First of all I must congratulate Bioware on doing a fine job with ME3. I was rather disapointed with ME2, but ME3 feels more like the original.

Now here is the question, if you start a new game with a previous ME3 character, do you get to keep all the items that was purchased in the previous runthrough like ME, or do you just keep your level and lose everything like ME2?

I really don't want to start all over again with all the upgrades that I purchased and what have you.

You didn't lose everything in ME2, just upgrades.

But to answer your question, you get to keep the money, weapons, weapon mods, armor (all items basically).
