Because It Makes Me Feel Superior By Way Of Being Different" camp want to say.
RE4 was the best in the series and one of the most influential games of the past 10 years.
