After the reception of Dragon Age 2 (and the ending of ME 3 for good measure), can you really be relaxed about how this game will come out?

Now don't get me wrong, I feel like I'm worried about every game that comes out doing well, but with Dragon Age we've only had two games, and two very split receptions of both.

What I mean is, do you feel like Bioware's got this? (Just like you wouldn't need to worry that Rockstar will make GTA 5 great) Or, do you feel like you're on the edge of your seat, ass cheeks clenched so hard you can break bones with them, about whether or not the Dragon Age series will be redeemed?

I'm not sure. DAO and DA2 were so different from each other that i don't know what to expect.

I am hoping the game will be the best ever, of course. But i am expecting something alot better than DA2, but maybe not as good as DA:O.

I have peace of mind that I will most likely enjoy it.

As for the gamer community on the whole, I guess that depends on what we hear in the coming months/years, but let's just say I don't envy the challenge the devs will face in winning certain sections of the community back. Some are dead set against bioware now and don't seem like they would be swayed no matter what bioware does.

No, I'm not worried. I thought Dragon Age 2 and ME3 were both outstanding games. The last 10 minutes of ME3 and recycled dungeons in DA2 were not enough to overcome the many positive qualities of those games.

Bioware`s strength has allways been in writing great characters. No matter the flaws DA2 had, some of the characters were fantastic. I am justhoping for great replayability this time.

As much as I am wary about this game, I'm in to fair chances.

I DO know that people will be like that. Must suck, with the general gaming public's reaction to DA2 and ME3 being so negative. Really damages a reputation.

Mixed feelings really. The confirmation that old engine has been dumped in favour of building a new one using Frostbite 2 was a positive bit of news. This means they're looking to enhance level design and overall presentation. The fact they've been working in some capacity for a while now is also a good sign.

On the other hand strong hints at multiplayer and all that follows makes me fear EA has learned very little from the last two games. I'm more worried about Electronic Arts hampering the game than Bioware itself.

Sometimes I wish that I could just buy Bioware and let them do as they please....

i am hoping bioware will see why dragon age 1 was better in every way possible and will think twice before making another ending as bad as mass effect 3 because i want to stay loyal to bioware but if dragon age 3 is anything like as bad then i will have to stop spending money on bioware games

Totally have Peace of Mind about it. I enjoyed most of DAII (except for the fact that my first round ended with credits and stark), and the DLC was fun (even if I'm getting annoyed with Felicia Day). It's also a different section of BioWare than whoever decided ME3 could get by us.

I enjoyed Dragon Age 2. But I adored Dragon Age: Origins. I'm expecting better than 2, but probably not as mind-blowing as Origins (only for my personal taste, of course).

In that respect, I have peace of mind. I will probably like it, and as I'm not expecting to 'fall in love' again, I don't think I'll be disappointed.

But I do sometimes worry that plot-threads I care about will be dropped, or that choices will be swept under the rug due to technical difficulties. BioWare is always walking the edge with those sorts of things, and they can't always follow through on every scenario they build (see: Rachni Queen).

I'm sure the results would be fairly similar to what we have now.

Yes. The only thing I see as cause for concern is the engine change.

But even that will only impact gameplay (and other incidentals); the content they come up with is still going to be quality Dragon Age content, no doubt about it.

That'd be a total waste of money. If I bought bioware, I'd make them do the  type of game *I* want.

I enjoyed every Bioware game so far, so I'm sure this will turn out to be enjoyable for me as well.

And I honestly don't care what other gamers think because people will ALWAYS find something to complain about.

This. I happened to enjoy DA2, and despite the vanilla endings ME3 was still a really good game. I have faith that even if there are some things I won't like in DA3 (no game is perfect), that I will still greatly enjoy the overall package.

With the aggressive push away from DAO in DA2, I don't think a lot of my concerns will be addressed. It may still be good but I'll probably wait a bit rather than preorder this time.

GTAIV was a bad game. I have no peace of mind for any developer except BioWare, to be honest.

Are you kidding me? Sure it wasn't as good as San Andreas, but it was in no way a bad game.

I'm in this spot where I truly hope and want for DA3 to be awesome (for me), but I dare not get my hopes up in advance. I had high hopes for DA2, but it turned into a major disappointment for me, and I don't want to be burned this way again.
I don't need DA3 to be DAO2 to like it, but with the choices Bioware made for DA2 and ME3, I can't quite get over this nagging fear that the company is headed in a direction I can't follow.

I'll be following the forums and chiming in with my own feedback, but I'll be cautious and unlikely to pre-order.

The shooting was woefully unpolished, the character relationship system contradicted the sandbox nature of the game, the lack of appropriate checkpoints for long missions, extremely repetitive missions structure, and hit-or-miss story characters all added up to a bad experience for me. On the other hand, it had good audio, car control was competent, and it was at times pretty hilarious (my favorite: pointclickshipa****.com).

Bleh, sorry for derailing your topic.
