So, I've dealt with some issues where some VO I've created isn't working anymore. Long story short, I have found that when I have edited a line of dialogue that has VO (sometimes, I'm making sure the text matches the VO), the ID of the line changes.
Is there any way to stop this from happening, or will I always have to rename the VO files to match the new line ID?
Oh, and why in the hell would this happen? You would think that once an ID is created, it's unique and lives forever.

There you go, throwing logic into the toolset again. I have made changes and not had this problem. However, I keep an eye on the IDs because others have mentioned this. I have changed words, punctuation, animations, and even stages without the line ID changing. I've only seen the ID change when I copy the line. But like I said, I've heard others say this happens so I keep an eye out for it.

I've been in the conversation editor trying to resolve my problem and kept an eye on the line numbers that I've been working with. I've changed words, punctuation, dynamic stages, added/removed a cutscene to the line, changed cinematics and animations. And the line number remained the same.
But I know that someone else talked about the renumbering.

I've never seen string ID change unless you make a new line outright.

I haven't either, but I do know someone else who complained about it. Without knowing exactly what they did, I don't know the reason for the line IDs to change. Could even be the difference between copying lines versus linking to them.
